***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

I think it was actually just this dollar store I was in. I went online at Dollar Tree and they show them as having them. There's a Dollar Tree right down the street from my work so I'll go check them out later this week. Fingers crossed! I do not want to spend $10 on ponchos again! :headache: Defeats the purpose!!!

I found a Jeep stroller cover for $8 on Amazon. I've got it in my shopping cart now and will keep it there until I can load the cart with enough other goodies I need to get free shipping. :rolleyes1
The free shipping is soooo worth it!!! I am actually just now starting to shop Amazon after being a loyal customer of Borders (aka Waldenbooks) for years. I hate the fact they're closing and I find Barnes & Noble to not be so noble about coupons and discounting. Plus, I do so love the Wish List feature. Hmmm....I may have to look on there and see if I can find a cheap stoller cover. To heck with the one in the garage (I think it has sticky stuff, like gum, on it anyway). I know you and I must be somewhat close to each other given your location.....I'm sure my $ store has them....and if not, there's always shopping in Delaware. :)

I am jumping in on the convo.....I DID find rain ponch's at my $ store. Also I have checked 5 $ stores looking for window clings to decorate at WDW, and the last one FINALLY had some...Tink & Mickey and Friends...So I got 6 sheets...I know a little much, but I decided to plan ahead for next years trip also.

I have not started packing, however I do have 3 "Disney" bags going...snacks, travel stuff (neck pillows and such).

I also made the mistake of looking at the creative thread, and WOW - I have a TON of work to do to get MORE stuff together, but I am loving all of the ideas.

54 days!!!!!!:cool1::cool1:
Wow...window clings. I tried that and was promptly vetoed. :rotfl: Hubby said "he** no" ha ha ha. It's all good....less effort I have to put out. I try to stay away from some of the other threads simply because I will become that much more obsessed.
Wait.....what do you mean I've already passed the point of no return? :lmao:

Figment Chick - it looks like our trips will overlap! We are going to be your neighbors at POFQ. :cool1:

Oh, and I LOVE Amy Farrah Fowler!!!:lmao:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Yes, I think we do overlap a bit. My family arrives on the 20th. That day is a "decompressing" day for us. We've never been the people that get off the plane and go straight to the parks. That's why we schedule so many days down there. :) Anyway......we will get off the plane, get our car and then check in to POR. Then we will head over to DTD with the car for window shopping and lunch (at Earl of Sandwich...it's tradition). Then to walmart for diapers, wipes, water, Dr. Pepper, and snack stuff (like fruit snacks and peanut crackers for me). Then....on to a relaxing afternoon and evening at the pool and the resort. We'll probably go to bed a little early (not too much, the kids' normal bedtime is 8:30 anyway). Let me know if you want to meet up while we're down there....I wouldn't mind saying hi in the least!!!!

And I am a red-headed Amy Farrah Fowler. lol And I look like your typically nerd: frizzy, curly hair everywhere, glasses and, oh yes, we cannot forget the comic t-shirt (i just bought a purple batgirl one this weekend).

Jumping in the convo!

Staying at POR Oct 24-31st. And my dollar store has rain ponchos! I think we're just gonna use them for sure if it rains on MNSSHP night (about 90% sure going Tuesday the 25th). I think the boys will throw a fit if I make em stay in the rain. Just shows that girls are definitely more tough than guys!

Thank you!!! I was thinking about doing this, but I don't think DH will be up for it. I am seriously considering getting some sort of spa treatment on our "day off" though. I'm not a girly-girl by any means, but an hour or two without the kids to do something just for myself sounds.....kinda interesting (plus, seeing the "GF spa shutting down" thing when you first pop on the DIS is giving me the idea).

We bought the nice Disney ponchos on our last trip and I saved them. The cashier thought we were nuts buying them at the beginning of the week when it was raining, but they were in the wheelchair bag and totally saved us on our last night, watching Illuminations.

Re: Amazon - I've been doing about 80% of all my shopping online for years. So I use Amazon constantly. A few years ago I invested in Amazon Prime - I pay a yearly fee and get free 2-day shipping on almost everything. It pays for itself with the gas I don't use running out to the store.

