"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

Yes. That's what they did tonight. I was so impressed with the CMs patrolling and asking for bands. I only saw one group of young men trying to pull a fast one and they were definitely going to get caught in the sweep they were walking into. Park entrance at 4pm was strict on who was getting bands. Really didn't feel the crush until around 8pm.



My first party today. Crowded, yes, but I thought it was manageable. I was solo. I used easy wdw and Touring Plans and worked an excellent plan. Was able to stay ahead of it until the second castle lighting. Never got off track, but stopped being able to squeeze in extra. The 2nd parade seemed well attended, but I got a second row seat at 11pm in Town Square. Opted not to tell Mickey "Happy Birthday" since his wait was 40 min at 11pm.

in line by 3:25pm and rode: PP (FP), HM (FP), shopping at Christmas Shoppe, Treehouse, JC (FP), Tiki Room, Pirates, treats, Country Bears, snack from Sleepy Hollow, treats, watched Banjo Bros., Castle lighting, Under the Sea, Pooh, treats (save for later), treats in Tomorrowland, Mickey's Merriest, Wishes, snow on Main St, break in Town Square, Parade.

I felt like I got my $$ worth, but being solo I could get around the crowds. Only bottleneck was 8:30 Elsa show. Also, they had at least 2 extra treat stations with snickerdoodles up. 1 at Aloha Isle and one at Auntie Gravity's.

That's awesome! Glad you had a great time. I loved the party and wish i had booked two nights.

Did they check wristbands at treat stations or in line for rides/characters?

They checked bands at 1 treat station on Tuesday but that was it. Not sure if they are supposed to be checking at rides/m&g's.

They were checking as you got in line for treats early on. I didn't see that after the very obvious sweeps they did of each land. But there were CMs everywhere asking to see wrist bands. I didn't line up for a single character. Was asked to show while waiting for the first parade. And before getting onto rides early too.

I'm really glad to hear security was on point at the gates last night to get the wristbands. My question is, will it continue or was this a 1 night thing because the party was sold out last night? Anxious to see what happens at the next party????

I'm trying to buy tickets for 11/29 online and everytime I get to the Add guest information page it gets stuck

I purchased our party tickets under a "phantom" profile and have made our FP+ reservations. Thinking we would probably be at MK around 2:30-3:00 (we have APs), I booked our first FP+ for 2:40. Does anyone know if this will be a problem? Do we actually have to scan our hard tickets at the tap stiles to activate use of FPs on our card? This will be our first time attending the Christmas party, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Would be lost without all of the great tips from this thread. TIA!

If the FPs are not linked to your AP account, I'm not sure this will work? Hopefully someone with experience will chime in? I'm assuming you have FPs linked to your AP at another park that morning?

Might be able to modify the FPs by selecting "change party" and assigning them to our APs as rolling FPs after we finish at DHS. Wondering if this would work as long as we are connected as "Friends & Family". ???

I had mentioned earlier that they were doing this on Nov 15th also.

Hopefully this is a permanent change then for every party. Maybe they've gotten one too many complaints.

I want her to be able to see all that she can in the eight hours that we are in the park, but I personally love the meet and greets and would like to see a few characters that are not usually found in the parks. Could somebody who has been to the party this year let me know which of the more rare characters have the shortest lines? I would love to meet Scrooge and Abu, but I don't want to spend the entire night waiting in line. Could someone also tell me what the allergy friendly treats are this year?

You don't need to spend the entire night in line. If you want to meet Scrooge you can get in line at 6:30 and you'll be one of the first to meet him and Donald and you'll be finished around 7 pm when the party officially starts. Abu is a bit trickier as he and Aladdin switch off every half hour with Jasmine and Genie. I'm not sure which pair have been coming out first.
