*** Official OCTOBER 2021 Countdown Group - HAPPY 50th ANNIVERSARY WDW! ***

Today was our ADR day and the only reservation that I couldn't get on my preferred day and time was Beaches and Cream. There were a restaurants that had less desirable times, but otherwise, it went well. :) I didn't try for anything that was super hard to get, except for Beaches and Cream. Even though they remodeled that restaurant and added space from the arcade, it is still too small. :)

Today was our ADR day as well! I also couldn't get my preferred time for Beaches and Cream (wanted around 530, could only get before 4), and I couldn't get the day I wanted for Ohana, so I moved it to Halloween. I've heard Oga's Cantina can be hard to get, but they had plenty of availability when I booked today. I'm not an early bird, so I will be tired the rest of day.

The three restaurants that had no availability for our dates were Ohana, Citrico's and California Grill.

I'm sorry. I thought they put a hold on California Grill reservations for now if trying to reserve after October 1st?

Finally done with our ADRs! I have a split stay so I had to wake up before 6am on Wednesday, then again this morning o_O I will say that reservations were much harder this time than when I did it for our (cancelled) May 2020 trip. I managed to snag a weekend Ohana dinner, and an early lunch at Beaches n Cream that I may or may not be able to keep. Topolino's Terrace breakfast was hard to get but I managed to find something on our departure day. I have a BOG reservation that I am undecided on keeping because it's so $$$ but I'm a huge Beauty and the Beast fan and have never eaten here. So, decisions! Can't believe October is coming up so quickly, I imagine it's going to be super busy and so many changes keep being announced. I'm a huge planner but it's near impossible for me to plan this vacation, but we're still excited! :cool1:

I'd say keep the BOG. Although my experiences in there have been prior to the prix-fixe menu, it really is a stunning location. I loved having breakfast in the Beast's bedroom. It's a bit dark in there but his portrait and the rose were "worth the price of admission" for me. All three rooms are wonderful but that room is my favorite. It's definitely worth doing once IMO!

Yes, this and the Cantina are my two must dos even though I'll be alone. I'm there for the Disney magic, and you won't find a more magical location to sit and enjoy.

No doubt keep it. We've experienced it both the "old" way and the "new" way. My family thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd recommend getting there early and taking in the hallway/entry/library etc. Very detailed art and quite fun to see for a Beauty super fan. I know it's pricey, but it's easy to justify....you get an app, dinner, dessert, and drink .....plus a quick character viewing.

Okay, I am keeping our BOG reservation... you've all convinced me! I am super excited to see it firsthand! Now lets just hope I don't regret my two MK days being during extended evening hours or the same day as Boo Bash (I don't have Boo Bash tickets, unfortunately!) I will be living vicariously through those of you that do.

HA.....Good for you! And I forgot to mention a key part.....where else can you eat dinner in a "castle"! :)

I'm going to MK on an evening hours day too. I'm not too worried about it, but we will see.

Omg gang, booked an impulse long weekend trip today for the 50th when I saw that MK reservations were available. 3 nights at the Swan, 9/30 to 10/3! So unbelievably excited. My shortest trip so far has been 7 nights and this is my first time flying from MD instead of driving and my first time at a “non-official” resort. Can’t believe I’m going to be there!

40th trip since 1972 from Oregon!!! I am usually at WL or BR, CBR in olden times. Going to give POP my love from Oct 26th to Nov 3rd. And of course hoping for a Boma ADR!!

Heartbreaking news today. My gf had her clinic appointment and her doctors are strongly advising against travel to FL because of Delta. So we are having to cancel for the second time this year. I am so angry at people I could scream. But the silver lining is Canada being open means at least we will get to see each other, I will be spending the 2 weeks up there with her for Canadian Thanksgiving instead. We will have to do the 50th stuff next year.

I’m so sorry to read this! Such a bummer! Nice to hear you can still see each other for the 2 weeks.

Oh no- I am so sorry- but her health is most important- enjoy a wonderful trip in Canada and you have 18 months to go back!!

Oh no!!! I'm so sad for you guys.

If it helps, this trip is the least excited I've ever been for Disney!

Sorry to hear, but sounds like a sensible solution in terms of your gf's health. The silver lining of time spent together is what's most important, you're right. Maybe you can watch the ABC special "The Most Magical Story on Earth" on 10/1 somehow (does ABC air in Canada?) or on 10/2 when it streams on Hulu. Wear your ears, make some Disney cupcakes or buy some Mickey bars and have your own celebration and look forward to your next visit.

I've removed your listing, if for any reason you decide to add a new trip this October please let me know and I'd be happy to edit it in there.

Well, we actually lucked into a DVC vacancy for our dates in a Savanna View Studio at AKL Jambo! My wife and I got some of those Enso Disney rings since we are big nerds and don't currently wear our wedding rings. We will be "renewing our vows" or something at the MK on 10/1. Ideas welcome!
