***Official May 2023 Thread***

Just saw Woody's Round Up will be open for our trips (opens March 23rd). I love to try new restaurants, but I live in the south and can get great BBQ pretty easily.

I'll check out the menu, but will probably pass. But it's also going to be super cute, I bet, so maybe?? 😆

What is everyone else thinking?

Our long-awaited honeymoon is booked for May, split stay between AKL and YC, then a few days at Universal after.

We had originally planned our honeymoon for right after our wedding in October 2020, but couldn't travel from Canada then, so I'm super excited it's finally happening! I haven't been to WDW in eight years (my last park day was actually the last MK 24-hour day in 2015), and even though I did all the planning for the original honeymoon dates in 2020, it's all moot because SO MUCH has changed!

It'll be DH's first trip to WDW ever! And I can't wait for my first deluxe resort experience, my first Epcot festival, and a longer trip than I've done before so hopefully can enjoy a more leisurely and relaxed trip :)

I bet it will be cute, but we are all adults and we live in Kansas City so, can get BBQ within a half a mile of my house. I am excited to see pics and it seems like the theming will be great for kids so worth considering if my kid wasn’t 25 when we go!

I really miss having to plan more than 6 months out. I would love to know what the May park hours are, what nights extended hours are, will there be after hours events my week, etc. Other than book our dvc stay, I have done nothing. I don’t want to buy tickets until I know about after hours events since we might cut a day of normal tickets. At this point I might just skip after hours parties just so I can buy my park tickets and make my park reservations.

I didn’t even book our flights yet. I know the prices are going to drop so I’m waiting it out. We are using Avelo and the planes are still pretty empty on our dates so I’m guessing they will offer a sale for May in the coming months

I just finally broke down and purchased our tickets. I figure I'll just work around those. I didn't want to wait any longer. Park Hours have always been released at 60 days so that hasn't changed. EEH will probably always be available on the same nights as AH regardless of what days so I'll probably stick with the Deluxe EEH and do MK that night instead of HS. I don't see myself plopping down another $115+ after purchasing a 6-day PH when having the availability of EEH. I've done an AH at HS in the past and that was because of SDD being new BUT mostly because of the holiday decorations. I enjoyed it but I think I'll take my chances with Genie+ and ILL during the trip to do ROTR and MMRR. It's too bad there are no HS EEH but as long as HS AH is popular and Disney is making money then why would they? I'm keeping my 🤞though.😄

Yep, I'm in pretty much the same position. We're trying to squeeze both Universal and the 4 Disney parks into our week, and there's so much still up in the air. We might do HS after hours rather than a full day there, if they offer that this spring. Also might consider a Villains after hours rather than a full day MK day, if that returns. If not, we'd like to do MK on a day that's open til 11... if there is one. This will likely be the hottest trip we've taken to Florida/Disney yet, and 2 of us don't deal well with sun/heat, so packing in as many evening hours as we can is appealing! I'm not too worried about park reservations, so... still waiting.

Not that this is appealing but we did all 4 parks and universal in 3 days and 2 half days! It was exhausting but we did it

I’ll be there from 5/7 through 5/13...unless I have to switch dates due to a conflict at work, lol

I was just at WDW in November, during Nicole, so I’m hoping For better weather, lol. I hadn’t been in years, so I felt pressure to get as much done as possible. Now I’m in FL, and AP holder, and I’ve just been, so this will be a more relaxing vacation. Rides are my priority, but I don’t have to rush around....and this time, no Ratatouiile. The 3 hour wait cost me precious Epcot time. Now I‘ll be able to enjoy the F and G fest, a few rides, and the WS. I also plan on visiting a water park, DS, and making sure I have hotel time.

I might also take the pastry class at Amoretto...yum!

I‘m staying at POR FQ

Adults only trip for my wife and I May 2nd-7th! It will be our first official DVC stay as members, we were lucky to get GF resort studio for the full trip in late November. Since we were just there in December and will be back in January 2024 we are doing 3 park days and 2 and a half chill days (get in at 9:30 AM and leaving at 9 PM).
I am in the same boat as some of you waiting for extra magic hours and the after hours events to plan our days. We will be trying to book the Keys of the Kingdom tour for one of the days.

I finally got approval at work to be off for my dates. Avelo also dropped prices on my flights today so flights are finally booked! Still can’t decide on what tickets or tours/dining/events to do
Dd18 pretty much just likes to do the headliner attractions in the parks. I want to do all the parks and eat all the things yet I want to relax and actually have a little bit of a vacation. Not sure how to manage it all in such a short trip.
Might end up doing a 4 parks in one day day, but the next day do GF massage on just an MK day🤷🏼‍♀️
