***Official September 2022 Thread***

We're flying in and staying at a Disney Springs area hotel on Hotel Plaza Boulevard from 8/31-9/4. We're only going to attend MNSSHP on 9/2. We used to live right outside of Tampa so we were previously used to getting to the Disney area within an hour and being able to explore different things each time we were in the area. We haven't been to Disney Springs in 3 years and haven't been to the parks since our last MNSSHP in 2018 so we are excited to see what's changed!
Welcome in to the September 2022 Group @jessishante :welcome: Congratulations on your upcoming trip!!pixiedust: Its going to be a great Disney Reunion on your trip!!! MNSSHP 🎃is so much fun and hopefully lower crowds at the one on 9/2. My daughter and her husband are also going on that night. That must of been so convenient to live so close to Disney and Tampa is such a beautiful city with those great beaches near by. I will add you to our CountDown List on page 1 and we will see you here for more planning as we all look forward to our September trips.:goofy:

Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic about low crowds, but we're not planning to use Genie+... not a fan of the idea of it or paying extra for rides after already paying for park admission so definitely won't be doing any LL's. I'll be honest, I haven't even bothered to learn much about it. Our last trip was before it was introduced.

EE is a big advantage. I wasn't optimistic about it being only 30 minutes instead of an hour, but it definitely helps if you're a morning person.

One of my DDs has a DAS so that helps with lines, but she cannot do coasters or thrill rides due to her condition. My other DD mostly wants to do thrill rides. DH really can't do coasters either so we often split up for certain rides. We did not buy Genie+ for any of our 5 park days in June and my teen and I did OK without waiting excessively long standby lines - we watched wait times and took advantage of EE.

The only ride we didn't get to that we wanted to was ToT, but she didn't want it bad enough to wait for 90-120 minutes lol. Also, we missed Slinky since she doesn't care for that one and only goes on it for me. I wasn't waiting 2 hours for that one either lol.

Times are often inflated too we found, especially towards the end of the night. I'm hopeful for our MNSSHP weekend trip (I added a one-day hopper park day) that crowds will be lower in Sept than in June.

Although, I wasn't sure how VQ would play out for Guardians, so I did get $ILL for that ride on our Epcot day. That was my only add-on purchase for the 2 of us. (Ended up getting 2 VQs during the week, so turns out I didn't need it!)

Scenario #1 or Scenario #2 - WWYD?

Difference is really day we attend MNSSHP, Sunday or Tuesday? And the impact it has in HS day. If we attend the party on Sunday then HS is a late arrival on Monday. But if we go to the party on Tuesday we can rope drop HS. Can we do all headliner rides at HS if we have a late arrival of 11am or noon?

# 1
- Saturday 9/17 arrival day, pool activities, movie under stars, early bedtime
- Sunday 9/18 MNSSHP, chill day before party
- Monday 9/19 HS late start 11am/noon park arrival
- Tuesday 9/20 Disney springs and switch resorts
- Wednesday 9/21 MK rope drop + evening hours close out park late
- Thursday 9/22 EPCOT late start 11am park arrival
- Friday 9/23 MK again, party day so ends early
- Saturday 9/24 departure day

#2
- Saturday 9/17 arrival day, pool activities, movie under stars, early bedtime
- Sunday 9/18 MK rope drop, party day so no fireworks
- Monday 9/19 HS rope drop
- Tuesday 9/20 switch resorts then MNSSHP
- Wednesday 9/21 MK 11am arrival + evening hours close out park late
- Thursday 9/22 EPCOT late start 11am park arrival
- Friday 9/23 MK again, party day so ends early
- Saturday 9/24 departure day

Is it during the Harmonious time? Are they still doing harmonious viewing packages ? That be why you can’t book your time slot. Good luck though!

No it was just dinner. I'm hearing they aren't doing Harmonious packages. I wanted to do that and I'll keep looking for it also, but for now I'd be happy with just dinner.

Does EE mean Early Entry? Not sure if we'll get that staying at POFQ? Or do you mean arriving at rope drop? We're morning people so will probably do that each day!
All Disney resorts get the 30 min morning early entry. It’s only the Deluxe resorts that get the evening extra hours 2 days a week.

You are! All Disney hotels get early entry (it's the evening hours that are limited to Deluxe, Shades of Green, and Swan/Dolphin). With early entry, you can go on attractions 30 minutes before the official park opens.

If able, I recommend getting to the parks even earlier to tap in because the rope drop crowd was there in full every day we did it - at Epcot, we initially lined up with the wrong crowd there were so many people. At MK it was clearer for us. We arrived at about 8 a.m. there and were directed towards either Tomorrowland or Fantasyland for 8:30 early entry. A little behind the crowd - too far for mine train, but we got on Peter Pan fairly quickly.

Which way should you line up depending on what you want? Last trip I did Epcot later in the day and was at POP so I entered from the back at skyliner. I figure I will purchase ILL for Guardians and that will give me time to rope drop TT ahead of the crowds. I'm hoping Remy will be back on ILL by then.

I think the second plan looks great. It gives you early bedtime before rope drop HS and time to switch resorts on party day. And gives you that rest half day time in the middle of the trip when you’ll need it more.

Unless you are prioritizing meeting as many characters as possible at the party and don’t care too much about doing everything at HS, that looks like the better plan to me.

Anyone have suspicions when the Magic Kingdom and Epcot fireworks will take place in mid-September? I'm trying to think through when to be where for fireworks and I hate that I have no idea what time they are going to take place! All the info from last year is pre-50th, so I don't know if it's helpful or not.

A safe bet would be to assume 9PM. Just based on park closing time and when it would be dark enough.

#2 IMO. You can always go back to HS at night too, right? Even for a little bit

Thank you so much and it was super convenient!

Hi guys, I’ve been following the thread recently. We will be staying at Pop Century 9/14-9/20 and this is only our second trip. Our plan is to focus on our 2 favorite parks: 2 days at MK and 2 days at Epcot.

I’m traveling with a DH who prefers to sleep in, likes doing a few rides but enjoys the theming, food and atmosphere the most, and enjoys a leisurely pace. Also an 8 year old who is sad she won’t get to ride in the stroller this time, and says her feet hurt when we just walk around the block. So I’m trying to plan things for a slow pace, but I know when we get there it’s going to be tough for me. I’m a ride girl, and I know I’m going to be up early each day wanting to rope drop and in the parks I’m going to want to leave the other 2 in the dust, haha. But it’s more important we have family time and we all enjoy it together, I just wish we all had the same goals, haha.

HS is the hardest park to get everything done without getting stuck in 60+ minute lines. I'd definitely want that to be a RD day since it's your only day there.

You have lots of MK including evening hours, so losing that one RD would be my choice over losing your only HS RD.

Ok, devil's advocate, why not RD without them? You get your earlier morning intense time, they get to sleep in and pace themselves.

I completely understand the point of family time, but it's not like you'll be making memories twiddling your thumbs in the hotel room wishing the two of them would just get moving already.
