***Official November 2016 Thread***

Magic bands arrived today..........
Making some last minute changes for 11/17 AK. cancelling a Tusker Ressie......see the cancellation thread for info.

Currently working our countdown calendar and nightly quiz for Disney points for spending on keepsakes.

A note about weather....expect anything...from rainy and cold to summer like heat (for most non-Florida residents)

Most years we have gone we needed a light jacket at some point, had to buy them one year because it got VERY cold.

began planning and SAVING for this trip as soon as we got back in 2013. Booked the trip just about 6 months ago and November seemed so far away.
and now it's almost here (3 weeks from tomorrow). trying not to look past the trip but this may be our last one for a long time. The kids would like to go to the Dark Side the next time we vacation in FL and college tuition bills are not that far away. Want this to be an amazing vacation.

Magic ban.

DH and I did that one year. We hadn't expected mid November to be so cold and had to buy sweatshirts in MK!

I'm thinking beginning of November will still be kind of warm so I'm mostly packing short sleeves. But definitely packing rain coats and a light sweatshirt for each kiddo.

12 days!!

We're MA too. This past feb. We left here on THE coldest day in many years so we had sweatshirts, jackets, gloves (remember there were a couple days where it was in the negatives?). Now that was quite the weather shock going from that to FL/Bahamas, lol.

3 weeks today we will have been flying for an hour......only 8.5 hours to go ;)

I have packed mainly shorts and t.shirts, being from the uk it will probably be warm/hot for us! If we have any cold weather I will be buying jumpers/jackets anyway to wear at home and will be travelling in jeans. Will be keeping an eye on the forecast on the days leading up :)

Last year in November we brought layers. We expected it to be like Houston--anywhere from temperatures like our humid winter to our humid early summer.

So, that meant jeans, tshirts, a sweater/fleece/sweatshirt, a light wind/rain jacket. With these items, one can dress for about any weather the Gulf Coast serves up and calls November.

I always pack thin silk long johns. That under jeans is perfect if it's actually cold, and they take no room.

I also included bathing suits and a few shorts. We had warm enough weather a few of the days for these too.

November is always a surprise. Never big coat cold. Sometimes cold enough for a fleece, sometimes hot for shorts.

It was very warm last year during our mid-November trip! I'm bringing light dresses with thin capri length leggings, plus a cardigan if it gets chilly. I'll wear jeans on the plane since they take up so much room and we're packing light this year! :) We're definitely bringing swimsuits too!

Accuweather has a extended forecast that shows a month out! It can't be that accurate, but it's fun to check :)
Thank-you, it's always fun to look! I hope the weather will cooperate with the extended forecast because I only see rain for 1 day of our trip!:)

2 years ago for the week of Thanksgiving, we mostly wore jeans (leggings for dd) and short sleeves, and had a backpack with hoodies/fleece for early mornings and late nights. We did bring a couple pairs of shorts just in case, but we only wore those on the days we knew we'd be done with the parks around dinner time. It can get a little chilly at fireworks time!

Last year Thanksgiving week we were in shorts and t-shirts/ tank tops every day. It got into the 80's a few days but yes, we did need a sweatshirt most nights after the sun went down and even put jeans on 2 or 3 nights. Overall it was great weather but I think you do need to pack for anything and everything.

Is everyone seeing the crowd reports from yesterday? My goodness, the waits were crazy!

I did read those! It was like a perfect storm: nice/cooler weather, neither big Florida college football teams playing, and this little event called Food & Wine!

Yeah, I've seen reports that the crowds have been CRAZY the past couple days. I'm really hoping they're a little lighter for mid-November.

So now that it's Sunday, I can say that I'm going to Disney next week!!! It's funny, after doing so much planning and more planning, I kind of feel like we've already been there and our trip is over! but the piles of stuff and 2 suitcases downstairs tell me otherwise. I've been showing DS youtube videos of our resort to get him used to it and let him know where he will be sleeping. He is still in a crib now, but I'm talking to him about a bed and I think showing him pictures helps. Plus it's a Nemo bed, so he's pretty excited for that!

A couple days ago, I started really wanting to eat at Sci Fi on our HS day. We are eating at Hollywood and Vine for lunch, but I think DS would get a kick out of eating in a car. Plus DD just asked if we would be eating there again because we did it on her last trip. Of course there is nothing available, but I'm checking every day in case of a cancellation. Not a big deal if we don't get it, but it would be fun. How about you guys? Anything you are trying to add last minute?

Yes 100% agree ::yes::
Last year was unseasonably warm and the temperatures can change quickly from day to day and morning to evening. Layering is the key so we always have to pack more clothes for our November trips.

I'm trying to get a better time for an Akershus meal, but no luck so far! Luckily that's the only change I'm working on :) I've started some packing and I still need to get a couple things, but I feel much more prepared for this trip than the last one! I think since we were just there last year, we're not feeling as much pressure to do specific things.
