Hello, I sent a private message a couple weeks ago. Not sure if you just havn't gotten around to it yet or missed my request but I would like to be added to the October list please. We will be at Port Orleans Riverside Oct 23-29 with free dining. So stoked right now, first time on any kind of discount at all.

Thank you and hope everyone has a safe and fantastic trip.

I second that. We haven't gotten on the list yet either. Thanks for doing this.
Our hotel is switched to CBR Oct 12-16th
MNSSHP Oct 13th

I know I have been a BAD OP and not update the list. I appreciate everyone being patient with me.:worship: My plan was to update yesterday, but I have been dealing with a stomach virus and now Maddie has it. She is sleeping beside me. Poor baby. I promise to work on it today. Sorry.

Hey everybody, it's been a rough couple of weeks and I've been feeling down about some stuff. I tend to just read mostly and not post much when that happens. I hope everyone is doing well. Last day in the 60s today, I can't wait to get to the 50s tomorrow and get to the vacation already.

I'm sending you lots of  from Georgia, too. Feel better soon and we are here for you any time you need us! Love ya!

Thanks :) It's a few things from work and then some stuff has broken that has been killing my Disney fund. It'll be all right. The saying "when it rains it pours" is just fitting right now and I could use a break!

Hey Tricia - I know exactly how you feel! My super-excited, Disney-planning mood is just "broken" these days - from a myriad of reasons. So here's to getting us back in the right frame of mind.......:goodvibes

Think of a wonderful thought
Any merry little thought
Think of Christmas, think of snow
Think of sleigh bells, off you go
Like reindeer in the sky
You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly!

Think of the happiest things
It's the same as having wings
Take the path that moonbeams make
If the moon is still awake
You'll see him wink his eye
You can fly, you can fly!
You can fly!

Up you go with a heigh and ho
To the stars beyond the blue
There's a Never Land waiting for you
Where all your happy dreams come true
Every dream that you dream will come true

When there's a smile in your heart
There's no better time to start
Think of all the joy you'll find
When you leave the world behind
And bid your cares goodbye
You can fly, you can fly!
You can fly, you can fly!
You can fly!

Fantasmic! every night in October!!! Here's the link...

http://www.disneytravelagents.com/S.../pdf/ParkHours/WDW_Operating_Calendar_Oct.pdf

Now I need to see if I should switch some days around. Some people may have thier plans in place and not change because of not rechecking the calendar.

Does this new info make anyone else want to switch things up? What to do, what to do...

(FYI, if you feel like you've read this post before, I also posted it in the other Oct. thread.:thumbsup2)

I tend to babble when that happens. Can you tell my my thread count lately?? :lmao: Hang in there. We're on Disney credit at this point because of our crappy year, but I need this trip more than ever and it sounds like you do to!! :grouphug: We are here to listen to you vent if you need to!!!

Well, that makes my schedule easy. I guess I'm keeping my DHS day the same! We aren't going to Fantasmic! but I was planning on switching to avoid crowds. Now I guess it doesn't matter! :confused3

BTW - 2 months TODAY!!!! :woohoo: :cheer2::cheer2::banana:  and just for good measure :dancer:

:grouphug: When life get's rocky, just daydream about Disney :cloud9:! So excited to be getting into the 50's also :woohoo:!

:dancer: And here's creepy man! (hopefully he'll make you crack a smile and not creep you out, lol)!

So true. And sorry for your struggles. Almost everyone I know is in a similar spot. If you believe in astrolgy at all, Mercury is in retrograde for another two weeks (influences things breaking down). Then relief is on the way!Hold on, my Disney friend!

I'm sending you lots of  from Georgia, too. Feel better soon and we are here for you any time you need us! Love ya!

Thanks everybody, really :grouphug: It's amazing how people I have never met before have become friends and can help me feel a lot better. I have tears in my eyes just from everyone's comments. I really appreciate you all and your kind words.

To help me be in more of a Disney state of mind I'm thinking about reworking the schedule with F! being every night :wizard:

So now that I changed the whole schedule I'm worried that I may be missing out on too many parks that you all were going to for saying hi. Who is going to MNSSHP 10/23 and who is going 10/25???

