***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

Quick question before I head off to bed: trying to decide if the spirit of Aloha (sp) is worth doing using the dining plan. We have two children ages 6 and 4 and I want to make sure that they can see the show. And the only categories you get with the DP are 2 and 3. Also how is the food.

thanks.

re the Aloha dinner show question...

I have done this on several occassions but before DDP...the only time I did do w/ children was back in 05...so I am not sure how much has changed since then. But we had a huge group (birthday celebration) and we were in one of the front tables...unfortunatley I can't remember how it was booked based on catergories.

But we enjoyed ourselves alot. My DD then 6 had such a love for all things Hawaiian and Stitich the 05 show had music from the movie.

I remember the food being plentiful and dellious too :thumbsup2

in re to using DDP for dinning shows...I do think you can get a good bang for your buck...we used the DDP for the HDDR last Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. we'll probably go again.

Also try to ask this question on the resturant or DDP threads you may get some kore current answers...hope that helped a bit

purchased my MNSSHP tickets this morning :cool1: very excited and looking forward to it a ton...working on a basic plan too.

we are going Tues 10-18 :hmghost:

Got word from our TA today that we got our tix for the Halloween party.

Very excited about this. It will be our first ever hard-tix event.
Anyone have any suggestions or tips?

I wish I could add another day, but I can't afford to miss any more class (going to miss one meeting of my Thursday class but going over fall break so don't have to miss my Monday class at all). So, I am already at my max :sad1:.
me too- i am going to be maxxed out on vacation between this trip, a week in the Smokey Mtns and a weekend trip to Vegas! We sort of added a day, flying out on Friday now instead of saturday, but we get in so late, we don't have time to do much other than eat.

We'll be there October 8 - 15!!!

Can I get a woo hoo??

:rotfl2:
WOO HOO!!!:thumbsup2

We'll be at the BC CL Oct. 27-Nov. 4! Our fav time to go, with F&WF going on. Also bought our tickets this am for MNSSHP on Halloween!

Even though the party doesn't officially begin until 7pm, you can use your hard ticket to get in as early as 4pm. If you do not have park hoppers, this is a great way to see two different parks in one day. :thumbsup2

I think I have all my ADR's done for our vacation wow what a hectic weekend that was trying to get everyone involved. Kids are accepting no character meals really well; considering they are 6 and 4. But we see so many characters out and have been to either DW or DL 4 times.

So please critic and give me opions on the resturants.:confused3 I don't know much about them except from what I have read either on the disboard or in books:

Wednesday Animal Kingdom 8:00 – 5:00
Counter service for lunch
Captains Grille 7:00

Thursday Oct 20 – Open until 4:00 MNSSHP
No ADR’s yet still debating on a late lunch at House of Blues

Friday Oct 21 – Epcot 8:00-9:00
La Hacienda de San Angel 6:15

Saturday Oct 22 – Epcot 9:00 –10:00
Teppan Edo 6:50

Sunday Oct 23 – DHS 9:00 –11:00
Mama Melroses’ Restorante Italiano 5:20

Monday Oct 24 – MK 9:00 – 12:00
Kona Café 7:05 (doing to try and get something a little earlier)

off topic but I think I slept through summer. Today is May 2 and it is only 34 degrees and the high was a heat wave of 40. How can I plant flowers and have summer come and turn into Autumn is Mother Nature never gets us out of Winter.

It looks like you will be in Disney the same time as us 10/19-10/25

As far as your restaurant picks the only one I have ever been to is MM which we enjoyed.

It does not look as if we will cross paths with the exception of maybe on Sun 10/23 as we may head over to DHS in the evening if a 2nd show of Fantasmic! gets schedule.

I am avoiding Epcot on Fri and Sat night since from what I have read F&W can be quite crowded and at times overrun with rowdy locals.

Are you planning on downtime back at your resort mid-day (just wondering since you have lil ones), it looks as if you are planning on hitting the parks from open to close?

I have built in rest time back at the resort everyday, DH and I can no longer do the all day at the park thing now that we are older :rotfl:

I hear ya about this crazy weather, I am wondering what October will bring, worried a little about it still being hurricane season :scared1: and whether it will be hot or coolish temps.

I went out shopping today and ended up buying 4 tops and 2 pairs of capris for my trip :yay:

Oh my thank you for bring up the epcot weekend thing I might have to reconsider those dates.

Yes we plan on breaks the only day we don't break is Animal Kingdom day, since the park closes so early.

Thinking of changing ADR's from MM to Drown Derby, DH wants to try a "nice" resturant.

Just made my first of many changes to our ADR's switched from MM to Brown Derby.:yay:

Just wondering if going to Epcot on Friday and Saturday is a mistake with little kids because because of food and wine. :confused3

:grouphug: DS really likes this guy he wants to give everybody a hug

We've done F&W before & never really had a problem. Of course we don't have small kids in tow so that probably changes your perspective on larger, tighter crowds.

Yes Epcot will be more crowded, but I don't believe that will impact ride lines as much as you might think. F&W is mostly centered around world showcase. If you plan to do rides & hang out in Futureworld you may not even notice it that much. And if you do venture back to the countries while the walkways will be more crowded (more people & less walking room due to the extra food vendors) you shouldn't have problems getting into the rides or films. A lot of F&W folks (like us) don't even bother with the rides & shops for the most part if we are there for sampling the food.

For people park hopping that would probably be good days to do Epcot early then hop elsewhere. F&W doesn't even start until 11a when World Showcase opens & even then it starts slow (speakers, tastings, etc) & the bigger events (concert & Party for the Senses) are in the evening.

The biggest inconvenience will be at the end of the day when everybody is trying to leave after Illuminations.

I prefer the menu at Brown Derby as it is quite varied and tastely JMO

What zima-cheryl said about Epcot is true, FW and the rides are not impacted crowd wise on the weekends, it is mainly WS you might want to avoid in the later part of the day on weekends (Fri and Sat night)

Awwww, right back at ya buddy!! :grouphug: This one is my favorite..it reminds me of me and my best friends!! :dance3:

I'm waiting until this weekend to buy my MNSSHP tickets (18th). I'm planning on calling WDW travel any buy through them, that way I get everything at the same time a handy holder to store all our travel info in.

So we have about 5 months to plan what to "be" for the party. DD(10) is constantly changing her mind, DS(3) is leaning heavily for Captian Hook. DH (pffft) I'll be lucky if I can get him to wear a superman shirt. I (if I drop enough wieght by then) am going to be a flirty Alice in Wonderland. I plan to take the necessary precautions so the costume isn't "offensive" to others and not worry about giving a "free show" while chasing kids around the park.:thumbsup2

this is what I was thinking (with some sort of bloomer undernieth)
