What is the last week in September weather like?

I have never been the last week in September but have heard from friends it can still be very hot low 90's and high 80's with thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. And humid.

Hi! Exciting to read all the trips planned for September. We will be in WDW for our 31st wedding anniversary (plan was for our 30th but the last two years have shown plans are made for changing lol).

Beach Club Villa's 9/22-9/27, AKL Jambo 9/27-10/1 Our last September trip was for our 4th Anniversary wayyyy back in 1995 when we stayed in the Alligator Bayou section of Dixie Landings .

At least I am prepared for hot weather . We have done 2 August trips, a November and a December and just did our first Jan. this year (where we too experienced the crowds )

Our September 2022 Group Welcomes you in @tigerlilly !!!! So glad you joined our enthusiastic and knowledgeable Group!!! Congratulations on your 31st anniversary. Not a better place to celebrate than a Disney World vacation. Finally after 2 years it is your turn to go to WDW. I watched online the crowds for the past couple of months. We can only hope our September trips will be lower crowds than what we have seen. Sounds like a great 10 day trip for you anniversary at 2 amazing resorts Beach Club with that wonderful pool and Animal Kingdom with lots of . I will add you to our Countdown List and will see you here for more planning.

I’ve been third week of Sept… can’t imagine it changes drastically just a few days later. Hot and sticky every day. We didn’t really see many pop up storms at all, but the reason we were there sept 18th-25 in the first place was because our earlier sept trip was postponed due to a hurricane shutting the parks and all air travel down… not sure if being on the back end of a major storm system affected the weather and decreased the small storms.

Except for animal kingdom, the heat was manageable with cooling towels, long TS lunches, and a few days with pool breaks. Parks were really glorious weather and crowd wise the minute the sun went down.

We go every year the third week of September (school break). It is hot and that is compared to Georgia weather. We spend a lot of time outside in the summer so it doesn’t really bother us as long as we can find some shade ever now and then. The cooling towels are awesome! The plus side is no matter what time of day it’s perfect pool weather. If you your not accustomed to spending time outside in summer, if could be miserable.

@Neverbeast and @Earningmywings I thought I was the "only" person who uses a cooling towel at Disney in September. I never see anyone but me with one around my neck. My husband doesn't use one either. Heat doesn't bother him. But here I go each day with my cooling towel and my fan. They are great!!!

Count me in as another user of cooling towels. This is our first end-of-September trip. We usually visit WDW in August, so those cooling towels are crucial!

I also have cooling towels to pack for my trip! I also sometimes just go into the restroom and dab my face down with a wet paper towel- but you need to be careful or you'll wash the sun cream off LOL

I'm hoping to try and drink LOADS! I'm going to get some squeezy fruit cordial to make the free water taste better.

We usually keep the big Powerades (28 or 32oz) in the refrigerator and fill up the Yeti every morning with 2 of them. Them order Powerade with lunch and refill. However, this is the first year we will not have a stroller and I really don’t think we want to carry around a 64oz Yeti all day. We may jump on the water enhancer bandwagon and just refill water in smaller bottles.

I use a neck fan that I got on Amazon - it has a usb charger so I plug that in every night when I get back to the room. It works pretty well (has multiple speed settings) and feels especially awesome when you walk in a building with ac!

Yep, we should be drinking at least 16-24 oz of water every hour. You really won't feel the effects of dehydration till you start to partake in the booze around the parks.

Southwest already changed my flight that I JUST booked a week ago! Canceled the nonstop and want to put me on a 9pm arriving after midnight. other choice means either pulling kids out of school early on departure or having a huge layover and still only getting there at 11:30pm.

I *guess* I’m glad this isn’t happening day of travel like some folks are experiencing but what the heck! These flights have only even been available since March 30

I think it's been common with most of the airlines in the past year. My parents had their United flight canceled and had to rebook in January.

Pre-pandemic I never had an issue with SW. Seems a lot of flights with all airlines are getting shuffled these days. This will be my first flight since October 2019, so I'm following along this thread over in Transportation - https://www.disboards.com/threads/p...cerns-etc-here.2500174/page-569#post-63949502

I think it’s been common for many airlines based on other threads here and some blog posts… but not 4+ months out? They rescheduled us for a very late flight that still leaves the same day but kinda screws up my plan to get an early park start our first day. There are still options to rebook but they all have a downside of one flavor or another.
