"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

Im a born & raised NYer too -- my friends want to come from out of State and go, and I'm like sure, go without me and when you cross back over the bridge we'll meet up. LOL.

Oh no lol you HAVE to see the tree every year! I'm telling you Wednesday's is desdish I got a clear photo last year with almost no one in it at 10 pm on a Wednesday

Oh 10:00 p.m. yes much lighter crowds. I'm talking at the height of the action - 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. I've only seen NYers turn on each other on 3 occasions. Christmas, NY Eve and St. Paddy's Day. :crowded: LOL

Thanks for the thread @CampbellzSoup, just got caught up!! Followed your thread last year as we were starting to plan for 2015, and am so excited to be here, contributing, this year!

I have a milestone birthday coming up in early 2016, and my birthday wish was to see WDW at Christmas, so we will be celebrating a little early, the first week of December. Waiting till CP narrators are announced to finalize our plans, but leaning toward 12/3 as our party date. Can't wait to see the castle at Christmas!!

A few questions I saw in the thread that I never saw answered (and sorry, haven't been able to figure out multi-quote yet, so here goes):

Last year, Anna & Elsa did not have any companions meeting with them at the party like the other princesses did. Of course, that could change this year.

Official party info (map, etc.) will not be available until the first party (though sometimes leaked a day or two in advance). We should have character info before that, though, but not until much closer to party time.

Yes, there are PhotoPass photographers at all the scheduled meet & greet locations.

The Seven Dwarfs have historically met outside the wall to New Fantasyland.

We did 2 MNSSHP parties last year - one was dedicated to special characters, the other to the shows - and we found this worked perfectly. There's no way to get it all in during one party. If you can swing two nights, go for it. Otherwise, make sure you prioritize and have a good touring plan. Sandy Claws often started meeting around 6 last year, so I'd line up for him first, and try to hit the dwarfs closer to the end of the night (assuming you want to do both).

:santa: So excited to be celebrating with you all! :santa:

Add us to the list for December 8! So excited! And thank you for posting all this awesome info!

I'm so glad you're running this thread. I remember your reports from last year and they were amazing! We went too, but unfortunately it was a bust, seeing as how I messed my foot up beyond belief on the first day of the trip. I'm actually having surgery on July 23rd because its still not better. Anyhoo, I'm taking my little man back again this year as a do-over and we will be attending MVMCP on December 8th. Hopefully he will be less grouchy and I'll be feeling spectacular by then!

Can someone clarify when it snows during the party? I see snow during the parade but thought it happened during the beginning?

That band is incredible - just searched the site for that design, did you make it yourself? I was going to buy one lol

A little jealous you landed BOG before the party - I'm hoping to do the same thing for Dec 18th, but that is the day we arrive so our chances are slim. I guess I'll find out in a few days.

Congrats!

I was thinking about doing a custom magic band for the trip and was messing around with magicyourband.com - here's what I came up with. Has anybody ever used them before?

Hi everyone! I was hoping to get opinions on our situation. We have tickets to MVMCP on a day we will be at the park all day. We have ADR at CP for 6:20 and am wondering if you all think that is a good idea or not....should we be looking for a lunch DR or??

This July 4th has reminded me how much fireworks scare me. I didn't watch any of the fireworks/ night shows during our last trip to "the world".

So, I'm wondering if I should not go to MVMCP. I now there is other things to do besides fireworks, but I'm worried that it would be a waste of money if I end up leaving early.

If you are planning to leave before the fireworks, I don't think you could get your money's worth.

I guess an alternative would be to use ear plugs during the show. I originally planned on waiting for the second parade, so maybe I can go do some rides or character meets during the fireworks.

You will definitely be missing party time for your ADR, so I'd probably look for an earlier ressie. Also think about whether or not your traveling party will be able to make it through the entire party after being at the park all day? I wouldn't feel like I was getting my money's worth if I missed the first 30 minutes and then left early as well? We like to take it easy in the morning on a party day - maybe a park till lunch, then rest up for a few hours.

There are plenty of indoor activities you could do for 15 minutes while the fireworks are going off. No need to leave early!!!

thank you for your input! I'm now thinking of doing MVMCP a different night.. How hard do you think it would be to switch nights? I realize they are non refundable tickets but I wonder about swapping for a other night?

I know that you can enter after 4 for the party. If you are already in the park do you have to exit and re-enter or is there somewhere in the park you can get your wristband?

Bought our tickets this morning for the December 3rd party! Please officially add us to the list! :thanks:

They will have stations set up inside the park, no need to exit.