So now that I changed the whole schedule I'm worried that I may be missing out on too many parks that you all were going to for saying hi. Who is going to MNSSHP 10/23 and who is going 10/25???

We are going 10/25. I need to rearrange my schedule. I just realized we have CP ressies 10/23 and were planning on spending the night in MK, but if there is a party there, that doesn't look like it's doable. I don't want to go there with DD and get her all excited and then make her leave on the first night. Poo. Now I have to rethink.

I feel the same way about JB after they changed my flight time from 6:30 am to 8am which just totally messed up our arrival day. We normally head to a park after checking in , have lunch then return to our room for a short rest then head out again that evening. Now I am planning on lunch at the resort, just spend time shopping there or something until our room is ready.
Missing a half day of park time ticks me off not to mention I could have booked our flights out of the airport we normally travel from but chose the one I did cause they had an earlier flight, even though it was cheaper to fly out of Hartford. :headache:

That really sucks! So far our flights have stayed the same on AirTran but I know they could change. Our TA said they tend to book a bunch and then consolidate them to make full flights.

So flip flops used to be my thing before I couldn't wear them anymore. I was a Teva Mush girl, myself. They wear down after a season in the heels, but I wore them every day, so that was expected. They're around $25 or so and you can get them at DSW or any sporting goods store and they have super comfy bases. If you need a little arch support, I like Reef a whole lot. They tend to be a little heavier, but they provide a lot more support when walking around all day. I would get Tevas again if I could wear flip flops. My sister swears by Fit Flops though and my podiatrist said anything with a "rocker" foot bed is best for your feet. That's what Fit Flops or those Skechers fit shoes are. Beware though - Fit Flops will run and stain your feet! :scared1:

I can't stand flip flops and always have trouble with sandals but everyone goes on and on about Teva. I'm going to have to head to DSW and check it out.

Justin said he didn't want to be called Justin anymore, he wants to be called JT! :lmao:

That is so cute!:rotfl:

I also got the Mickey Vampire shirt and the Mickey Lightning bolt shirt too. I though it looked very Halloween like and I don't want to wear a costume so one of these will work.

I need to head to that site and order DS the pirate shirt he wants. It's park authentic though so it's not cheap and they probably sell it at PL but I would hate to tell him he can get it there and then find them sold out on our visit. I'll just sneak in a Mickey Vampire shirt for myself. :rotfl:

Just booked an Illuminations "Specialty" cruise for OCTOBER 8!! Have room for more! There is a max of 10 on the cruise and we only have 4!!

From what I had heard it was almost impossible to book these... Well here we are less than 60 days out and I just booked for October 8th!!! :yay:

We are supposed to meet at the Yacht Club Bay Side Marina 1 hour prior to Illuminations that evening - due to Food & Wine they are saying that Illuminations will be at 10PM. so probably a little before 9 then we will all meet.

When I booked mine a few months ago they told me Illuminations would be at 9 and to show up before 8:30. Maybe I should call and double check.

Flame Tree BBQ - I love this place. They have unique food and I love the pulled pork sandwich. (I was so happy to find out I can still eat this one on a gluten free roll.) I've heard the ribs are a little fatty, but the sandwich and the chicken are outstanding.

Pizza Planet (I tried to talk my son out of this one, but no go...) As far as DHS goes, I think this is your best bet. It's hard to go wrong with pizza.

ABC Commissary (I know, plain ole CS stuff, but what else is there at HS?) - this place is awful in my opinion. I've eaten there twice and both times I thought the food was just horrendous. I've heard great things about the sandwiches at Starring Rolls, so you might want to check them out.

What she said. :rotfl:

This is my families first Disney World trip, We are going Oct 15-22! So excited! ( i went twice before i was 12 but not since and DH and DS(8) have never been, and DS(8) has never flown) DS knows we are planning a trip but told him it would be a long time b/c we need to save a little extra money, I'm going to get my parents to tell him they are picking someone up from the airport, and he has to ride with them which is not a stretch because he stays with them a lot because i work. Then when they get inside, my husband and I will be waiting inside and be all like " SUPPRISE!, We are getting on a plane and leaveing right now!" Ahh I'm soo excited! But it is SOOO hard to keep my mouth shut and not talk about it. SO I joined DISboards for an outlet!

