***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

Had to post to see new ticker! Going back in October this year instead of June, need a break after two years of June trips! Going with my Mom and sister this time, should be fun!

It was mentioned that adults dress up for MNSSHP as well as kids. Can adults trick-or-treat too? My wife and I have no kids, but we'll be doing MNSSHP, and I' a *big* fan of candy, especially when it's free :goodvibes

Well, after canceling our October Trip 2010, "because we bought a new house" we are back to planning our trip for October 2011. Hopefully checking in on Thursday October 6th, and returning Tuesday October 11th. Not exactly sure where we want to stay yet. (maybe CB) we just starting planning at dinner last night. I know it’s a long ways out but I am already excited, hated missing a year….

Me, too!

It looks like we'll be there at the same time!

Now, about some of your questions -
MNSHHP - No, not everyone dresses up, but enough people, including adults do, so you won't feel out of place either way. Your kid doesn't need to bring his own trick or treat bucket; they give out bags. And you can get as many as you want.

F&W - I understand that there are seminars and such at F&W, but they may be extra. All that will be made public when the dates are announced.

I don't know the answers to the rest of your questions, but will be :surfweb: closely!
so they give you free bags- are they just plastic type bags? but heavy duty plastic? Thanks for all the great answers! ;)

good question! I'd love to TnT too!

I started looking at historical hours for my week so I can start a rough draft of plans! When do they announce the F&W dates and special events typically?

Where is everyone planning to eat and get ADRs for?

Oh, I will chime in on this one, I do have a couple ideas so far.

Since we are staying at BLT we are gonna go for a dinner at California Grill for sure, and want to see the MK fireworks from there. I also think I want to try Tony's Town square at MK, likely during lunch, haven't ever been there. We have such luck at Epcot, I will likely do 2 ADRs there, maybe Via Napoli for one, not sure about the other.

But I still have awhile, I am sure I willc hange my mind many times!! Who else has some ideas on food?

At this point we have some definites and some possibles.

Definites - Chef Mickey's
Cali Grill
Possibles - Crystal Palace
Grand Floridian Cafe
Coral Reef
*And one of the princess meals
- Cindy's Royal Table
- 1900 Park Fare
- Akershus

We are staying at BLT so we are trying to stay on the monorail line. Also, we have two daughters (4 1/2 and almost 3) so they are greatly affecting our choices.

After we get off our Disney cruise I think we are going to do a long weekend October 13-17th! Haven't decided where to stay since we will be going in May as well. Any suggestions? I am willing to do a Moderate or Value.

For ADRs, we just use TIW, not DDP, but we do like doing one sit down meal a day if possible, but no more than that. So for ADRs, i am thinking of these for sure:

  • Via Napoli lunch or dinner (loved it last time, will be our 2nd time!)
  • O'hana dinner (it's a must for us for dinner, will be our 4th time)
  • Teppan Edo dinner (will be a first time here)
  • Brown Derby lunch or dinner (will be a first time here)
  • Crystal Palace breakfast (a must for our DS, will be his 3rd time, too many to count for me!)
then i need to decide on the rest- want one more character meal (have a 3yo boy), but in the running are:

  • O'hana breakfast(never done breakfast)
  • Kona (for breakfast, lunch or dinner!)
  • Tusker House
  • Yachtsman (maybe for an adults only night)
  • Garden Grill (never tired)
any other good recommendations? I want to eventually try everything, so we are trying to add more new ones to our list. We will be there 8 days, so need 7-8 restaurants at least. I prefer to not repeat these since we recently did them and/or had bad experience or just don't want to go back right now:

  • 50s prime time
  • sci fi
  • chef mickey's
  • 1900 park fare
  • le cellier (i know, crazy, but have done it every trip pretty much in the last 10 years, time to give it a break)
  • san angel inn
  • hacienda
  • coral reef

nice choices, we love CG! never tired Tony's before. We LOVED Via Napoli, it is definitely on the list again!

Jumping into the October pool...

Just received the 40% off pin code in the mail, so I wasted no time in booking us at the BC from Oct. 23-28. Looking forward to cooler temps than what we're used to on our usual Labor Day week vacation.

283 days and counting!

If you don't mind me asking, what dates are the pin codes for? I am just curious (I can't use it, even if we get one, since we are staying on points- unless we do a night or two OOP), but i want to know how it might affect park crowds.

out of all my trips and all the online things i sign up for with WDW, i have never received a pin code directly, however, my DH (who i signed up for a free DVD and maps) got one last year. lol

Jumping into the October 2011 pool as well...It's not 100% set in stone or booked yet, but I am looking to go down at the beginning of October for the F&W & MNSSHP. I've never been there during that time of year and am REALLY looking forward to it!

I received a pin code via email, and my DH received one by regular mail. I'm not sure how he ended up with one, since I'm the one who orders the trip planning DVD and who saves hypothetical itineraries on the WDW web site! LOL, go figure.

The dates are for stays most nights:
2/27–3/5, 5/8–5/27, 5/31–6/4, 8/21–10/8, 10/23–10/29, 11/13–11/19, 11/27–12/3 and 12/11–12/24/11.

The discount is 40% off Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts, 35% off Moderate and Value Resorts.

I have never gotten a code, I keep hoping for one! Nice to hear they still have them out there:cool1:

Hi! I just booked my trip last night. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

DH and I are staying at WL Courtyard View 10/23/11-10/30/11 (at least those are the dates for now, we may stay longer). We will be celebrating our 9th Anniversary on 10/26. :lovestruc

We are usually last minute planners (our last trip we planned in less than 2 months), but we had an idea that we would like to go back this October. Our last trip was in Oct 2009 where we stayed at the WL. We loved that time of year, the resort, and F&W. So when we got a 40% off pin the beginning of this week, I knew it was fate when I saw it covered the week of our anniversary.

So now I will be joining those 'crazy people' who know where and when they will be eating 6 months in adavance. :cool2:

i know isn't it funny how they work? the one t hat my DH got, was actually in 2009 and went to my mom's address, not ours, but in his name.....luckily we had a 10 night WL trip booked with the entire family (5 rooms) and we were able to use the pin code on all the rooms- at that time it was only for free dining though (which was not being offered to public during the time we were going, although later was). go figure.

ah, good, the pin is not good for our dates (10/15-10/22), so maybe that will mean fewer crowds for me! :confused3:rotfl:;)

i am hoping for an AP offer on the deluxes so maybe we can do a split stay with 2 nights at the Poly OOP and the rest at BLt on points.
