OKAY....at the risk of being labeled an idiot....could someone explain to me how F&W works? Do you have to buy tickets to attend? Do you need to buy food/booth tickets to exchange for food/drinks at the booths? Do you use cash/room keys? Can you just meander around and buy something if you think it looks good?

Are the booths set up 7 days a week or just weekends? Is it only in the evening or also during the day?

I guess I need the Food&Wine Festival for Dummies answer;)

It's all day every day (well as long as World Showcase is open) and you do just meander around and buy something that looks good! You don't have to get tickets to attend (other than your park pass) or tickets for the food booths. It's very easy and delicious!

Now I'm off to find a list of the food/booths because I have been waiting and I didn't realize they were out!!!

Exactly, nothing toooo funky and lots of frozen beverages :drinking1
I went back on my master food and wine list and added in school bread from Norway, an original margarita w/pomegranite floater from Mexico, Kaki Gori from Japan and Peach Oolong Schnapps tea from China to the list.

TY I have to go check it out , can't print out much now unless I do it in B/W since my color ink is empty :rotfl:

I am excited though now something else to plan

I have a list with some things I have never tried before like the school bread and the Kaki Gori....did you see they are opening a new booth where they sell the Kaki Gori?

Unfortunately I can not do alcholic beverages so my F&W is all about the Food minus the Wine :rotfl:

Same here!

86 days to go! I want to start packing but our house is on the market so I can get suitcases out yet :rotfl:

Ooooh, no I didn't know that!

Hey, I'd be just as good with just the food even if I couldn't do the wine!

We don't have the DP and aren't doing any ADRs or doing any meal planning that day. If we are still hungry or the kids are hungry(they are WAY picky) we will do a CS meal.

So I have not been posting/following this thread very much...but I figure all of you could understand my excitement when I say... We are officially in the 60's now :yay::dance3::yay:

This has been a very non-obsessive planned trip, which is unusual for me :rotfl: I have just been too busy. NOW it's time for me to get my butt in gear. We have not even decided if we are going to MNSSHP, although my DS12 told me this morning if we go he wants us to dress as Harry Potter characters. I'm not so sure about that....just seems wrong for a Disney park. ;)

Is anyone doing Tables in Wonderland? We are trying it for the first time...
Here are the reservations we've made so far for our 7 nights:

Breakfast
Captain's Grill
Crystal Palace
Kona Cafe

Lunch:
Tusker House
Le Cellier
Liberty Tree

Dinner
Raglan Road
Rose & Crown
Ohana

I'd be really interested in hearing your opinion when you get back! I am thinking of getting one when we go in January since we will have two trips in 2012 with the 4 of us. In theory it looks great, hope to hear good things from you and anyone else who uses it!

I am in the same boat with the "wine" part of food and wine. I can have a sip here and there, but I can't really "plan" on drinking anything. A lot will depend on how I feel that day.

That is the link to the list and the .pdf that Disney sent out.

79 days until my trip! So excited!

OMG!!! :woohoo: I am still at 90 days today... :sad1: It's killing me to see all the low numbers you guys have!! :headache: But, when you are all back from your trips, I will still have mine to look forward to...sorry, :flower3:

A lot of those pictures made me say YUM! But a few made me take items off my list... The Singapore Sling(It's a beer, I thought it would be a fruity drink), the Veggie Curry from South Africa(just not my thing), the Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Purée from Argentina(the green stuff scares me! :scared1:) and the Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Baileys Irish Cream Ganache from Ireland(it's like 2 bites!).

I also had to add the Xante Sunshine Cocktail from Scandinavia.

We are on the DxDP and I said to DH a few times about downgradeing to the DDP but so far he is reisisting. I have 4 evenings planned for F&W so I am planning on spaceing out our sampling at the food booths since we do have a few ADRs planned at Epcot.
On our arrival day will be are main F&W expierence, I plan on us heading over to Epcot about 5 and start hitting booths until they shut down, it is EMH so I made the latest ADR for Via Napoli I could get 9:30pm and I figure if we can't eat all the pizza we can take it back to the resort with us. They do have doggie bags in Disney right? :rotfl:

Our other evenings there I figure we can hit a booth or two and share if we feel like it before or after dinner since most of the offerings are small.

Our last full day I have nothing planned for the morning so my thought is to maybe head over to F&W when WS opens and again hit a few booths

79 days until my trip! So excited!

I take quite a few meds so no drinking for me, but I did already tell DH I might want a sip or two of his. Since I gave up smoking I do not even crave so much as a beer anymore. Food now that is a different story :rotfl:

The Singapore Sling is a fruity drink - it just has a beer coloring in the picture. They were created in a hotel in Singapore a long, long time ago. Very good!;)

We have ADR's for Cape May on Friday morning wondering if we can go through Epcot and get to the Beach Resort or do we have to take the bus to DTD and then transfer.

Our ressie is for 9:45 and Epcot opens at 8:00.

Hope this makes sense

As long as you have a park ticket, I don't see any reason why you couldn't walk through Epcot to go to your ADR. We did that once to go to dinner at the Boardwalk.

We are planning on being at Epcot for rope drop ride Soarin then head out for breakfast.

Is Flame Tree worth cancelling a sit down ADR for?

We ALWAYS do Flame Tree - it's one of my DH's favorites!
Each CS meal is large enough to split.

Yep - we do this all the time because we like to avoid the busses when at all possible:
Monorail to EPCOT
Walk through Future World
Walk to International Gateway
Grab boat to Beach Club/Boardwalk/Swan&Dolphin/DHS:thumbsup2

Wahoo, 78 days for us!

I love the F&W fest and looking forward to it. What we did last time was not plan a lunch for our Epcot day, instead we walked around the World sampling all the food-we used our snack credits for this-as I think you can really get a bargain if you choose wisely ;)

On Flame Tree, its always been a favorite CS, but I heard its gone downhill a bit in the last 2 years. And they took away the corn muffin-that was my sole reason for eating there, LOL. I think the food is ok, and its a good central location. Just watch out for the birds!

We added two extra days to our trip so, we'll be at Coronado Springs Oct 14-16, then checking into WL 16-22.