I haven't started packing yet but I have started planning the "goody bags". Last trip I did an extensive series of gifts for the family from Mickey. You can see from my sig that I totally went overboard. And that wasn't even all of it. :rolleyes1

This trip I'll be more restrained. I'm planning a small F&W welcome basket, a birthday surprise for my son and, if he does the Pirate Cruise, a pirate-themed surprise. After all, it's only a 4 day trip.:rotfl: honestly, I'm trying to direct most of my Disney obsession into scrapbooking our last trip. Well, as soon as I book a hotel anyway. ;)

PLEASE tell me how to request the Figment note????

All of the printables I used are from the awesome Creative DISigners board. You can find the general details of how to request stuff here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2430262

The Figment note is by RustManFan. The last time I checked he was still active and had an open thread for doing requests. Just read the rules at the top of the thread.

Having said that, I actually didn't need to do any requests. I found blanks by most of the DISigners at PhotoBucket and was able to customize them myself. Many of them are more than happy to personalize; I just enjoyed doing it myself. There's a post by Dolly that describes how to personalize yourself using Microsoft Word if you're interested; just search for it on that board.

I'm no slouch with PhotoShop but there's so much great stuff over there that I didn't need to create anything from scratch. I just printed it all out and made the goody bags. The DISigners are just amazing. And they can do anything -- invitations, messages, t-shirts, stroller tags, etc. I'm planning to use Dolly's Birthday Surprise for my son. And there's an Epcot passport with characters in it that I saw recently that i'm planning to print. (We did the official one last time, so I'm looking for something different.)

Seriously, this is a huge time suck. But it's a great creative outlet for all that Disney obsession. :rotfl:

I just said to DH the other day I have to start gathering everything and getting it together. I have some stuff in the Disney bag, but I know I need others. I have a list so I have to start going through it and checking off what I have and what I don't. Just went to the dollar store over the weekend and they didn't have rain ponchos, so now I need to go on a search for them. There are also some links I have saved as favorites that I want to get before we go, like a new bag and a stroller cover and such. Things I wanted to wait a little while to get. Now I need to start getting them because I don't want to have a huge bill just before we go!

We bought ours at Walmart.(ponchos) .88 for the disposable ones at the time of purchase.

I'm so excited for our trip in October. I haven't started packing yet but in my head I keep pairing together outfits and shoes. My beloved Roos will take up so much space in our bag. Of course I'm also making a list of other "odd" travel items like coffee and a Chip and Dale tee to surprise my soon-to-be DH. I should actually get out my suitcase and practice packing...is that crazy? I just want to make sure all my clothes, Roos, and toiletries fit as well as the coffee and his stuff (which to tell the truth probably won't be much). For a minute I debated shipping my wedding dress to our hotel just to run around and get a few pictures on Disney property in my Disney inspired wedding dress (once again is that crazy?). I thought one suitcase and a carry-on would do for the both of us but I might be wrong.

BTW, I hate to say it but fiancee and I are kinda like Leonard and Penny :)

I wanna be someone, too!

I don't think it is at all odd to want to take pictures of your dress in Disney. Of course, I have a huge box of stuff to take and will be stealing space in my kids' suitcases in order take my Halloween decorations to the World.:rolleyes1

 the

Hip Hip Hurray - I am going to get my Disney fix today. We are going to the Mall of America to pre-order the Lion King movie and whatever else makes me happy.:cheer2:

had a wonderful trip to the Disney store. DD got a baby simba and a wonderful Snow White T-shirt, DS got a Jake T-shirt and a stuffed Perry. DH and myself each got a lion king t-shirt. Can't wait to where them in October.

Decided to look on-line for lion king shirts for the kids and found one for each love. Also a trading pin (hope they don't trade them and also their gift cards.)

More stuff to cross off my to do list.

58 days to go! and only 9 days until I get to spend a day (only one day) at Disneyland!

