OK. I've been the planner of the family, on the DIS every day. The Disney Lover. My DH never seems too into it. When I mention anything about our trip, he acts as if I'm obsessed! Imagin! Anyhow, 2 days ago he's on the computer, Google Earth, and says "sit here and watch this, you might see something you'll like". It's where it jumps all around the world stopping at different locations, one being WDW! (Of course I had seen this before, but he thought he was very clever. So I checked it out for a bit.
Then, yesterday, he says "Did you know that they have special Halloween parties/festivities during the time we're going?" Wow really!?! I just kind of laughed, and said, "I'm on the Dis boards for at least 1 hour a day, yes I did know."
Anyhow, I now know that my DH actually might be a little excited about our upcoming trip! Or he just couldn't find anything but the Birnbaums guide in the "library", to read!!

My hubby is overly obsessed with Google earth. He doesn't "like" Disney but he loves to look at on google earth...HMM...I think they like it more than they let on..maybe being a Disney fan isn't Macho enough!!

35 more days!! Can't believe it! I got my corrected ME tags yesterday! Time is flying! I plan on working on my Pre Trip report some more later tonight. I will let you all know when I get it going again!

I know that sometimes Disney will add a second, later Fantasmic show on certain nights. I saw on the main board that they added some in September...does anyone know where to check for this info? It'd be great to know prior to arrival if they were offering any 2nd showings while we're there in October. Thanks!!

We are going on our first WDW vaca........POR Oct 14-17!!! Anyone ever stayed in Alligator Bayou at POR? We are super excited!!!

I get the whole "too macho for disney" thing. My boyfriend also likes to whip out the whole "too old" for disney. After i took him on his first trip in january he's still sort of miffed, thinks its all overrated, and not really looking forward to the trip in october (though when we got home in jan he said "when are we going again"? I think not being excited is all an act!). He said he's more just looking forward to the time with me, which is sweet and i guess the best i can get hahaha.

That's hard to do, isn't it? If you're like me, its hard to remember sometimes that my little boy isn't a little boy anymore and its time to start treating him like a young adult. Where did the time go?

So happy for you! I would just pretend I didn't know as much and let him "inform" you about some stuff. Then he'll feel good!

I remember you from a "who's going in January 2009" thread....how funny that you are also going again in October! Where are you staying this time? I am at AK Kidani.

Love that your DH is finally getting into the spirit of things!

Don't know about you but I'm overthinking the weather. Will it rain? Will we hit a cold snap? Will we melt......well no, not actually worried about that. Goodness we do live in AZ! Have pulled out our old WDW ponchos & have talked DH into putting them in his carryon. Yes, I'm making my hubby carry a bag; everyone is for that matter. I'm worried about going over the 50lbs per bag penalty

So are you bringing another first timer?

I figure the weather will be perfect, of course! Anything under 95 should be good. It was 112 here today.
We'll bring our ponchos, and shorts, t's, capris and our swimsuits. I'm packing light and doing laundry in our room.(DVC 1 bdrm- yay)
This will be DGD2-3/4's first WDW trip. We took her to DL more than a year ago, and now she really knows all the Princesses and characters. It should be fun. Actually she was there in her mommy's tummy in 2006.

I've noticed that my husband is starting to get excited now that it is getting closer to time. Six months ago he would just roll his eyes when I talked about Disney ...... now he asks about all the plans that I have been making and what we will be doing while we are there. I think it helped that his boss just got back from spending a week at Disney, and has been telling him how much fun they had. He asked me to print up all of our ADR's so that he could show his boss the places that we will be eating. It is cool to see him finally getting excited about going. We were talking about the airport/flying just a few minutes ago ..... he is still a little stressed about that part of the trip (as is my son). I'm sure that they will do fine though.

cnktruitt, I am also worried about our luggage going over 50lbs.

I try to feed the Disney info to him slowly. Don't want to overload him!
We're a bit worried about our connecting flight time, but our DD and SIL are sure we'll make it. Yipes, I don't want to think about it!

You are so right. I thought about that, I need to just say, " wow that is so cool that you found that!!, I sure don't want to discourage any pro-Disney behavior!

I noticed we only got 3 luggage tags too. Guess we'll use those on any bags we check (and just carry on luggage this time).

Thanks. I found the number this morning and called and spoke with the nicest CM named Eva. She mailed out more tags today.

Yes, I am super grateful that SWA still allows 2 suitcaes per person. We will likely only have 4 for the 3 of us but I would rather have too many tags than not enough. I'm at 35 days now!!!!

Woo Hoo! I hope I get the luggage tags and all since we're staying both DVC and one night room only. Are the luggage tags for packages only? I wonder?

Thank you for this! My DS just decided 2 nights ago to join us (when we got our tags) so, I got him the same flights as us, MNSSHP tic, added him to our room, FDP, and park tics but, I need another tag and voucher for him for ME. Thanks again!

I can't believe August is almost over! Time really flies. My good friend is letting me borrow a suitcase so I don;t have to buy another one. Which means more money for Disney!

I'm so excited that Oct. is getting closer. We will be leaving WI OCt 17th and staying at HRH/US until Oct. 21st then it is off to THV from the 21st -31st. I can't wait. This summer in Northern WI has been the sorst every. I hope it is nice in Flordia.

Huge sigh on relief...my hubby told me today that he was actually looking forward to going back to DIsney. He then informed me that the less I talk about it, the more excited he gets! I swear I do not eat, drink, live breathe Disney!!
