We're going almost the same time..9/30 through 10/8. I was talking to another disneyfan/co worker at work the other day. I told her I was in a panic because I only had 20 more days to figure out where we're going to eat...since our 180 day mark is only 20 days away.

Good thing she is also a disney fanatic....she just shook her head ..and gave a big sigh. She knows there is no use reminding me that we actually have pretty much another 6 mos until we're actually there.

I'll probably change my mind 10 more times before we leave...but I always feel like I have to make my ressies at the 180 day mark.

My girls are 4 and 7..will be 5 and almost 8 in October..We got a lake view studio We are kind of cheap in terms of points..we prefer to go more. We splurged last year on a treehouse for a week which was amazing..and have done a 1br at SSR but other than that we do studios. We weren't going to worry about a car on this trip since we'll be on the monorail, but since we are doing the autotrain..we'll have one anyway

Our girls have been so many times to WDW so we are trying to come up with some new ideas of things to do that are different...here are some of the things we are trying that are new.
...Wonderland Tea Party at GF
...staying at BLT
...Going to a Water Park or 2
...Disney Quest
...trying some new restaurants ie The Wave, Teppan Edo, La Hacienda..as well as some of our normal faves, Cali Grille, Kona, Le Cellier, Crystal Palace

Any ideas when October Park hours will be released?? I looked at last years hours to make a "tentative" schedule for our day...but can't wait to see the official hours.

that's awesome- we were only in a 1bed in Dec because we had my MIL and niece with us, so there were 5 of us. We are in a lakeview studio this time too! ARe you doing a certain request?

We are going to do BB one day- Will loves waterparks! for restaurants, we are trying Teppan Edo too- it's a first for us as well. We did La Hacienda in December- and while the food was just okay, our view of Illuminations was well worth it!

October park hours will be release usually by April 1st or so. BUT......they usually release them a little early. September hours were released about 2 weeks early- actually by this time last month, Sept hours were already out (well ahead of the March 1st date that is normal). I am hoping the same. Just keep checking back here. i am checking the TA site daily to see if they are out yet.

That is kind of a bummer

I can make my dining reservations April 18th and I though that usually I had park hours before I made my dining ressies..It impacts where I spend my days and thus where I eat.

edit:: looks like September hours and EMH's our out and that is 6 months away so I am guessing the Oct hours will come out in April.

Hours should be out by early April at the latest. So you should have plenty of time to get hours and plan. I am actually hoping they are released this week (like last month!). Hours are now released 6 months out- they changed that last year. and they've actually been leaking them a little earlier than that. let's hope!!

We're coming in October also ! I had first thought end of August before our kids go back to school first of Sept and after the US kids go back for crowds etc.... but I was told its SO hot and humid so I nixed that idea quick. We also just put in a pool last year and why go somewhere warm when I have a nice little holiday in my own backyard, so we're going to wait now for weather to hit fall'ish and head to WDW Oct 8-15, I'm down to 3 resorts, Carribean Beach, Colorando ( think thats how its spelled I'm a noobie lol ) or Fort Wilderness, I can't seem to make up my mind and am driving myself nuts. I am really annoyed I miss out on the 30-40% discount that ends Oct 1 but hoping something else comes up and soon, because I feel the longer I wait the quicker things are going to fill up. This has taken over my life this whole planning process and slowly driving me insane, but its a fun insane. It will be my first time to Florida and WDW as well as my husband and daughter who will be 7 when we go. Can't wait !

I requested an even numbered room on the north facing side...from what I've read on here, those are the one's wth the best chance of a MK and lake view combined It's not big deal but it would be amazing to have that!!! I wasn't sold on La Hacienda but husband wanted to try it. My kids really loved San Angel Inn when we went last time I think mostly for the atmosphere but the food was decent too.

that's what we requested in December, hoping for that MK view. We were given even number, but the furthest south we could be. i know it is only a request, but was still disappointed with that. We were overlooking the dock area of the CR. it was nice, but i had wanted the other end! plus they put us on the 2nd floor and i said no way. it was our first DVC stay and i wanted it special, not 2nd floor, she found something on the 7th at least. So you might consider asking for a high floor too if you prefer that too.

La Hacienda was good, just not great. But we had a great window view of Illuminations and loved it for that alone. you'll enjoy it.

Getting him to stay longer than 5 days was work!!!! But at least he goes and acts like he is having a good time, he does enjoy eating while we are there!!! The weather should be warm...varies though. I's right at the end of hurricaine season. The crowds are low to moderate..where to stay...is really a personal choice. Look at both places, make a pro and con list and then read reviews on here and then you can make a decision. The Poly will be close to twice the price as AK.

Hello to everyone who's joined our thread recently!

I have FINALLY updated the first post. I went through each post, line by line, over the weekend and was able to do the formatting and all this morning. Whoo-hoo!!!

I saw a couple of posts regarding October hours - they should be up around April 1st (that's my guess, at least). And as for MNSSHP - my family went in 2007. I would like to go again to get autographs of the really hard-to-get characters (like all the 7 dwarves), but I'm not going to pay the hard ticket price to experience it again. It was packed and it wasn't even a sold out night. So, that's just my take on it. We loved the parade and the villains show was so-so. The best thing??? Riding the Haunted Mansion at midnight!

I am so sorry to hear that! That's exactly why we couldn't go last year - my salary was cut (gotta love "furloughs") and I didn't want our family to experience a hardship because I was selfish enough to take us to Disney.

I'll take you off and hope everything goes smoother from here on out for you. Also, on the positive side, by 2013, the Fantasyland expansion should be just completed!

Figment/EXWDWCM : thanks guys! We are doing a "job share" program. Two days a pay period we have to take off, no pay, but we get unenployment, makes no sense to me.

the plus side, I was able to book the 7 day MR DCL Cruise for less than 1/2 the price of going to WDW. So we still get a trip out of it!!

I hope you guys have tons of fun and have a OGMS for me!!

I keep looking at my planning sheet second guessing myself about everything...do you guys do that I keep changing my mind about dining and which days to do what. Trying to decide if we should do MNSSHP..or take the girls back to Universal. They had so much fun there last year and my daughter is now obsessed with Harry Potter...she wants to watch it every day (she's 4) We really had a great time at the Halloween party last time we went during October but do I really need to spend an extra 200$ to go???