I have my plastic container disney box full too. I've been buying toiletries, laundry detergent, t-shirts, gifts for my son etc., so it is pretty full! From time to time, i get it out, look at everything and re-organize it. I am crazy like that. I've already started organizing our park backpack too. DH kindly has carried it for us the last two trips. Being we had a toddler, it was pretty full with change of clothes, diapers and all of that. Now that he is almost 4, it shouldn't be as heavy now! But I already have some stuff loaded up in it- our ponchos, sharpies for autographs, lanyards and pins, a few snacks, first aid etc. ;)

I have not started packing, since I have a trip to San Diego/Anaheim next weekend, but once we are back from that, I will probably start throwing stuff in the suitcase! Of course we are still frying here in Dallas, still at triple digits every single day (shoot me now), so summer clothes are still out for a while, unfortunately (why do i live here again?)

I got William's custom shutterfly autograph book in the mail finally. It is so cute! I also got a cool Food and Wine booklet from disney in the mail today. Not sure who or why sent it- but maybe since I am DVC? Whatever the case, it is great- has the full map of the festival and all the seminars, pricing etc. Time to map out my booths to visit! I also called to see if there were any new Pirates and Pals cruises for the night I originally wanted (10/21), but there aren't. Oh well, keeping it for the 10/17 i have it then.

Otherwise, just have to buy my MNSSHP tickets and finalize my itinerary!

excited to watch all the news coming out of D23 Expo this weekend too! Does anyone else follow all the great updates via twitter/FB etc.?

Hello, everyone! iam3kats - how about Bernadette? :rotfl:

srauch....wow! you live near the Mall of America? That must be so cool. (says the geek from waaay South Jersey). I like to walk around malls....I hate the shopping and the crowds, but if I get in early and walk around with DS2 then it's all good.

exwdwcm....I know what you mean. I only have a little bag right now full of stuff, but I've actually been pulling out our stuff from other trips like collected pins, certificates the kids have gotten, and souveniers. UGH...I wish I didn't have to carry too much this trip, but DS is going to turn 3 on our trip (the 22nd) and he still isn't potty trained. Both the other two were potty trained by two and he is just being stubborn, stubborn, stubborn.

Oh, and I've got news for everyone regarding my dining reservations, but it will have to wait until I can log on at work.....I have to leave now.

I'm bummed about Borders closing down. The one by us is completely picked through. I find I have a hard time in B&N finding anything. I love Amazon, though, and they have a pretty low limit for free shipping. The Wish List feature is AWESOME and they even have an app (I'm iPhone nuts, so that's how I refer to everything now) that you can install through your browser so you can create a wish list and include stuff from other sites as well. So DD's bday list has stuff from Amazon as well as Walmart, Target, ToysRUs, etc. It makes it easy for everyone to know where to find stuff. My MIL only shops at Walmart and I know my family will go to Target and TRU, and my BIL will shop on Amazon, so it all works! :thumbsup2

And yes, I'm just outside of Philly and grew up having my summers down the Jersey shore. We go to OCNJ every year and I will raise my DD the same way! My Mom grew up in Millville, if you're anywhere near. It's completely different than when she lived there and my grandmother passed about 3 1/2 years ago so we don't go there anymore, but I have fond memories. I love me some S. Jersey beaches, though. DH is from North Jersey and his folks now live in Toms River and I keep telling him it's just not the same! Too expensive and not the same quality of sand! :rotfl2:

We'll be at MNSSHP the same night! It will not rain! It will not rain! It will not rain!!!

Thanks! :thumbsup2 I will check that out!

I wanna be someone, too!

I love Big Bang Theory, but if I had to describe me and DH in a tv show, then we're probably more King of Queens. :lmao: Although I wish we were Chuck and Sarah from Chuck! I love me some Zachary Levi!

I also got a cool Food and Wine booklet from disney in the mail today. Not sure who or why sent it- but maybe since I am DVC? Whatever the case, it is great- has the full map of the festival and all the seminars, pricing etc. Time to map out my booths to visit!

What's this now? Who do you know and how do I become friends with them??? (I would've asked how do I do something else to get it, but this is a family show folks, so I don't want to offend. :rotfl2:)

Happy rainy Northeast Thursday folks! Hoping it's cooler for the folks in Texas and the midwest and, well, still cool in the Northwest, I guess, today. 66 days!!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

Agreed!!! I "Liked" him on Facebook and reading his posts is one of my all time favorite things to do on FB. He's hysterical. I just know if he ever met me we would totally hit it off and we'd run off together. DH would understand too. I know it. :rotfl:
