***Official November 2016 Thread***

Ok, so....what else shall we talk about while we pass the time? How about the parties (Halloween or Christmas)?

Are you doing a party this trip? Which one/what date?

Have you done one in the past?

No parties for us this year but we have done both MVMCP and MNSSHP love them both. We also have done CP in the past with Gary Sinese hosting he was wonderful :goodvibes
Looking forward to all the beautiful holiday decorations in the parks and at the resorts.

11/12 -11/19 split = POR for Sat/Sun /BLT rest. Got 7d PH b/c stupid cheap on Parksavers, expect 1 resort day, but with short hours, maybe a couple of half days.

Just joining this board. Last minute jump on the band wagon of my mom's trip. She is attending a wedding and is bringing my 6yo DD. Since they are already going and have a room and I didn't want my 4 yo DS to miss out (solid excuse, right?), I decided to tag along, using some recently earned bonus money. Will be our second time in November, prior was in 2012 Jersey Week (CBR). Loved the lower crowds, made up for ride refurb. didn't really need fastpass then, hoping same this time.

However, though I am super psyched to stay at BLT being walking distance from MK and monorail from Epcot, I am super bummed that half the nights are the christmas party @ MK (closing at 7pm Tues, Friday) and the cast party? is Thursday @MK closing at 4:30). I had visions of strolling over for one last ride and a treat before bed, but I have a feeling those open nights will now be pretty busy and we won't be watching fireworks from the hotel. still so much fun, but bummed.

B/c kids are young, not interested in purchasing the christmas party tickets for the other night, though i may soften up when I see all the fun.

Not typically into hard core touring planning, just trying to figure out a general idea working around my mom's wedding festivities schedule.

- How much to take on solo with a 6 and 4 yo (I will have them two afternoon/evenings, Mon, Tues). What should I try and do with them?

- What's even open at HS? that 6 and 4 year olds may be into. Star wars ride was cool, but that alone might not be enough to warrant a day.

- Love AK, am I hearing no ROL yet? Any chance they will preview parts of Pandora? How are evening safaris? And with AK closing at 7, are they even really doing any of the nighttime stuff at AK?

- Anyone know anything about the cast party, i.e., what to expect on 11/17, in the adjacent resorts; do they do fireworks (i.e., that we can steal a view of from BLT/Contemporary)?

Just a few questions/comments. :) Have fun all!

That's what I'm excited for! We will be eating at Hollywood and Vine and I keep telling DS (almost 3) that he will get to have lunch with Jake! Even DD who is 6 is excited to eat with Sofia! And I know the Disney Jr. show will be a big hit too!

2 weeks from today I will be running around the house getting last minute stuff done. We have a morning flight, but not too early where we have to wake up at the crack of dawn. 2 weeks!!!! ahhhhh!!!

LOL you're right! I would definitely keep Narcoossees over CP, especially since you're a group of all adults :thumbsup2 It's really not such a pain to go back to your resort when you don't have kids with you, we do it all the time on our kid-free trips to change for signatures. I know you're heading right back to the MK area but again, not as much of a pain with adults. And as for going back to MK after dinner, just watch the shoes you wear since you'll be walking around again :) If someone absolutely HAS to wear heels to dinner, they can always bring a change of shoes in a bag or backpack, change after dinner and store the bag/backpack in a locker at MK if they don't want to carry it around.
Stick with Narcoossees on the 23rd ::yes::
I talked it over with the group...they don't want to do back and forthing. I think if we were staying somewhere closer it wouldn't be a big deal. I am thinking of looking into a tour of sorts, not so much as a replacement, but so that we aren't just wandering...since I found that my brother and his GF aren't all that enthused with rides. We are also seriously contemplating a monorail crawl now, maybe something we do after our CP dinner Wednesday. I was also told by my brother and his GF to stop planning and we will just wing things. Man, they really have no idea what we are about to walk into in 32 days. Ahhh 32 days!!!:hourglass:jumping1:

Aw, that's too bad, but I understand especially coming from folks who haven't been there. And CP dinner is good too! Not Narcoossee's good lol, but good. I think the monorail crawl idea is a good one, also.
What tours are you considering?
Yup you're right, they have no idea :rotfl:Just keep silently doing your planning and then when you're there and they have that deer in the headlights look, you can show off like a hero :thumbsup2

Has anyone used Amazon Prime Now while at Disney? I'm thinking of using it so we don't have to make more than one store trip (we'll be making a Trader Joe's run for sure) -just wondering how it works. Can I place my order in advance?

We used it last year on the first day for mid-trip (we stayed 8 days) we had to "re-enter" the card number because we were shipping to a new location. So be sure if you have an amazon credit account you bring that card with you (we didn't have a card for that account so we had to add a new credit card to the account). Sorry, I've never tried to pre-order using prime, but I bet you could contact them and mention when you'd like them to ship with no problems.

