****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

We are leaving bright and early Sunday morning for our drive to WDW!!!

Hope to see some fellow DIS'ers while I am there!

Question of the Day:

If I am in the mood for something cold and refreshing, where is your favorite place to go and purchase something in any of the parks or resorts?

La Cava del Tequila...Mexico pavilion....Epcot...nuff said...

Question of the Weekend:

Will you attend EMH? If so, what attractions do you find are best to visit during EMH?

Question of the Day:

Please share any trip organization tips that you have for others! It can be anything from your daily park book bag, to your luggage, anything in your room...etc...

Organization is so not my forte! I'm appreciating everyone else's pointers though.

Question of the Day:

What are your breakfast plans? Are you eating in your room, quick service, table service, etc…. ?

We're not really breakfast people. We'll have mugs for drinks and I'm packing turkey jerky, fruit leather, frozen berries (TSA friendly ice pack ;) ), granola bars, string cheese, and such for morning/late night snacks. And eating them frees up room in the bags for souvenirs!

For those of you who are traveling late May have you already gotten your Mickey Mail? I received our cruise documents last week but nothing for our WDW package yet.

I haven't yet, but I just called to give them our flight info a couple days ago.

Kaki gori in Japan. Like snowcones but a million times better.

We love evening EMH. I'm a night owl and the kids happily follow that lead, so the later the parks are open the better. My favorite is Fantasyland after about midnight - families with young kids head for the gates after Wishes or the second electrical parade, leaving the few of us crazy enough to want to ride Dumbo at 2am to walk right on. :cloud9: Also, Tower of Terror is WAY better after dark!

Epcot is the only park where I really don't care for evening EMH, but a recent thread on the Theme Parks board has me wondering if my experience was only because we were there at such a slow, cold time of year. In January, many of the shops and stands closed down during Illuminations even though it was an EMH night - at 9:15 I couldn't get a glass of rosa regale because that kiosk was closed, and by 10:30 the tequila bar in the Mexico pavilion was closed too. But I've been told that others have had just the opposite experience, which is why I started thinking maybe they keep more open during better attended EMH. :confused3

We have done EMH in the morning before at MK. We usually don't actively plan to utilize EMH in the evening nor do we avoid them. However, for this trip I specifically planned our Fri night ADR at LeCellier and Sunday night ADR at CA Grill to take advantage of the evening EMR at Epcot and MK for our BFF's 25 year old daughter and her friend. Wouldn't you know that they both ended up not being able to make the trip, LOL! There is no way that I was gonna change the ADR's....so, I will actually be experiencing evening EMH for the first time. I will just go with the flow. EEK! Did I just say that?

No EMH for us this time around. Parks seem to be more crowded on those days anymore, so the only time we'll do it is morning EMH at MK - you can get so much done in that first hour!

We tend to do the am EMH but not the evening ones although we will be in the MK this time around for the evening one on DD's birthday so I'm sure we'll be trying that for the first time!

Only Morning EMH, I don't think any of us could hang for the evening hours!! Plan to hit the headliners

15 days! :cool1:

One paycheck away from reaching the amount for my "spending money" goal! :thumbsup2

I know this is very last minute but I can't find a crowd calendar for 1 May- 8 May.

Any suggestions? What parks are low or good to visit on what days?

We are taking our coins to the bank later and grandma gave us a little "just in case" money. All DD4 wants (currently) are ears for her and her sister.
