OFFICIAL NOVEMBER 2017 THREAD

This gives me hope that my mood will get better. Right now I'm so stressed I just want it to be over. I've been super excited for as long as I can remember but now I feel like this trip is looming over me. Hopefully that will turn to excitement soon.
I'm in the stress zone right now too. I'm mostly happy and excited but I am also quite nervous!

I get this way too. So much to remember to do and plan I hit a wall a week or 2 before my trip and just want it all done! We leave the beginning of next week and I am in panic mode, LOL. I want to get the packing done and plans all printed out this weekend and then I think I can relax a little. I find it helpful to bring a pocket size notebook with me and write down ADR's and FP+ for each day as well as suggestions of things we may want to do that day. I also list snacks we might like in each park. This way we can kind of just go with the flow but have options if we want them. I used to plan every little thing but found it so stressful! I start getting really excited when I am done packing!:woohoo:

ME told me they were sending me 2 tags for each person since we were flying Southwest and had 2 bags free.
Oh that's pretty cool, I haven't had any clients flying SW in awhile but didn't get 2 sets sent to them.

8 days to go and I'm going into freak out mode. I'm overwhelmed by the touring plans and I feel like I have too much planned. I think I'm gonna have to sit down amd figure out what is a "can't miss and what is "if we are up for it." I want to be flexible, but after so much planning I'm worried how I will react to the kids or, more likely, my husband telling me they just want to go back to the resort and chill. After planning for so long, I'm considering just deleting the touring plans, cancelling all ADRs and Fast passes, and just winging it. :scared::badpc:
I think this is a normal stage of Disney planning!!!!

I think by the time we head there, we know we've done enough planning that our families will have better than average experiences. We sort have to leave it at that and just enjoy the trip. One thing I do- I print an bright colored index card for each day that has ADR's, fast passes and other firm commitments like dessert parties and BBB. That way, if I want to chuck the iPhone and the touring plan, I can still get us to those things  You'll find your good vibes...

Oh no! Step away from the mydisney site and take a breath. What if you keep all your ADRs and fast passes but don't plan all the other little things. I like to have an idea of what part of the park I want to be in but I keep it in my head. I don't put it on the excel sheet. This way it doesn't stress me out if we don't do it. I also try not to stress about making it to fast passes because at least there's no charge for them. I would totally stress about making it to a FOP fast pass but not my Safari one.

I'm really trying to relax this trip and enjoy the small things like drinks and food. I just read about a hot chocolate martini flight in HS. I so want to try at least one of those martinis. And the new margarita place in Mexico should be opening any day now. I hope we get to try that too.

Martinis and Margarita are exactly what I need! I just revised my touring plans and feel a little better, for now. I don't think I'd ever cancel anything, but the thought crossed my mind...

That was me a few days ago. I started to panic that I didn’t have a good plan and about the crowds and weather and I wouldn’t be able to get to do anything I want to do. I also considered deleting all of my notes and just going with it. I’ve decided to just stick to my ADR’s and FP’s but allow ourselves to change our FP’s if we want to (we hardly ever stick with our original FP’s anyways

Yeah, that's kinda what I did tonight. Trim out the nonessential stuff, especially on the really busy days.

I’m sure it will pass! I also put aside most of my stuff to put into my suitcase and I think that was stressing me out a lot. Once I packed I felt a lot better about things. I think it made it more real. No matter what the plans or crowds are, I’ll be in Walt Disney World so I’ll be happy :)

That's a great attitude to have! Thanks for the reassuring words.

A little notebook is a great idea. I think anything to get me more organized will help. Thanks!

I think this is a normal stage of Disney planning!!!!

Good to know. I was surprised how quickly my attitude changed from "OMG, single digits, I'm so excited!" To "OMG I've done everything wrong, this trip is going to be horrible!" I think I'll find my way back again.

Good vibes will come, I'm sure. Good idea with the index cards. I'm gonna have to search for a little notebook or a handful of index cards to help organize my plans better.

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. Feeling better already.

We are flying SW in January and already have the luggage tags. We only received 1 per person.
I don't like to burst anyone's bubble because you know, as I mentioned earlier, even Disney makes mistakes and consistency isn't exactly a strong point with them  but I would find it strange if they took the time to send 2 sets of tags to everyone specifically who was flying SW. Nice if they do if for anyone who requests it, but I wouldn't count on it. And if it happens - yay!

Especially when you can either cut them in half, or just call and get more so quickly. We don't even need these, as we are doing carry on only. :D

We're doing carry-on only tomorrow for the first time :scared: literally just finished packing 30 minutes ago because the last couple days have been crazy and it looks like it'll work lol!

I can't believe we went into single digits today.
Only 9 days until we leave.
I need to get the house in order so my mom doesn't see how we really live. LOL. She's coming to stay with the kids.
 My mom comes tomorrow to stay with the kids, she stays with them whenever we do adults only trips, and I do the same thing! This time though I was so behind I kind of gave up. Maybe she'll clean what I didn't get to!

So the weather is saying 80s next week. I was hoping for 70s. I swear every time we do disney they have higher than normal temps. We are some kinda jinx! Because it is cooler the other weeks in november. Oh well at least it won't be raining probably. I just worry about my mother that is 66 because she does not do hot temps well which is why we went in november compared to like September. We will have to try to stick to shade and indoor things as much as possible I guess

Yeah it did, but now I’m not bursting to tell her and we can both be excited for the next week. Plus my dd wanted new converse and my grandma got her some for her birthday. Now she can have them before the trip, break them in for the week and bring them with.

I agree about relaxing and taking it easy. I booked ADR’s but I’ve been canceling a few because as the trip gets closer my dislike of a schedule while on vacation gets stronger. I like to go with the flow and let the park happen to me. Even if I “miss” stuff, I feel like I have a more complete experience this way. Also, since I’m not able to eat much anymore my focus on food is so much less.

Though I have to say I’m on the hunt for a good dessert. Everything I had last year I thought was disgusting except this cupcake I got on Main Street. I even tried Sprinkles and was very disappointed. I’m bring enough protein snacks from home so that I can eat all the treats in the parks. :mickeybar:rotfl2:

I am a go with the flow type too with some general strategy plan but that did not work out for me because the one ADR I wanted Sci Fi Drive in was all booked. :( Should have booked it months ago. I am going to check for cancellations day of but I am probably out of luck. Boo.

This is us too! We went with my parents 2 years ago the first week of November hoping for better weather since the previous times they didn't come along since we went in July and dad can't take it. And of course it was record heat that week for the area! Thankfully he did good. They are coming with us the week of Thanksgiving so hoping for nice cooler weather :) Although DH wants hot to swim and go to TL!

I’m not sure but I think Disney holds some tables aside for walk-ins at all their restaurants. Don’t quote me on that, but it may be worth a try to just walk in and ask if they have any tables available.
