***Official September 2022 Thread***

Ok, devil's advocate, why not RD without them? You get your earlier morning intense time, they get to sleep in and pace themselves.

I completely understand the point of family time, but it's not like you'll be making memories twiddling your thumbs in the hotel room wishing the two of them would just get moving already.
Yeah… I might do this. There are some pros and cons for us but I will def think about it. 🙂

sans kids for our 10-year wedding anniversary on 9/8. We have 5-day hoppers with G+, no parks on arrival or departure day and our rest day is Tuesday. We’re staying at the Dolphin
DH and I took our first kid free Disney trip in May and stayed at the Dolphin, it felt like a really great choice for an adult only trip.

I somehow forgot to add my name to this group!

Our family is headed down September 24-October 7! As of now we are staying all nights at All Star Music (in a family suite). Disney World really has limited options for a family of 6! Once October discounts come out, we may try to add a couple nights at AoA or try the Cabins at Fort Wilderness?

This will be our first trip back since June 2019, so we are very excited!
We have booked two connecting rooms at values when we were still a family of 6, cheaper than suites and usually a sleeping arrangement we preferred anyway. Cabins are fun too, though the internal bus was daunting when we still had the stroller.

I have done this lol I highly recommend even if you only do it just one morning (likely towards the end of the trip when the others start dragging)

My ADR day went great, got HDDR for 8 of us at the time/date we wanted, 5 of us are finally trying Topolino Terrace breakfast, SciFi for 7 of us, and San Angel Inn for myself, DH. and our 6 year old who not only requested dinner there when she realized it was a restaurant, but a night out with mom and dad all to herself lol

Ordered a couple lightweight Disney themed dresses for the 6 yo, need to look for t-shirts for DH and 6 year old to match one day (again, her request lol) and figure out what the teen girls need if they want to Disneybound again this year.

September trips are funny because as much as I want it to be time to go I do NOT want to rush summer even a little bit.

Hi guys, I’ve been following the thread recently. We will be staying at Pop Century 9/14-9/20 and this is only our second trip. Our plan is to focus on our 2 favorite parks: 2 days at MK and 2 days at Epcot.

I’m traveling with a DH who prefers to sleep in, likes doing a few rides but enjoys the theming, food and atmosphere the most, and enjoys a leisurely pace. Also an 8 year old who is sad she won’t get to ride in the stroller this time, and says her feet hurt when we just walk around the block. So I’m trying to plan things for a slow pace, but I know when we get there it’s going to be tough for me. I’m a ride girl, and I know I’m going to be up early each day wanting to rope drop and in the parks I’m going to want to leave the other 2 in the dust, haha. But it’s more important we have family time and we all enjoy it together, I just wish we all had the same goals, haha.
Welcome in to the September 2022 Group @DN121!!!! So Glad you joined us. :welcome: I know you, your husband and your 8 year old :earsgirl: are so excited. The Pop Century is so nice and the Skyliner I just love riding it. My family is going down a day early and booked the Pop for 1 night before our check in at our resort. Can't wait!! This trip being your 2nd will be so much fun, now that you have knowledge of what the different parks offer🏰. Maybe all the family can meet in the middle on day to day goals:dance3:. Congrats on your trip. I will add you to our CountDown List on page 1 and we look forward to planning with you in the weeks to come before our trips. ::MickeyMo:earsgirl:::MinnieMo

I feel this for sure! I’m not wishing away one day of this summer and I think everyone in my family is enjoying it maybe more? Knowing we have a big trip right after the stress of back to school to look forward to.

Same. July is my favorite month for multiple reasons. The anticipation is almost as fun as the trip. It's exciting to think about how we will plan our days.

So just had my first ADR experience. After saying I probably won't book any ADRs, I felt I should after reading all your posts - it got me excited.

The website wouldn't let me log in- it kept asking me to confirm my account and sending confirmation codes to log in again. Finally, after my fifth confirmation code, I was ready to give up, and then finally, success!

Until it started not liking my credit card and saying unsuccessful (even though it was already attached to my account and approved!)

It was very frustrating and I was ready to give up. Again.

Luckily I am in Australia, and it was 8 pm my time, and I wasn't getting up super early like most of you, so I persisted.

And then actual success.

Booked Sci-Fi for lunch. An afternoon drink the same day at Oga's.

Beaches and Cream for dinner on the day we are leaving MK early (due to the Halloween event).

And I got Space 220 Lounge at 430pm on our Epcot Day....but only for two people. I'm there with my two kids, my best friend and his son. (Epcot is the only Disney park they are doing).
So I wanted ideally five or even 3.

What are the chances of being able to add 1 or 3 people at a later date? Or if I ask the kind Disney person to let me bring both my kids (they are 16) and we squeeze in? Or just to let him have a look and then go back down.

