***Official Planning Thread -DECEMBER 2024 - Welcome all!***

Lol I'm up in Canada and we got snows today ... and lots more to come. Due to winter weather this time of year, I made sure to book a direct flight from my city's airport to MCO, so I only have to worry about the weather here, mostly.
Coming back, not really an issue cause kitty is at boarding.

The thing worse than snow? The exchange rate for CAD to USD 😑

Can someone help with this.

Is Epcot sold out NYE? I can't buy a 1 day ticket there, but if I buy a package with hotel, it doesn't require me to pick a park, so then I can get in?

I thought reservations were needed anymore?
No reservations needed for dated tickets. But no more 1 day dated tickets available for Epcot on NYE.

Illinois.

I'm currently sitting here in a zen zone as I started to really freak out about delays/cancellations. Too far out to know the weather (we leave 12/2). I just want to get there. Going home I'm not as stressed because I don't have to work for another 4 days after I get home and our cat will be at the vet so they will take care of him if we are delayed.

But getting there... I have plans!!! 😂
Your backyard looks like ours did yesterday. :)

We always book the first flight out of Midway when we fly to MCO. The plane usually is one that has been sitting at the gate overnight. :)

Normally we do the same out of O'hare. This year we are the last flight and staying at MCO Hyatt night before we start the trip. It's easier for drop off of our cat at the vet this way.

It is what it is! As long as we take off the night, we are just going to go to sleep right away anyways at the hotel.

WI here and I too am worried about the weather - which is why I typically do not travel in December or January. Fingers crossed!

I am trying to decide if I am going to buy LLMP for my trip (12/29-1/3). I don't know if it will be worth it for us, as we like the tier one rides most. Probably some of it will depend on whether or not I get approved for DAS - which I will call for sometime the week of 12/2.

I can’t remember answer to this….can you add a Disney gift card to payment options for mobile ordering?

You can pay with a gift card for mobile orders but you can't store the gift card in the list of payment options. You have to type out the gift card number (or copy and paste) every time you make a purchase. I've paid with gift cards many times. :)

Yes you can. I usually keep the number in my notes so I can copy and paste it when ordering.
I can never seem to do the copy and paste thing. I'm always afraid I would lose the order if I tried it. ;)

So we leave 12/2 and I'm watching weather at home - huge cold snap coming, will be in the 20s when we leave.
Well, looks like cold snap goes all the way down to Florida! Our first few days there looks to be highs only in the 60s!

At least that will be great weather for my curly hair!

We were in WDW during the same time last year and had very cold weather for the first two days. Then it warmed up for the rest of the trip. :)

We will be bringing our warm coats on the plane when we fly out of Midway. It is better to have them with us in case it gets cold in Florida than it is to have them sitting at home. The nights are usually cold in Florida when the sun sets so early like it does in the winter.

I've never been to Disney when it's cold. I hope we still have fun!

I'm bringing mittens and earmuffs. I love earmuffs. I also have a hat, but it's easier to take off earmuffs and still have normal hair! 😂
But I'll still bring my hat - it has Minnie poms. If it's going to be really cold at one of the parties, I can just wear my hat all night.

How is the interaction with ADR's and multipass going for everyone?

Has anyone tried cancelling and rebooking ADR's recently?

Any success stories?

We switched our Epcot & Magic Kingdom days in order to be at MK on a party night & have lower crowds during the day. We will have an 8 month old with us and the odds of her staying up past 8 o'clock aren't good anyway! LOL. Might as well go on a day we have to leave at 7pm.

I found another Crystal Palace (8:05!) & Tony's Town Square (4:35) without a problem. Haven't found a Garden Grill breakfast yet but I will keep looking.

We book our Multipasses on Tuesday!

Bought our Lightning Lanes this morning! Phew, got everything pretty much exactly as I’d hoped. I woke up a few times in the night, due to worry I’d miss the morning alarm.

Biggest day I was worried about was Dec 4 at Hollywood Studios. Here’s what I got:
1. Star Tours - 9am
2. Toy Story Midway Mania - 10:40am
3. Slinky Dog Dash - 12pm

Hopefully it will only be for a couple of days and warm up....Don't forget "cuddle duds!"

I'm trying to decide whether to go to the Candlelight Processional on 12/11...eating at Via Napoli and going to the 5:00 pm show. What will be offered as the entree at Via Napoli and how soon do you have to line up before the show starts? Decisions, decisions!! Is the show something not to miss if you've never seen it before?
