I am hopeing to be able to get a reservation for the Wishes Dessert Party too, but we will be having dinner at 'Ohana so if I can't get a ressie for the WDP will watch Wishes from the Poly Beach(DH preference since he hates the crowds at MK for the fireworks)

I've always wanted to watch Wishes from the Poly beach! I'm trying to figure out if I should do that the 2nd night of our trip, which happens to be October 1! If MK is really crowded, I might just do that, my DH sounds like yours, he hates crowds during fireworks...actually, crowds of any kind!!

I made my ADRs today!! Well actually, the family that I'm going with made ADRs because my day isn't until Friday....

September 29
6:50 Beirgarten - 7 people ~ us with my family (DSis, DBIL, DNiece, DMom and DDad)

September 30
5:10 'Ohana - 5 people ~ us with DH's family (DBIL, DSIL, DNephew)

October 1
2:00 Beirgarten - 5 people ~ us with DH's family (DBIL, DSIL, DNephew)

October 2
FOOD AND WINE! No ADR necessary! :)

Not thrilled about eating at the same place twice but that's just the way it worked out since we're planning with two families separately!

Should we get a master list of ADRs going? That way we can see if anyone is dining at the same place/time? I would be happy to be in charge of updating that if everyone is interested.

that sounds like a good plan given it might be busy that night. they even sell dole whips at Capt Cooks there, you can grab one, sit on the beach and enjoy. the music piped on the beach isn't loud at all though.

congrats on ADRs! a master list sounds great, we did that for our Dec thread. :thumbsup2

Hi, Adr Q - if a park closes at 7 pm, what is the latest ADR you can make? Can I make one for 6:30/7? Also, will the buses still run when I am out of dinner or would I need a cab? I plan to do 1900 Park on one of the MNSSHP days (the day we won't be attending). I was thinking of doing this one for around 6:30/7 so I could enjoy the park until the end, head over to eat and then I guess go back towards the park to catch our bus back to our hotel. Is that possible? I'm assuming yes, since MNSSHP attendees will still need transportation but I just want to double check.

TIA!!

I would imagine that the time the MK closes wouldn't make a difference in your 1900 Park ADR...I actually don't think it would even make a difference if you made an ADR IN the MK and are not attending the party, you would just have to leave after eating. As for the buses, they will definitely be running! :thumbsup2

Sounds like our DH would get along great  I have nixed my original plans for Fantasmic since DH and crowds don't mix and for a 25 min show we decided it won't be worth all the waiting and then dealing with getting out at the end.
As far as MNSSHP a part of me wants to go but this trip was suppose to be all about the F&W so I will probably have to be content with seeing the Wishes, I was trying to fit in maybe doing one on the Poly beach(Hallowishes) and the dessert party for Wishes but I can not make it all work :rotfl:

THANKS for the info. I want to do 1900 Park @ 6:30/7:00 on a night of MNSSHP and stay in the park as long as possible (until the party begins). Then on the day we do DHS it closes at 7 but I want to do Mama Melrose and again, we usually don't eat until 6:30/7:00 so I'd like to make my dinner reservation as close to that time as possible and was hoping that I didn't need to make it at 5:30 or 6:00 and lose park time :). Now I can max. my park hours, still eat when I want and catch the bus back to the hotel after dinner. :)

THANKS!!

What time would you make an ADR at 'OHana to watch the fireworks from the Poly beach? That sounds so nice I'd like to try that on this trip.

Count me in on the Wishes Dessert Party too!! October 12 is my dad's 59th birthday and we're going to do Boma for breakfast (his favorite meal of the day, lol) and Wishes Dessert Party. Fingers are crossed that they continue it!!!

12 days until I get to make ADR's!

Yay for ADR's! :cool1: I get to make mine on April 12. Getting a master list together sounds like a great idea!!! I love hearing what everyone else is doing.

I am planning on Bomas for breakfast one day also, I have been in 2006 with a friend but DH has not, we were suppose to stay at AKL last year then had to cancel the trip so I am hopeing DH will fall in love with AKL and we will then book another trip for 2012. His favorite resort is WL so I think he will love AKL just as much. DH and I are both fans of breakfast one reason we are trying the DxDP this trip so we can do our TS breakfasts and not use up all our credits

I'm interested! Thanks Nikki!:flower3:

So jealous of all you that are making your ADRs already - I have to wait until the 25th.:sad2:

My DH and I were just talking about WL and AKL yesterday. We stayed at AKL for our honeymoon and absolutely fell in love with it! :love:Because it's the farthest from the parks, though, we're going to wait until DD is past nap stage before staying there again. Next time we want to go during the holiday season and stay at WL. I mentioned to DH that while I know I"ll love the Poly this year, I think WL and AKL suit me more because they have such a comforting feeling to them. The lobbies of both are magnificent!:goodvibes

i was just asking the same question on another thread. lol- we want to enjoy DHS as long as we can, since it has an early closing most nights- 7pm. I am going to try and make a Mama Melrose ADR for 7pm or 6:50pm. I believe most restaurants will accept reservations up until closing time, but not after (of course if you are running late, I am sure there is a little cushion). for 1900 Park Fare though, you could schedule that whenever. If you want to enjoy the MK up until 7pm.........but I would schedule it for 7:30 at the earliest. You will have to take the monorail loop all the way around if you choose that method of transportation which will take a while, i would think maybe the bus is faster or boat? You need to take into account the transportation time to get over to the GF. according to the DIS, 1900 closes at 8:20pm. Meaning, they will take ADRs up until that time i bet.

Sounds like our DH would get along great  I have nixed my original plans for Fantasmic since DH and crowds don't mix and for a 25 min show we decided it won't be worth all the waiting and then dealing with getting out at the end.

we are the same way- i don't want to fight all those crowds either. I've gotten caught up on accident in the mass exodus afterwards. We were over near ToT and those bathrooms and suddenly these people were pouring out from nowhere. it was scary, how crowded it was. no thank you!

What time would you make an ADR at 'OHana to watch the fireworks from the Poly beach? That sounds so nice I'd like to try that on this trip.
depends on the night. If it is a non-MNSSHP night, Wishes is usually at 9pm. If it is a MNSSHP night, then HallowWISHES is at 9:30pm. I would plan being there 30 minutes before to grab a spot and earlier if you want to grab a snack from Capt Cooks or a dole whip! please note, i couldn't hear the music very good at all, it was pretty low.

Aw man, have fun at AKL -- I'm jealous!! We've got to stick with moderates so we're doing POFQ. But one day.... :cloud9:

We're going to take a taxi to AKL for Boma and then catch the bus from there to AK for the rest of the day.

I hope they put some more in there! Like from 9/29-10/2...those are the nights I will most likely be in Epcot and no one is listed!

In 2009, we saw Starship and they were soooooo awesome!!!!

LOL I did the same thing with my DH on our November trip! I had us go to Boma for breakfast one day and then walk around AKL, hoping my DH would love it and he did, and now, that's where we are staying on this trip! I tried changing our reservation to the Beach Club, where we stayed on our Disneymoon, but he made me change it back to AKL! I can't wait to try AKL, I'm just nervous about the distance from the parks!

I love WL, and I think I will love AKL just as much, you are right, they are both so comforting and home-y feeling!

I can't wait to see who is going to be there for the first weekend of October! It should be someone good, considering it's the 40th anniversary of WDW and everything!

exwdwcm....thanks. I think I'll try for 7-7:30pm. It's a night with the Wishes. It won't be our only night to see Wishes, so I thought one night it would be nice to watch from the beach even without hearing the music :)
