Official OKW Pool Closure Date For Slide Construction

Just read on Deb's site that the main pool will close on September 6th to allow for the construction of the new pool slide. It is expected to be an 8-10 week closure. The main pool, kiddie pool and main spa will all be closed.

Thanks for the info! It will be great to have a pool slide at OKW! Hopefully, it will be done by Dec and we can do a little pool hop over to see it.

To anne1125 - if you are a DVC member you can pool hop anywhere but AKL and BC/YC except during restricted times.

When the BW or YC/BC main pools have been closed, they allowed all of those resort guests to use the other resort's pool (e.g. BW can go over to YC/BC and transportation was provided). Could be that they will allow OKW guests - regardless of DVC status - too pool hop to another, specified pool. If someone isn't along with a definate answer soon, I would suggest calling OKW.

I wouldn't think they need to offer another resorts pool to OKW guests as they have 2 ( or is it 3?) other pools at the resort that could handle the load.

We were told at a member update that SSR would be able to handle resort guests from OKW. It is a short boat ride away and a great pool. Pool hopped there 3 times in June.

I recently emailed MS about this very question - "did a boat run to SSR that we could swim there?" I was told there is no boat and that pool hopping could stop whenever.....

So there is a boat???

Yes, there is a boat that runs from OKW to DD with a stop at SSR.

They said "pool hopping could stop whenever"? They did not say no pool hopping during busy times; or no pool hopping without calling the front desk--just that it could stop "whenever"? I don't like the sound of that.
