OFFICIAL October 2009 thread - LET US KNOW YOUR PTR LINK!

Will I still get a Mickey Mail confirmation for my online booking? I seem to remember getting them in the past... with the conf # and hotel info...

Please add us to the list of October DISers. October 22-29. MNSSHP on the 27th! Can anyone tell me how to add the countdown on my post. I feel so dumb. Thanks!

So, I actually opened my DME Mickey mail and there are only 3 luggage tags...1 for each of us?? In the past they always sent 2 per person for each leg of the trip.

We are flying Southwest, which allows 2 free checked bags per person, and I know we will have at least 4 suitcases if not 5. Can I call and ask for more? It sort of defeats the convenience purpose if we can only forward part of our suitcases to the room but still have to lug the others with us :confused

We only got one tag for each of us, too. :confused3 We are flying American, which charges for even the first checked bag, so I'm hoping we can make it with one suitcase each. Although it would be cheaper for us to bring one extra bag than to have all of our bags go over the weight limit. I hope I don't need another ME tag!

We also got one tag per person. But there is no way that I'm checking more bags than that! Not now that they are charging!
We'll be staying DVC for most of our trip with a washer dryer in the room, so we will pack light.:thumbsup2 Hoping to only check one bag, if I can keep it light enough.;)

Click on someone's countdown that you want to copy. It should take you to that website to create your own countdown. Create it, copy the url or link and, paste it in your siggie. Did that help? :confused3

Eeeek! Another day closer to Disney World, ASMu, seeing the mouse, MNSSHP, dole whips, ecstatic kids, and more magic than we can shake a stick at!!!! I can't wait to spend Halloween at the World!

:banana::maleficen:earboy2::jumping1::hmghost:

35 days- but who is counting? I got my DME package already, now waiting on the other paperwork.

We got our DME tags in the mail today! 37 days to go!:banana::banana:

We also received one tag each. Since we are flying Continental (they charge for all checked luggage) we are going to try to pack light, and just do laundry while we are there. Going to be hard for our family, especially since we will be bringing costumes along as well. I just feel like I should be packing tons of clothes for the younger ones, just in case.

I have a friend arriving one day before us, she called and requested more DME tags ..... she was told that they would be mailed out ASAP. So you can always call and request more just in case.

I'm still stalking the mailman until we get our resort reservation papers with the luggage tags.

with everyone getting mickey mail around the late to mid 30 days away mark, im excited to think mine might be coming in just a couple of weeks!

OK. I've been the planner of the family, on the DIS every day. The Disney Lover. My DH never seems too into it. When I mention anything about our trip, he acts as if I'm obsessed! Imagin!;) Anyhow, 2 days ago he's on the computer, Google Earth, and says "sit here and watch this, you might see something you'll like". It's where it jumps all around the world stopping at different locations, one being WDW! (Of course I had seen this before, but he thought he was very clever.:goodvibes So I checked it out for a bit.;)
Then, yesterday, he says "Did you know that they have special Halloween parties/festivities during the time we're going?" :lmao: Wow really!?! I just kind of laughed, and said, "I'm on the Dis boards for at least 1 hour a day, yes I did know.";)
Anyhow, I now know that my DH actually might be a little excited about our upcoming trip! Or he just couldn't find anything but the Birnbaums guide in the "library", to read!!:rotfl2:

tKitty,

Love that your DH is finally getting into the spirit of things!:lovestruc

Don't know about you but I'm overthinking the weather. Will it rain? Will we hit a cold snap? Will we melt......well no, not actually worried about that. Goodness we do live in AZ! Have pulled out our old WDW ponchos & have talked DH into putting them in his carryon. Yes, I'm making my hubby carry a bag; everyone is for that matter.:goodvibes I'm worried about going over the 50lbs per bag penalty:eek:

So are you bringing another first timer?

Lol, too funny! I'm glad that your DH is getting excited about the trip! :goodvibes

I've noticed that my husband is starting to get excited now that it is getting closer to time. Six months ago he would just roll his eyes when I talked about Disney ...... now he asks about all the plans that I have been making and what we will be doing while we are there. I think it helped that his boss just got back from spending a week at Disney, and has been telling him how much fun they had. He asked me to print up all of our ADR's so that he could show his boss the places that we will be eating. It is cool to see him finally getting excited about going. We were talking about the airport/flying just a few minutes ago ..... he is still a little stressed about that part of the trip (as is my son). I'm sure that they will do fine though.

cnktruitt, I am also worried about our luggage going over 50lbs.:confused3

So excited...feels like I can finally see the pot of gold! Been waiting and waiting. I noticed we only got 3 luggage tags too. Guess we'll use those on any bags we check (and just carry on luggage this time). I've never carried luggage on the plane, so it's a first for me...just got to check the guidelines for Delta now. And we get in really late on the 6th (around 10:30/10:45 ~it's only changed 3 times so far), and the website said after 10, we'd have to get our own luggage to the bus...so I guess the luggage tags really won't matter until the return trip home?

Anyway, sooooo excited! We are getting close!

Hey Jana,

How exciting for your whole family on their 1st WDW trip! The build up is incredible, picture the "I'm to excited to sleep" ad. WDW has lived up to and exceeded our expectations each time.:goodvibes

Be sure to check into the different pirate options for your DS. He would be sure to love them:thumbsup2

Happy planning:wizard:

Anyone know the number to call for more DME tags???

We are staying 10 days and I HAVE to pack my body pillow, which takes up a whole suitcase, (no laughing!) so I imagine we will have at least 4 checked bags...thank goodness we can have 6 total for free on Southwest!!

I just realized something today. I am on a 10 lb lifting restriction until November, sigh. Being the control freak that I am, I ALWAYS am in charge of "man-handling" the luggage. Crap, I won't even be able to carry my own carry on bag cause it always weighs more than 10 lbs. I better practice handing over control to my boys :scared1:!!

Oh the things we worry about!!
