Question of the Day:

If I am in the mood for something cold and refreshing, where is your favorite place to go and purchase something in any of the parks or resorts?

Grand Marnier slushie!!!!

Not only is it cold and yummy, it also gives me a break from pushing the stroller. Can't push and sip, sorry DH!

:lmao:

I'm trying to figure out how much money to budget for extras, we are on the DDP so food is covered for the most part...I'm talking souvineers, extra treats, the all important balloon...two kids (7 and 5) and me and DH and I KNOW I can spend money like water if I was able...

so how much is a realistic amount to bring?

Haven't been, but I'm looking forward to a good margarita in the Mexico Pavillion!

Question of the Day:

In Epcot, what are some “smell the roses” attractions that are easy to miss?

Character meet, well sorta, In France, at Le Chef, Remy from Ratatioule. My kids couldnt stop laughing he comes around on a platter with a cover over him. I have a pic somewhere if i can find it I will link it to this post.

Hello! Which DDP are you on, the basic or deluxe?

If basic, you get the 1 quick service, 1 snack, and 1 TS meal a day. Some people on this dining plan will still purchase a third quick service meal or another snack each day depending on their eating habits. So for each person, you could estimate another $5-10 in food per day if you feel you will eat more.

For 10 nights/11 days and two adults on the DxDP – we are bringing $1000 extra with us. We have $500 in cash and $500 in Disney gift cards. We have every meal covered.

We approximate that we will spend $100 in airport/travel expenses. $300-400 on tips. $500 on souvenirs and other fun things to do like rent boats or mini golf.

A great option if you are bringing little ones, is get them a gift card at Target for Disney in increments of $25. So if you want to give them $50 each – then that is all they can spend on souvenirs. That way you won’t over spend!

I hope this helps 

we are on the regular plan, but we plan on eating in the room for breakfast and then I'll also pack some extra snacks

Thanks for the reply...It's nice to know what others do so I can get a feel for what is usual (although my husband will say nothing about our trip is usual)

I can't believe I'm leaving in 5 days!!!

I still need to exchange money, have a pedicure(or paint my own nails), finsih packing, work 2 more days...

This is our plan:

Wednesday 2nd, arrive late, head to Downtown Disney for dinner and then pass out dur to 5/6 hour time difference

Thursday 3rd Animal Kingdom, possibly lunch at AKL Mara

Friday 4th Magic Kingdom

Saturday 5th Florida Mall

Sunday 6th Prime Outlets

Monday 7th Epcot

Tuesday 8th Hollywood Studios

Wednesday 9th Magic Kingdom

Thursday 10th Animal Kingdom

Friday 11th Hollywood Studios(am), Magic Kingdom (pm)

Saturday 12th whatever park we feel like, Magic Express will pick us up around 3/4pm

So I'm trying to do online check in and when it gets to the Room Request section, it won't accept text in the box provided, just the blurb about nothing being guaranteed. What am I doing wrong here?

Is it bad to wish the weekend will go by quickly so that our trip will get here faster :confused3

We'll be there on the same MK days as you. Friday watch for a tie dye Mickey shirted family walking around :) and Wednesday we'll have a pirate & princess all dolled up :)

Everyone have a great time!! Just finished up work, now have to furiously finish packing and get my oldest ready for her dance photo session, which we're doing right before we leave. I forgot that this means we'll have her dance costume with us the whole trip, but they're doing a ballet of Tale as Old as Time being dressed up as Belle, so it's very appropriate! :)

Can't believe I will be in 90 degree weather soon, hope I don't melt away!

I believe that there is not a section to put addtional information. This is just what I have learned from reading this board.

Can anyone help us with this?

It sounds like you have a great plan! I believe that I would still reserve about $5 per person per day for an additional snack, just in case! In the morning you can use your refillable mug for some drinks.

I do believe that Disney will cash a check at no charge at the front desk. They did this in 2009 on my last trip. Therefore if you don’t want to use an ATM but want more cash, this is a good option.

Also you can charge anything to your room card. That way you don’t have to carry a lot of cash with you and can pay it off at the end of the trip.

I hope this helps!
