I would love to start packing but our house is on the market so there will be no spreading things out on the beds :rotfl:

Like. Like. Like, like, like!!!! :goodvibes

61 and 55 days to go.....I'm jealous! Now if I could only start the real packing...... But my kids will be wearing shorts until we go. Gotta love living in South Jersey, where the weather is quirky.

I dont pack until the night before. :confused3

thanks for your thoughts, we are not planning on going into Epcot on Friday night, so would a better bet be take the bus from CBR to DTD, then from DTD to Yacht Club.

or a second thought how much would a cab be from CBR to Yacht; and what about booster seats we have a 6 and 4 year old.

Thanks.

We would bus to DTD and take the boat to YC. That way you don't have to go through a park. You would need to allow enough time for this. A cab would be quicker but cost and there is the car seat issue.

The boat doesn't go from DTD to Yacht. Maybe you meant hollywood studios then take the boat to the Yacht. No park entrance is required for this.

sounds great the kids will be excited to ride something else beside the bus.

A word of caution, if taking the bus from DTD to YC allow plenty of time, many on the YC/BC thread have reported it taking up to an hour to get from DTD to the resort, they advise using a cab.

If anyone is a fan of VB, there is a good sale going on I just ordered a travel belt bag for wearing to the parks for half price. Reg $30 on sale for $14.99 + tax and shipping of course ;)

Got a Pin yesterday. :dance3: I was on hold for 30 minutes and I was able to apply to my reservation. Saved 25% on a Value. So excited. That is an extra $100 spending money. WOOO HOOOO. Sending pixie dust to everyone else looking for a pin or room only code. :tinker::tinker:

I am jealous!!! Congrats for you; that's great. But even if I do get that PIN, I don't think we're going to stay onsite. It would be ~$1,425 if we stayed at POR versus $767 off-site. I just can't overlook that savings (plus the extra space for my daughter).

So happy for you, though, tigger30066!!!!!:yay:

Hi everyone! We were going to go in September, but pushed our vacation back to the end of October, hoping it will be cooler at that time. We are staying Oct 23-30 at Old Key West. This is our first time staying anywhere other than a value or off-site, I am very excited!

Also planning our first evening away from the kids during vacation as well. Dinner at La Hacienda de San Angel. Maybe a few rides on Test Track before hand, then a few tipsy pictures with characters afterwards. Who knows!

I took my grandson 2 yrs ago during F&W and I didnt drink any wine. He played Kim Possible many times and they have kidcot stations set up in every country where kids can learn about the specific land they are in and make a craft. My husband and I went last year and did drink around the world and played Kim Possible and went to the kidcot stations. We were like 2 big kids! We made some awesome masks! Theres plenty for kids 2 do, big and small!!

I have a DH that really doesn't get the magic. We have never been to WDW. We planned to go during Oct because of a better chance of good weather, Halloween, low crowds, and the F&W festival. When I was first telling him about it, he was saying that he was going to leave me with the kids and he was going to eat his way around the world. So yesturday, he was saying we aren't doing the festival because "it's all about pairing wine with food and we don't drink wine.":scared1: I'm tring to tell him that while they do have some classes that tell you how to do that, there's more to it than that. That Disney wouldn't do anything that left kids entirely out of the picture because it's a family destination. He wasn't hearing it. He was in one of those "I'm right, you're wrong, stop talking moods".

Hi Everyone..hope all of you "Octoberer's" are enjoying your summer. The DIS and the countdown are the only thing keeping me going. :) We had a really bad July, DH had a motorcycle accident, 5 broken ribs, a bruised lung, internal bleeding from his spleen and fluid from the broken ribs pushing up against one of his lungs making it hard to breathe. :scared1: Spleen was fixed and fluid was drained and all was well. A week later, back to the hospital with severe pain on his right side, kidney stones! :sad2: Thank goodness he passed it and he is on the road to recovery. :yay: Not to mention work being a complete nightmare!