Here's a question for those with kids: anyone doing Tinkerbell gifts?

I'm trying to pack light (only carry ons), but I am bringing small gifts to give my daughter each day. She's still young, so I don't know if she'll get it, but I think she'll still love it! She's getting: a princess autograph book, hairbows that match her outfits, new disney pajamas, new books to read at bedtime while we're there (small paperbacks), binoculars for AK, passport for EP, small random gifts, stickers, etc.

Yes, we do Tinkerbell gifts. My problem is that I order/buy stuff over several months while planning a trip, then stuff it in the top of a closet so the kids won't find it, and by the time we're ready to start packing, I realize I've bought too much and I have to ship it to the resort because it won't fit in our luggage. I went crazy buying Star Wars shirts this time since my girls have recently watched all the movies and gotten into it. I didn't realize I had bought so many til I got them out to wash them the other day, so I decided I would save a couple to give to their friends (who also like SW) for their birthdays. They're also getting one SW DVD each day of our trip, 2 sets of Minnie ears each (1 pink, 1 red), various Disney-themed candy, graham crackers, etc, glow necklaces and bracelets, Cinderella carriage cage necklaces to pick a pearl in Japan (we've never done that before do Tink will include a note to explain, along with the money for the pearl), activity books, journals, pens, stickers, and I don't remember what else. My husband will kill me when he sees it all!

Has anyone ever seen Disney change hours to later than posted? I have a 8:20 BOG and hours changed to 8:00. I will drop it but I want to make sure it won't change again. Thanks
Unfortunately, I've never seen them change the hours back to a later time. I've lost PPO ADRs due to earlier openings- not fun!

I posted on the Parksavers thread also, but did anyone order their tickets from here? I ordered and was charged $1531.10 on 9/23, checked my account his morning and it looks like the same amount was charged on 10/18. I called and the rep said they had a glitch and they are working on it. My question is if I should give it a few days or go ahead and dispute the charge with my bank?

Ouch! Glad you caught that! We ordered from them for the first time this trip, so I'll have to make sure we check our last several statements since we ordered months ago.

Glad I caught it too and I'm hoping they correct it immediately. Let me know after you check your account! I stated freaking out at 1st that maybe it was a scam even though I have the tickets linked in MDE.

I bought tickets from Parksavers a couple months ago and just checked my most recent statement - no charges for me. I hope it is quickly resolved for you!

I bought parksavers too..and would have noticed a double charge. Yikes.. but they emailed me frequently as soon as I places the order for some questions so they r vry Email friendly ..

So, this is the email I received from Parksavers. Honestly, if it only takes a couple of days that's fine. Well, not horrible. However, it can take up to 2 weeks! We'll be at Disney then. Disney who we specifically budgeted for and now over $1500 of our emergency fund is tied up. I'm newly pregnant and highly emotional and can not think of a proper response.
Sorry, add to deleted the screenshot as it contained my phone number. This is the email:

Hello Amanda,

Thank you for contacting us! We are just finishing up the email that explains this situation as best as possible.

We do not have a specific timeline as to how soon the 2nd charge will be dropped. Parksavers is applying as much pressure as possible to our payment processor to drop the duplicate charges and sincerely hope they will do so within the next two days. As we are approaching a weekend, the charge might still be on there over this coming weekend to be cleared Monday or Tuesday. As with all banking institutions, it could take up to two weeks, but I highly doubt this is the case and Parksavers will take alternative action to help you if the situation gets that drastic.

Please let me know if that is an issue. We absolutely agree that this situation is not appropriate and want to help you as much as we can, and as soon as possible.

Alaina H.

It's a super unfortunate situation, but the timeline isn't really Parksaver's fault - it's true that banks can be slow about these things. If you used a debit card, maybe talk directly to your local branch and see if there is anything they can do? If you used a credit card, I'd talk to them as well - maybe they can credit your account sooner. I'm so sorry you're going through this!

Thought I would check one more time -- are there any Memory Maker shares with open spots? I'm only going to be there for one day but I plan to ride two attractions for the first time and would love to get the ride pictures...plus a few other shots...but can't justify buying Memory Maker myself at full price for just one day!

Unless it has changed, you can purchase a one day MM for $59. http://blog.touringplans.com/2015/12/16/memory-maker-one-day-now-available-for-guests/ :)

Thanks. I know the timeline isn't parksavers fault. It's just super frustrating and I have felt like crying all day. Which, we watched Big Hero 6 earlier and I cried no less than 6 times. Hormones are going crazy! It is through my credit card but I believe the only thing they will do is have me dispute the charge. I'm just worried that the billing cycle is about to end and I will have a huge mess. Hopefully their email I get later will help my anxiety. If I don't see anything by Monday morning I will probably dispute the charge with my bank just so I know I'm covered that way.
