Now i regret not booking Ohana ADR for 10/9/11. We decided to travel Saturday and stay off site so we can check in early Sunday. I thought we could fit 1 ADR in. Well my plan was Sunday to leave the off site hotel by 9am checked in AKL and go to AK till our room was ready. Once it was ready go back to room unpack then head for dinner at Ohana around 5 or 6 then MK for night time shows and EMH.
Good plan right?
But there are no ADR's for Ohana :(
Oh well we will find something tasty to eat and still have fun :)

Keep checking I am almost positive something will open up for 'Ohana, watch the October cancelled ADR thread too.

What about making an ADR at Kona until you can snag one at 'Ohana, I have never been there but I have read the food is similar? :confused3

I am in the process of switching around my park day plans since I have now decided to skip AK this trip, well as of right now anyhow :rotfl:
So I have been changeing around a few of my ADR and even changeing where we will eat.

I will be done once DH decides if he wants to do San Angel, Teppan Edo or Tutto Italia, I have to eliminate two of them since I added Yachtsman SteakHouse and LTT on our MK day and added Fultons(OOP) instead of Raglan Road.

After I posted last night i decided to watch for Wishes Dessert party to opne for reservations. I think that would be perfect since Sun Oct 9 is pm EMH, MSEP and Wishes, Columbus day weekend, and most of the rest of the week in MNSSHP. I expect MK to be crazy busy. But I just want to see the fireworks the parade and walk around to enjoy the shops and a stop in if places are not packed.
But I think it would be awesome to arrive and shop main street walk around the castle hub then go to a dessert party! Of course most people will leave after wishes and we can snag some rides in those late late hours.

Hey guys,

Thought I would write a little trip update.

I saw some ladies on here talking about the Haunted Carriage Rides at Fort Wilderness. I searched for it on the Dis, asked those guys some questions on the Official Carriage Rides thread, and decided to book a ride on Monday, October 3rd at 9pm. (That was the night I had planned to see F!, but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen. Sorry DFi, it doesn't look like F! is gonna happen for us. Next trip - here's to wishing - we'll try to book a F! package! Mama Melrose sounds delish! And I don't want to have to wait forever...) But guess what y'all? I haven't told him about the Carriage Ride! Its going to be a total surprise! When we walk back to the busses after dinner, I'm gonna get in the Fort Wilderness line instead, and say "Surprise!!"

So I ordered my fiance a personalized Phineas and Ferb towel from DisneyStore.com. (He loves that show!) I already have an Ariel one. I thought it would be cute for going to the pool, and they had a good deal on them a week or two ago. The towels were on sale, and then I got free personalization. Well, I got the towel last night, and his name was not on it! I just got off the phone with DisneyStore.com customer service. They were super nice! They are going to send me a second towel with his name on it free of charge, and I don't have to send back the first one! I don't know what we'll do with two towels, but who can't use a second beach towel?? This is further proof that I love Disney!!

Also I am searching for flights like a crazy woman!! My problem is that I have such specific dates and times, because we have to fit in the morning-after-our-wedding brunch first. Today I saw flights for $250, but I'm going to keep waiting it out. I have over four months yet... It makes me nervous though!

I don't think I'll change any ADRs as of yet. I like everything so far.

Thanks for listening to me everyone!!

Nikki- thanks for update as always!

Rorey- congrats on the upgrade- yeah for BC!!!!! :thumbsup2

FutureMrsIncredible- we got the personalized mickey towel for my son. :thumbsup2 good luck on the flights, that was driving me crazy until we finally just bit the bullet and booked. i am picky on my times too usually, so it makes it a lot harder!

Deposit on WBC - Check
Booked Flight - Check
Booked Car Rental - Check
Booked 3 ADR's - Check

Now we just have to try and get Le Cellier (for lunch or dinner) on the 20th. I'll keep trying... last year we got one with a little patience. :rolleyes1

I barely touched my ADRs after making them on April 22 but then I started tweeking my times here and there then we decided to skip AK this trip since it is our least favorite park so our second day changed totally and we also shifted around some of the ADRs, then changed our first days plans slightly since we moved going to DTD to our previous AK day anyway I think we are pretty well set now.

Still planning on heading to the second show of Fantasmic! (hopefully they will schedule one, but I am pretty sure they will ) and still gonna wait on MNSSHP till closer to October. I would love to do the haunted carriage ride but getting to and from FT Wilderness can be a hastle and usually makes DH grumpy when we have gone to HDDR :rotfl:

DH is more involved with the trip planning than he ever has been before, I think he is bored since being retired.