Needless to say, we need a vacation and are counting the days until we get on that plane for some magic! :wizard:

Hope things get better for ya. That does sound like a nightmare. Im glad you are headed to Disney in Oct. You definately need it:)

So what was a mom/daughter trip with my mom is now a mom/daughter/aunt trip :) We will be staying POFQ Oct 2-9. I guess it all works out though as my best friend is a cast member so now I get to spend more time with him :)
This is our first F&W Fest. and I'm very much looking forward to my first trip in over 15yrs without any of my children:)

Hi Everyone,

We are taking our first ever trip to WDW from Oct 1 - 8 this year!  It'll be me, Dh, ds-7 and dd-6. We're staying offsite at Windsor Hills and land at MCO at 3:00. My question is do we buy tickets so that we can head over to the Magic Kingdom on the first. Realistically I don't think we'd get there until after dinner. The 1st is the actual 40th anniversary so I didn't know if there was anything special going on or not or if it would be extra crowded.

We are planning on doing the Magic Kingdom the next day and we have an ADR at Crystal Palace at 8:05. I think that the early morning quiet might be a great way for all of us to see everything for the first time --- but I don't want to miss out on anything --- any thoughts?

Thanks!:goodvibes
the difference on adding a few days is usually just a few bucks, so you can just buy the ticket now with more days or upgrade later like they said. I wouldn't worry about trying to fit MK in that first night- maybe head to DTD or book a character meal at Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Fare- won't require park admission and a nice way to get into the vacation spirit without running around a park. I imagine MK will be very busy that day and night. No announcements have been made about any activities, but lots of disney fan groups are planning to be there that weekend, so i bet it will be packed.

if the MK opens at 9am, then your 8am ADR is great. I would make sure you ask the waiter for your check early, that way you can have check paid and leave as soon as you are done eating to get out into the park. You can get in a little early to the MK- just go to the turnstile that says morning character breakfast reservations (or it is something to that affect). you can get a few good empty park pics before heading over to Crystal Palace. After breakfast, I would head immediately to get Fastpasses for Peter Pan and then head to Dumbo. then tackle the rest of Fantasyland- Pooh, Snow White etc. That first hour is pretty slow and you can get a lot done.

Hey everyone! I love these boards! The advice on these boards have help me plan 2 incredible Disney trips. In 2009, when my DGS finally turned 7, just him and I went. We stayed off site and took our lunch into the parks everyday. In 2010, my husband and I went for our anniversary and stayed at PC with the DDP. So, going again in Oct. with my DD age 27,DGS age 9, and DGD age 3. We booked in Feb. are so excited. I have a container that I have just been throwing stuff in like toys for our window, some really cute Disney T-shirts at Walmart for only $5!, etc. Im trying to make a binder also. I did that in 2010 and it was so helpful. Also good Disney apps on Iphone make planning easier too.
we keep a disney bin/container too that we throw stuff in all year long! ;) sounds like a great trip!

DH doesn't drink wine either. But they have so much beer to try and even beer/liquor seminars. In fact once the low cost seminar schedules are released this weekend, i want to see if there is a whiskey one. I read a trip report where someone did a whiskey one and DH would love that! Plus just the booths have awesome food to try- you don't have to pair it with a drink, in fact we typically won't, since we will have our son with us. Snkymom may have the right idea- just let him see it for himself and he will be on board i bet!

the cab to the Yacht wouldn't be far at all, but you do have the booster seat issue. most cabs won't have. the buses out of DTD are ALWAYS a nightmare and take forever. I would take a bus from CBR to DHS like someone said, then take the boat to Yacht from there for something different. but again, allow a lot of time, the boat can take a little longer, but is fun!

I am getting ready to give up a Le Cellier ressie for 4:05 on Thursday, Oct. 20. I know it is early, but I thought I would post here before I let it go.

I'll wait until 1:30 Central time (2:30 Eastern) before I hit cancel, so if you want it you can go in then and see if it shows up.;)

It's official! I'll be there with my family of 7 - myself, DW, DD15, DS13, DS4, DS2, DS4 months, from September 29th until October 10th. We'll be staying in two rooms at Coronado Springs - our first non deluxe visit (can't swing two deluxe rooms this time). Ten park days, plus a waterpark day.

We're on a pin that works out a little better than the 30% off moderate offer, so we're pleased with that.

We'll be doing the Halloween party on September 30th in celebration of my son's 2nd birthday.
