My friend from England went to the Disney store in London and sent me and DS the cutest stuff! She got us a double decker bus piggy bank, and Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto are all on board. I told DS he could use it to save his pennies for our trip. :lmao: He just wants to play with it.

I got a London/Mickey pin in the mail yesterday too!! Wonder if I have the same friend as you! :thumbsup2

Happy Independence Day all! (And happy Canada Day for those who celebrated on the 1st!)

Well, Airtran has started messing with my flights already. Our flight down got bumped BACK an hour. :headache: Our flight home got bumped back as well but only by 15 minutes. What makes me mad is our flight down is now 11:30 AM, but the soonest flight before our is 7AM and the flight after ours is 1:35, so it's not like we have much of a choice to switch. Our 10:30 flight would've been perfect for us! I'm so mad!!

I'm hoping they change it back or bump it up two hours or something before we go. I don't want it bumped back again. We have park tickets that day and I don't want to lose any more time than we already are! Hopefully this won't be a practice that transfers over to SW with the buyout!

YAY!! Add me to the list. Going Oct 22-29 staying at CSR for the first time. It won't be the Poly but the price tag sure is easier:goodvibes

Add me! Wahoo!! We will be there first week of OCT!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

I will have to back read and see what everyone is doing to plan.

Hi there...can I join in the list? We didn't expect to be coming to WDW again so soon after our visit last year, but had some things in life change for our family :teacher: and take us a different path which freed us up to come enjoy WDW again! (and cover everything we missed the first go round...even with maps, guides and an itinerary, that first visit was overwhelming....in a good way :rolleyes1)

I will be there with DS and both DDs. DH will be on a fishing trip on the other side of the continent, lol. :) We are arriving 9/28 and staying until 10/8. We plan on taking part in the Homeschool Days and other YES programs that week, although I haven't been able to register/purchase the tickets yet. Waiting patiently for them to be released. :surfweb:

We will be at Fort Wilderness again this year and can't wait. Site already reserved and mostly paid for. Yay!

I can't believe how much I love WDW now, after 38 years of NEVER going. Last year was the best trip, and there is still so much we never saw or did, so I can't wait for us to do it again. Look forward to getting to know other DISers. :hippie:

I have always wanted to surprize my family, but I can't contain my excitement or keep a fun secret!!!!! Perhaps your "reveal" will be the next Disney commercial! Enjoy!

Welcome to all the new people! Glad to have you here.
We are surprising our kids the day of, too :)

How was everyone's holiday weekend?

Hello :wave2:

I was introduced to this thread by tlenzendorf - Thanks!

We are staying in a 2 bedroom villa at Saratoga from 10/23-10/30, and attending MNSSHP on 10/27. It will be myself, my parents, DH, and our two DDs who will be 5 & 6 when we go.

We have not told our DDs about this trip. We plan on waking them up the morning of, taking them downstairs, and letting them open their HUGE suprise boxes! I have a new camcorder to record their reactions - I'll def. be posting it on here! I can't wait to tell them, and am having such a hard time keeping it a secret!!

Anyone else doing suprise boxes for their little ones? Whats in yours?

Glad to see you came on over :)

We are doing a surprise, too, but not sure what we are doing? It kind of depends on what happens the night before. DBF and I don't have kids together, so they may or may not be at their other parent's houses. I kind of want to have them be at our house so we can "accidentally" keep them up late so they will sleep in and "miss" school, then pack them in the car in a rush and head the opposite way to the airport :rotfl: But their other parents may miss them since we will be gone so long, so they have the option of having them that night before we leave. Then it will be a little harder to surprise them! I'm sure we will figure something out.

We have a BIG box of surprise stuff to give them that we are working on filling. Here is what we plan to give them to give them hints:

Plastic Zoo Figures(staying at AKL)
Gum(for the plane ride)
Halloween Makeup(MNSSHP)
Swim Toys/Goggles(to throw them off)
Crocs
Neck Pillows
Glow Sticks
Pins/Lanyards
Disney Books
MNSSHP tickets(ones that I make on the computer)

And then finally I will give them the itinerary!

Love your list!!! So far I have....

Glow in the dark necklases, bracelets, and wands.
Disney paint sets (for the hotel)
Disney coloring books and crayons
2 costumes each (we are doing MNSSHP as well as CRT so I wanted them to have their choice of what to wear to each one)
Minnie Mouse ear & bow head bands (got one for myself too :rolleyes1)
Princess lip gloss
Tinkerbell outfit with velcro wings on the back
New princess PJs
Princess mirrors

My major problem right now, is deciding how much is actually going to go in the suprise box, and how much we are just going to pack, and let them find it once we get there. It would be great to have the costumes in the suprise boxes, but we are leaving within 20 minutes of waking them up, so packing them into a suitcase with that time isn't really practical... Maybe I will tell them about the costumes, but tell them they have to find out which princess they get when they get to Disney - Keep the mystery going! :wizard:

Your list sounds great so far! :cool1:

Even though all mine are older and don't really have the same excitement that smaller kids would have about WDW, they still love surprises and they still love family vacations and so I try to capitalize on that as much as possible. :) I have always liked packing extra surprises in their bags so they find them much later on when they are least expecting a surprise. I also would pack in layers since kids usually don't really unpack anything, they just seem to always open it up and root for the pajamas the night of arrival and then pay more attention to their stuff the next day (or if my DS..2 days, lol). :rolleyes1 Last year I had DD new Tink pajamas, and I packed them in her bag just under what I thought she would want first (swimsuit). She was so surprised, since she thought her backpack of goodies was it for the surprises. This year, to save money from buying outfits at the boutique (OMG...that was a hunka change!), I am going to pack new costumes in my own stuff and then stage it as a surprise while kids are at pool. :ssst: I like spreading the surprises out...especially for later in the vacation when grumpiness may set in with each other. Amazing how a little surprise like play-doh or a simple little one package art project (Michael's sells great ones for $1) makes them all smiling with each other again. :dance3:
