On topic: I'm still up in the air as to whether or not I'm going to make my own treat bag or not. I'm an adult so I'm not sure I wanna hog extra candy if mine ends up slightly bigger than what they give you. Any thoughts?

I have mixed feelings on this. I bought DD a bag at the Disney Store, but am not 100% sure I want to use it. I mean, realistically how much candy will she really get? And more importantly...who is going to carry it?! In the end, I might just use the bags they give us for free and use the Halloween bag I bought as a regular shopping bag. You can get more than one bag at the candy stops if yours gets filled. (of course, then you have 2 bags to carry)

I spent all day working on the book part of DD's autograph book. In the end, I am not sure I like it. Sometimes I hate being a perfectionist! Once she is in bed, I have to look at it again and decide what I am going to do. I still need to print the pages and print out the planner book. Oh yeah, and the tshirts. I'm not making a lot of progess here.

Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. I apologize for going off topic this morning but my happy mood was burst when I saw what had happened and I could not bring myself to be cheery about Disney!

Anyhoo, today I may order my groceries, I have the kids autograph pages printed, just waiting on covers and then I need to get them bound at Kinkos, still need to get ponchos for me and DH, I need to start packing..I am so not looking forward to this (I am afraid that I will see that I can't fit into last years shorts!!)

We're also staying at Pop Oct 4-10 for our 1st trip to WDW. It's also our first vacation together! We have our MNSSHP tix for the 9th! Pretty excited and wishing July was here for the park hours

Wow time has flown by! A new update, our flight time was changed by Airtran, but the good news is that we are now coming a night earlier! So we'll be at Pop on Oct 3 - Oct 10 =D

I'm soooooo excited about Disney! Kinda nervous about going to two airports to get there. We haven't been to an airport for a long while and normally we had adults that knew where to go (lol).

A friend of mine from college was killed last night in a car accident..so sad he was 29 and he has 2 small children...sad how life can be over in a blink of an eye..My thoughts and prayers are with his family I can't imagine what they are going through...but I know that everything happens for a reason...I was just shocked and in a state of disbelief so I apologize for throwing this at you guys....

So sorry to hear this. So hard to lose someone so young with a family. My DD is almost that age with 2 children. It's very heartbreaking.

I think that is my problem, he was my age and his kids are close to my kids age 4 and 2 adn I was trying to imagine explaining to my kids that daddy wasn't coming home, or he telling them that I wasn't coming home..very heart renching! Brings me to tears every time!

No worries Tracy. Thank you for the kind words but I am not so sure my shorts are going to be fitting..I have been asking my husband if my kids will be too embarrassed if I wear sweat pants everyday!!

Hey Oct DISers, I really need to catch up on this thread ..... seems a lot has been going on since I last checked in.

18 days to go for us! I have no clue why but I'm starting to get a little overwhelmed now that we are getting closer to time. I think it's because I really haven't had much time lately to sit and "plan" like I had been doing before - we went out of town for labor day, plus kids starting back to school (we home school and have had a lot going on with extra curricular activities & field trips). I'm starting to question the timing on some of my ADR's ...... wondering if I am planning to much or to little. Just thinking about all the last minutes things that I need to do, ugh!

On the bright side, time seems to be going by fast ..... we will be there before you know it.

COOL!! Glad to know there will be another DISer there at the same time !!

We hit the 30 day mark today also! We are staying at AKV for the first time since we bought in. Can't wait!

Two weeks from today we will be walking around WDW taking it all in. I have planned this trip for about a year and I can't believe its finally here!!! My husband and I will celebrate our 7th anniversary while we are there(we honeymooned in the World) and our two sons 6 and 3 will experience it for the first time. I have the suitcases lined up starting to pack stuff, numerous lists, ADR's, maps, you name it, in my Disney BIBLE I have assembled. All my tshirts, autograph books, passports and goody bags are made thanks to the many great designers here on DIS. Just completed the last costume (we are attending MNSSHP on 10-6). We are going as Tic Toc, Wendy, Peter Pan and a pirate.
I have a few things I need to print off still (all ideas from here of course) and my husband says that I have becone obsessed with planning and the disboards. I love it and he will thank me for it, I know in time. Can't wait and look forward to experiencing Disney with my children through their reactions and joy. It just may bring a tear or more to my eyes when they see Mickey and the castle for the very first time!!!

What a wonderful idea! That makes me look forward to my DF and I taking our future children to Disney for the first time! We will also be at MNSSHP on the 6th - your costumes sound great!