He went to the opthamoligist today and found out he has cateracts which he needs to schedule an op for. The Dr said DH is kinda young to have developed them but it does happen. They will put some type of inplant lens in his eye when they do the surgery. Better him than me, the thought gives me the willies

I'm BACK!! :cool1: Working so much these past 2 weeks sucked all my energy! I have slept 3 days straight. Although I did take my 4 wheeled baby to the car dealership for an oil change and other stuff needing to be fixed on Monday morning, you should have seen me, the mechanics must have thought I was on something. LOL. Anyway, my car is ready to be picked up and I will work on the list later this afternoon. See ya'll then. Missed you all. :)

My Dad had cataracts apparently from his mid-20s. I'd always known him with glasses and then one day in his 50s he shows up without them. He apparently just had cataracts and when the docs removed them, he could see fine. Hasn't needed glasses except for reading since! Good luck to your DH! :thumbsup2

Welcome back Shannon!:cheer2:

Welcome back Shannon!! :woohoo:

lmc318 - Your dad's story is like my moms. She has cataracts and has worn glasses her entire life. When she has her surgery they will be doing Lasix as well to correct her vision, so she will no longer need the glasses. She is 76 and it will be soooooo weird to not see my mom with glasses anymore.

Sheila - prayers for your DH that everything goes well!

Well it's official we are changed to Beach Club!!! We were waiting for Disney to hand over the ressie to the AAA agent and it was completed this morning! :cheer2: I will be changing some of my ADR's to accommodate the new resort, but I'll pm you Shannon will all my updated info for the thread, so you don't have to go searching for it.

Our next step is to start getting ready for our annual yard sale with the in-laws so we have some extra spending money for Disney! I love having yard sales so I look forward to this time of the year. :wizard:

Heya Oct Buddies :wave2:
Ok so my itenarary is:
Sat Oct 8th 2011: Travel, check in cheap hotel for sleep
Sun Oct 9th 2011: Leave cheap hotel 8am Check in AKL Kidani by 9. Leave car packed in parking lot go to AK to wait for room ready text. Get back to AKL around 3 and head to room unpack shower rest whatever else.
Then either:
A) Hold out for Ohana dinner at 5 to 6 time slot and go to MK for Night shows and EMH
B) Wait for Wishes Dessert Party dates to open and book ASAP after they show up

Whatcha think? We LOVE Ohana food but it takes time away from park and it is currently booked for this night. Dessert Party kills 2 birds with 1 stone in that we get YUMMIES and a nice viewing location for Wishes on an night that very well may be :crowded:

I just got home from running all my errands for me and the kids. I sat down to work on the list and all of a sudden feel drained of energy and now I think I am going to bed. I promise, tomorrow I will get the list updated. Good night my October thread family.

I have to tell DH about your Dad. The doctor told DH his vision may improve with the intraocular lens he will implant after the cataract surgery. Thanks for the well wishes

Same with DH he has worn glasses since he was little, he did have contacts at one point but then tired of all the upkeep back in the day so he went back to his glasses. He talked about going the lasix surgery but just never did. My one Ddil had the lasix surgery and the results were wonderful

Neither DH nor I had heard about the intraocular lens inplant until the Dr told DH about it yesterday. If it works he is going to be so happy

Only 134 days left till i'm on my way to Disney! I can't wait! I dont' know why i have randomly become obsessed with this vacation again this week. I have so much other stuff to do but i end up on these boards for hours!

So anyone on here live near Philly or know it well? I am planning a quick weekend trip to Sesame Place at the end of July and we are spending one night by the park and another night in Philly. I have enough points on my starwood account to stay for free at a sheraton/westin/starwood brand. Anyone have suggestions to what part of the city is the best and what i can do there with a two year old to keep busy?

I had lasik as well and it was the best thing I ever did. The moment I sat up from that 15 minute procedure I could see the clock on the wall (which I hadn't been able to see when I laid down) and almost cried. The surgery is even better now in that they no longer have to cut your cornea (which I had to have done, although didn't bother me at all). If you have flex spending through either of your work it covers lasik, so it's certainly something you can save for pre-tax without much of an impact. It's completely and totally worth it. I don't know if your DH will be able to get it with the implant, but if he can and finds after the surgery his vision is not where he wants it to be, I would highly recommend it. Changed my life for sure!!! :woohoo:
