***Official November 2016 Thread***

UGHHHHHHH...seriously, I get a text from Touring Plans for a 1900 PF ADR and 30 seconds later it's gone...how is that even possible??!!

Praying for everyone in Florida especially the coastal communities to be safe from hurricane Matthew.
Downtown St Augustine where my DD attends college is being evacuated as of 6:00 am this morning. I was scrambling last night to get her a flight out and very thankful we did
We are on our way to the airport now.
It's hard to think our trip is just 45 days away with everything going on
Glad you got a flight out for your daughter that must be such a relief!:)

Seriously is anybody else getting very annoyed that early November HS SW Fireworks time have not been announced. We really want to see them and it is throwing a wrinkle in our schedule. If they stay the same days as October, we will have to move around some dinners. It can be done, but I don't want to assume I know what Disney will do and then get screwed.

Anybody else in my boat?
I agree it is frustrating. It's hard to finalize plans when we don't know what day the SW fireworks will be!

Isn't it the worst? That has happened to me too :( Hope you are able to snag a ressie eventually! In case you didn't know, make sure you reset the search on Touring Plans - it stops searching once it has found a reservation, even if you didn't get it!

Oh no! Glad you were able to get your daughter out safely. I have a friend living there as well, we still haven't heard what his plans are...hopefully he isn't trying to be a "man" and ride it out!

Thank you I know many of the locals who don't live downtown are boarding up and plan to ride it out hope everyone is safe

Thank you :goodvibes we are so grateful

Magic bands shipped today! Although a little hard to be overly excited with what is going on in Florida right now. My heart goes out to everyone there. We have family in the Treasure Coast area and DD's dance teacher is at Riverside right now.

I know what you mean and :cheer2: for your magic bands that's always a sign your trip is close

Anyone else still undecided on EMM and memory maker? I need to make these decisions! :rolleyes2
I went back and forth, but decided to do it! ( the EMM) Skipping the nutty rope drop for 7DMT was enough to make me say yes! Since we couldn't get a FP For 7DMT at 60 days out, decided to splurge for EMM. I hope we are happy we did!

i think that was mine..i gave it up..i have 2 boys and booked it b4 they agreed..they say no way.. but i got a text for BOG and yup..gone in a sec..

I've never been to Windsor Hills before, but I'm excited about staying there!
Since you've stayed there before, what time would you recommend leaving to hit rope drop at 9am? I was thinking around 8am, but is that enough time when parking at MK?
yes..8 is good..AK is he closest just google back roads to AK from WH u can find amazing back roads ..literally in AK parking lot in 15 min..other parks of course further..but still stick to back roads. WH Is so clean and restfull... I added couple days to just rest , so close to everything. publix is nicer if u take a right out of WH.. too crowded on 192.. but lots of cheapo stores, mini golf and restaurants galore.

We decided yes to memory maker and no to EMM. If we weren't able to get FP for 7DMT, we would have definitely considered it more. But between that, the fact that we have an unpredictable toddler with us, and since we have 3 days in MK anyway, we decided to skip. If it was just my husband and I, we would have totally done it! It sounds awesome :)

Here's a map. It's Line 1 (red) from WH to AK via Sherberth Rd. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewe...8.272032,-81.608849&spn=0.068335,0.11055&z=13
Turn left at the pink stick pin for AK.

I've stayed at Windsor Hills several times. We always left at 7:30am for a 9am MK rope drop. MK takes longest with parking and then boat/monorail. For the other parks, an hour should be fine.

We are coming from Niagara Falls area as well. We plan on taking two days to drive too.

Also coming from the Niagara area. We're taking two days to drive back, with a stop overnight at Great Wold Lodge in Charlotte. The first day is short so they can have a few hours in the waterpark, but the second day in the van will be longer and I'm expecting will be a nightmare, lol. 5 kids in a van for that long, after a super-exciting trip to Disney... we're going to need to employ some serious road trip strategies to keep our sanity. Any suggestions?

We're also staying in Windsor Hills, some of the advice here has been great. I would only have left 45 minutes-an hour to get there for rope drop, I'm glad to be a bit better prepared now.

Our road trip strategies include movies on iPads, lego boxes, magnetic/chalkboards to use chalk and puzzles (with magnets on the back), word searches, surprise favourite snacks and hopefully they will be tired from all the Disney fun and have some naps :rolleyes1

Thanks! We'll plan on 7:30 then for MK, I was worried MK would take longer because of the TTC but wasn't sure how much longer.