It was the only restaurant my kids wanted to see on this trip!

The lounge has mostly 2 tops, fewer 4 tops. The system has likely assigned you a 2 person table and they won't let you try to jam 5 people around it.

Set up a dining reservation notification for a 4 at the same time and cross your fingers and toes. Don't bother with 5, they don't exist for the lounge.

I assume you only want the lounge? Because you have much better chances with the restaurant, but then you're paying for the full meal for everyone.

Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic about low crowds, but we're not planning to use Genie+... not a fan of the idea of it or paying extra for rides after already paying for park admission so definitely won't be doing any LL's. I'll be honest, I haven't even bothered to learn much about it. Our last trip was before it was introduced.
I'm not planning on using it either. Going to use EE, then try and get on some more popular rides at park close. Mid-day I'm going back to the room and use pool and maybe nap. Heat is my enemy and I don't usually go this time of year. My daughter thought it would be the least crowded time to go, so here we come! I used Genie + a couple times in December and we always hop. The available ride choices were for rides that didn't have long lines anyway but it did help with a couple rides but it's like you're paying $ 15.00 for one or two rides. You may just as well pay for the LL$. We shall see what happens but as of now not we do not plan on buying it.

Anyone in here excited about Cosmic Rewind? My crew is all about it. They want to try and get it. I'm waiting to see if they like it because it may be too intense for me. A turning car, moving fast, and watching screens all at the same time may give me motion sickness. I'm okay not doing it. Anyone else have thoughts?

We're looking forward to it and have avoided watching any vlogs about it so we'll be surprised. I've heard tidbits about multiple song options and the screens and turning cars so do have some idea of what to expect. Apparently if you look where your car is pointing you and not to the sides it's supposed to help avoid any motion sickness. Fingers crossed!

An update to my plans - the conference that I'm going to beforehand finally released its schedule and it ends on Saturday evening so that means I'll arrive on Sunday around 2:30 in the afternoon after taking a direct flight into Orlando which I just booked yesterday! We're thinking we will do MK that day. I'll probably meet my dad in the park since he'll be there early that morning. Park closes at 10pm so that seems like enough hours for me to be there and have it be worth the extra park day.

Also saw that extra evening hours for deluxe resort guests are offered on Monday at Epcot and Wednesday at MK. We'll be at Moonlight Magic on Wednesday evening but would be interested in Epcot on Monday. Only issue is, we check out of the AKL on Monday morning and into POFQ that evening. I'm guessing we wouldn't be allowed to attend the extra Epcot hours? Anyone know?

Rode it last month, so fun!

Although I don't have motion issues except extended times going backwards (eg if in front of train on Everest and Hagrid I have to close eyes during backward parts). I didn't have this issue with Guardians at all (3 times we rode).

I don't like rough coasters, like Space, and this was so smooth in comparison

Even though not supposed to record there and its "spoiler", there are some first person perspective vids on YouTube that you might find helpful?

We were at the D23 event and could ride as many times as we wanted- I rode it once.

I got sick on it but I will ride it again and see what helps me best for sickness. I also get sick on RnRc, Space Mountain and EE. Oh and mission orange.🤢

I will ride everything each visit except mission orange.

HToT used to get me but now it is one of my favorites.

I think that you can use your deluxe benefits until midnight but it could be an issue if you check in to POFQ also.

I know that when we stayed CL at AKL we had access to the lounge until midnight (switched to a 1br).

If you have an issue, speak with a CM and they can help.

I would like to try it but my people wont like it so I’ll probably be going alone. They get majorly sick with simulator rides so I’m thinking the screens combined with everything else will be a no-go.

Anyone care to share their plans? Our ADR day is Sunday so we've been staying up late finalizing our plans.

Sept 9th - PHX to MCO - late afternoon arrival, 1 night stay at Hilton near MCO (on points)
Sept 10th - Early check in to HRH/ IOA/US
Sept 11th - Volcano Bay & HHN
Sept 12th - IOA/US
Sept 13th - Volcano Bay/Resort Day
Sept 14th - IOA/US
Sept 15th - Transfer to Boardwalk/Hollywood Studios
Sept 16th - Epcot
Sept 17th - AK/Disney Springs
Sept 18th - TL/MNSSHP
Sept 19th - Epcot
Sept 20th - Hollywood Studios
Sept 21st - Magic Kingdom
Sept 22nd - AK/Epcot
Sept 23rd - Fly Home Late

I'm so excited...MK is going to be open until 10:00 in September! :cool1: (Except for MNSSHP days.) I was thinking it would probably close at 9:00. Only thing is that on our MK day there will be EEH for deluxe resort guests. Will this have any effect on MK crowds that day?
