***Official September 2022 Thread***

So excited to say we will be there from September 2-11. I turn 50 on the 11th... so I'm pretty excited to be celebrating in WDW.
We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
I'm already on the list we just added an extra day. lol
@igrsod Good for you with an extra day!!!! Added to the Countdown List 🎂 ::MickeyMo

Curious how MNSSHP will impact the hours at all the parks. I’ll be bummed if I reserve parks, hours change and then can’t change reservation to the park open with the latest hours.
In years past, Magic Kingdom had lower attendance on party days. I know its counter-intuitive but planning MK on one of those days you can get most things done (minus fireworks)... AND if you have a PH you can go to another park at 2p.

Hi @eksmama01!!! Congrats on your early trip!!!! :D If you don't mind please give us some trip reporting when you get back. :tink: Wishing you a safe and magical trip --- from the September 2022 Group!!!!
Quick update from this week, especially since our May/Sept trips are usually similar.

Heat - not much humidity, a couple of MASSIVE thunderstorms, even in ths 90s it did not feel terrible

Pool (Stormalong Bay) - definitely filled up super fast, but later in day it seemed like chairs available

Dining - sadly, this has ranged from excellent (B&C), mediocre (CRT), to terrible (Yachtsman). Almost everything comes open last minute, too, so be flexible.

Parks - crowded, but lines reasonably fast. We like Genie + and ILL :). Even when a park shows sold out, we have been able to pick the park last minute.

Mousekeeping - we had daily YC CL

Transportation- only waits were AK coming back like every time lol

Enjoy your trips! We leave Thursday and then time to plan the next 😁

We are changing resorts. My stepchildren and grands are no longer going with us, so we are switching from Windsor Hills to POP century. We are also going to do MNSSHP on 9/5.

Recent things I've seen online seem to sound like Genie has better availability and lines have been shorter. Does that mean the rescheduled trips/revenge travel has finally slowed?

Could be once Spring Break crowds cleared out we started seeing a return to normal park attendance. I'll be curious to see reports for June/July/August. How does schools letting out factor along with most other travel options now available including cruises and Europe?

Yes, based on thrill-data, looks like wait times are down from the spring break peak.

American did schedule changes this weekend and now if we were to buy the same flights it would cost us $1200.00 apiece and that is not first class! Crazy! Glad we already have ours. We actually bought them last summer for January and then we were able to move them when we changed our trip dates. We paid $300 something a piece back then.

Omg that's insane! I'm flying United and I've had so much credit from a canceled trip in 2020 that I actually did fly first class in order to use it up and that was $300. Can I ask where you're flying from?

Small airport - Springfield, MO. We connect in Dallas.

$300 to $1200? Wow!

I'm checking every two days now for LAX to MCO. Lowest was $251 in December. Today $552.

When they messed with the schedules they must have dropped a lot of flights because now our flight is almost completely full from Dallas to Orlando. It is never that full this far out so guessing that is what made the price skyrocket so much.

My daughter and I just got back from our mother/daughter duo trip. A few things to note:

1. Crowds were much improved from my experience in January. It was almost night and day. We didn't feel the need to stake out a parade spot an hour in advance. We found a nice place in Frontierland and didn't feel squished.

2. We purchased G+ ahead of time and really only used it for HS. My daughter LOVED Rise (we did purchase ILL). In every other park, we rope dropped and didn't really wait much more than an hour for any attraction. It seemed to have worked well. I wish we could of rode GotG, but in Sept that'll happen.

3. We decided to rent a car, and boy it was a game changer. If you are thinking about doing so , I highly recommend it. When it is hot and everyone is grumpy, it isn't fun at all to wait in a line for a bus. It seemed as though people were frustrated by the experience (we stayed at POFQ).

All in all it was a great trip!! I'm excited to get back in Sept for all the fall festivities.

The supply must not be meeting the demand. I'm surprised from a hub like Dallas to a major destination like Orlando they aren't adding flights instead of apparently subtracting. Unless they're assuming that time of year is less traveled.

Fingers crossed September looks much more normal for crowds then. I'm glad I didn't get Genie for September. I found it most useful for HS also, so I will probably only get it that day unless Epcot is not back to Remy being ILL or crowds aren't as low as we hope. Same for MK if crowds aren't good, but probably one one day there.

What do you guys think about the new Genie + announcement? My plan for Sept was to only purchase Genie + for 1 MK day. If I pre-purchase now to avoid potential cost increase and ensure they are not sold out, I will have to purchase for all of our days which will add $90 I wasn't planning to spend (for Epcot and AK days). My inclination is to not pre-purchase and just hope that in Sept there won't be any issue with selling out and I will be able to get it in the morning of our MK day (and at the same $15 price).