Congrats on making it back to WDW. Word of warning. Disboards is addictive, even if you don't have a trip planned. It's a good way to get your Disney fix. You'll be there the same time as us.:goodvibes

So jealous of everyone in the 60s now. I'm at 72 today and was just thinking this morning that I'm sooooooooo done with summer. My MIL offered to come up and stay for a few days to give me a break because she knows I've had a tough year. :scared1: I told her thanks but unless she can produce some vacation time from work, that's not helping much. Dodged a bullet there!!! :rotfl2:

Have a great weekend everyone! Family reunion tomorrow with my dad's side of the family, so it should be fun. They're a bunch of characters! And by characters I mean... :drinking1

(Ha! Don't tell them I said that.)

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Question for those with little ones - DH wants to get DD a lanyard for pin trading but I think she's still too little to get the concept and I think DH will be dragging her up to CMs to trade pins. She might like picking out which pin she likes, but I don't think she'll understand what she's doing and won't understand having to give one of hers up to get one. I also know she won't wear the lanyard around her neck and she thinks she will. Does anyone have experience with toddlers and pin trading? DD will be a few months over 3 when we go.

My DD was 3 on our first trip. My son was 7 and wanted a lanyard. Couldn't get him one without getting her one. We bought the little backs that lock for the pins. He wore his a bit. She didn't care to wear hers but she loved the pins and really put a lot of effort into picking out a couple. I found the kids would still knock the pins off even with the locking backs and was afraid to let them wear them after that. However they now hang in their rooms and are regarded as a special treasure from their first trip. Did that help you decide? :rotfl:

We were planning on going mid-October. We were going to get tickets through the YES program. I've been waiting on "official approval" from my boss for the time off. I checked the site this morning and the class was open. I got the approval from my boss this afternoon. I went back online to register and the class had closed. :sad1: I am literally crying. I don't know what we are going to do.

I'm so sorry. I would be crying too. I hope something else comes along and you get the deal that you need.:tinker:

Well POO! I was going to do the dinner and Fantasmic but the calendar I had said there was no Fantasmic. Instead we are going for dinner at Cape May at 5 so I think that will be plenty of time to get back to HS. All these times we have been to HS I have never seen it. I have had to leave with wining husbands or children. So this will be awesome!

Grrr... kinda throws a wrench into my plans. I may push back my Brown Derby meal for that day to a later lunch so we are not eating and having as long of a break between the meal and the show (lunch is currently at 1:30pm). I had actually HOPED this would happen at the beginning of my planning... now not so much lmao. I have an 8:30AM KTTK tour the following morning so it was going to be an early night... but the show is at 7:30pm so that would still be pretty early...

I don't know what to do!!

When I booked mine a few months ago they told me Illuminations would be at 9 and to show up before 8:30. Maybe I should call and double check.

I was wondering about this too because we are also doing the cruise on Oct. 8th. It does say Illuminations is at 9pm on the DIS. However the Unofficial Guide Touring Plans and (official) Disney websites both say it is at 10pm. They probably extended the hours because it is a Sat. night + F&W festival = big crowds. :)

Actually I went back to check and it looks like Epcot hours are 10pm on most Saturday's during F&W and the other days (except EMH) are the regular 9pm.

Now who is saying Fantasmic is every night in October? Our own WDWinfo does not even post that
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours/octfw11.cfm

I am skeptical about that information because it has been years since fantasmic was on every night in one month. I would make sure to confirm that before you book around thinking it is every night.

Not sure if you know, but they are showing F! every night all summer through Sept. and there was speculation that it would be extended. 99.9% sure it's happening, but, there is still that .1% that I'll hold on to for a bit.:rotfl:

It's been every night for a good chunk of the summer and will continue to be every night at least through September. The site that is showing the change is the travel agents site. This is one of the few sites that is generally correct. They are also the ones who have the original park hours up before anyone else, even Disney. So, I would more likely believe them then any other calender out there (even WDWinfo and the official site).

Touring Plans has it posted for Oct. too. They are saying that they will have the crowd calendars updated soon.
