***Official November 2014 thread***

Hey everyone. Can anyone give me an idea as to what the crowd level is like over Veterans Day weekend with the race and everything? I was also wondering when the Osborne Lights begin? Trying to plan my dates.

I'm soooooo excited! My sister and I just registered for the Wine and Dine 1/2 Marathon today! So looks like I'll be heading back in November for a girls trip! My sister-in-law is planning on registering too, along with one of my friends from work (who is still mulling it over). This will be my first trip without my kiddos/DH and my first 1/2 marathon! I'm already nervous! Ha ha! :rotfl:

Don't have any "official" plans just yet, but of course since my sister and I decided to do this, I've been thinking about it! I think it will go down like this... stay at Pop Century, arrive on Wednesday the 5th, Epcot on Thursday the 6th for Food and Wine Festival, Magic Kingdom on Friday the 7th and stay for the Christmas Party (at least they had one on this day last year!), no park on Saturday the 8th and run that night, then sleep/check-out on Sunday the 9th. My SIL is down for this plan, just gotta run it by my sister!

We're going for a 10 day family trip the end of May, so it's AWESOME knowing that I can leave knowing exactly when I'll be back!

That all sounds so exciting! I wish there was a like button in here! LOL

Made a change. Originally was December 7-12, changed it to November 16-21, Grand Floridian. Thinking about adding the Dark Side, prior to Grand Flo. Arriving PBH(Dark Side) 11/13, departing 11/16, checking into the GF. Can't seem to decide if we should do Disney before Dark Side or after...thoughts?

I only have experience with Veteran's Day weekend and F&W crowds, as long as you avoid Epcot you will be fine. The crowds in Epcot over that weekend in 2011 where the heaviest I have ever experienced. We were able to see the Osborne Lights during that trip and loved them!! A MUST DO!:cool1:

Sounds super exciting!!! Love the GF and am totally jealous!! Personally, when we did both last trip, I put it about one third of the way in so that we could still get some more Disney in after our US days. I will add this, though.. we were on the DDP and by staying on Disney property and still going over to US we were able to come back at the end of the day to enjoy a wonderful TS meal somewhere in Disney or DTD. Having the car made it easy to get around and go wherever we wanted after getting out of US. If you aren't concerned about the dining plan and want to switch hotels, then I guess the world is your oyster! LOL

I don't even know how I would decide that, myself! Maybe pick the better resort (clearly GF! LOL) for last, since it will be the experience you go home with? Just a thought! :)

I did Disney than off-site to go to Universal last trip and I wouldn't do it again, it was pretty sad to leave the bubble, specially since I'd not be on-site at Universal.

We are doing RPH for a few days before moving on to POFQ this time around and I believe it'll be nice to leave one bubble for the other.

Celine and LucyBC80, I think you guys are on track. I decided to do the Dark Side first. We haven't been there in over 20 years so a lot has changed. I think I'd like to finish up at the GF. A warm and fuzzy feeling for the plane ride home. Thank you for your insight! :cool2:

Just booked Nov 23 through the 28th for our daughter, son-in-law, 2 year old granddaughter and us. We have gone during Christmas week before but never during Thanksgiving week. Can't wait!

We surprised our kids (they were 7 & 9) last October with their first trip to Disney World (pretty much the 1st for my hubby and I as well). We literally had the time of our lives! We didn't tell them until the day we left......we picked them up early from school and they were sent on a massive scavenger hunt that ended with giant disney balloons and a stuffed Mickey and Minnie floating out of a box. They asked when we were going and we got to shout, "RIGHT NOW!!! The van is packed!!!" We stayed at AoA and immediately fell in love with everything Disney! I knew within minutes of walking into Magic Kingdom that we were going to come back very soon and that I wanted it to be when it was all decorated for Christmas!

So, I officially booked our trip for November 29th - December 6th...staying at POR in a Royal Guest Room! I know it's still far away, but I'm already SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited! :yay: Thinking about the trip is my "happy" and I can't wait until I can start booking our ADRs and then our Fast Passes! We LOVED our MagicBands last time and this time, I've discovered how all the amazing people on DIS are decorating them and I have SO MANY IDEAS! I'm going to practice on our old ones, so that I'll be ready for when our new ones come. :rotfl:

This time around is so much fun because our kids know about this trip and will be part of all the planning! Last year was the longest year ever having to plan the trip in secret and being sure we didn't slip and mention something in front of the kids! LOL The kids are so excited about going back and all I can think about is how ready I am to get there and make more cherished memories with our kiddos! :cloud9:

We are currently booked for Nov. 8 - Nov 15. I am starting to second guess crowds that week. Wondering if it would be better to switch to Nov. 15- Nov.22?

We are looking at Nov 11-16. From the crowd calendars that I've seen, it looks pretty good. What's got you second guessing? Maybe I should be worried...?

I know (think) the 1/2 marathon is that weekend. I was worried about how the first part of the week would be.

The 1/2 is the 9th. If all goes well I'm supposed to be out here at Disney World from the 6th-10th hopefully for the race staying at POFQ.

So yeah to whomever is in charge of the thread put me down tentatively for that. Still need to book room but if everything works out I'll be out here for the race.

We changed our dates. Our new dates are: 11/9 - 11/22!

We are very excited and really hoping for a discount. Fingers crossed!! :thumbsup2

I think it will busier during the marathon, but it looks like it'll taper off after Veteran's Day. I could be wrong about that though!
