****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

Well I can't enjoy Rock'n Rollercoaster, Test Track, or the Mountains... but it's okay because... We're expecting baby #2! :yay: My son will turn 3 right after our trip, and baby #2 will come in August. We're not telling our families until after 12 weeks, but we found out today, and I'm bursting to tell someone!

 Congrats! Very exciting news. :goodvibes

Thanks so much! We're really excited! Weren't planning on trying until later next year, but things happen when they're supposed to I think!

Hi Everyone! I just booked out 2012 trip 2 days ago. Going May 5-12 staying at the Poly. Though I have been to Disney more times than I can count on my fingers and toes, this will be my first time staying at the Poly and I'm sooo excited!!! This is our 5th trip as a family, previous trips have been ASM, POP, POR and WL. The kids have been asking to stay at the Poly for a few years now and we promised them that as soon as everyone was old enough to enjoy and remember it, we would. The kids don't know yet and I'm not sure when I will be telling them. We are driving down, leaving on May 4th, which is my DS's 7th b-day. I am trying not to make this a b-day trip though because his 4th b-day was a b-day trip and if we make this one about his birthday too, my almost 10 year old DD will flip out. The only concerns I have about this trip is that BTM will be closed. We LOVE BTM and ride it a lot. I hope the kids won't be too upset.

I ended up scheduling my ADR's before I had even booked the trip, I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to make it happen but if I could, I wanted to make sure that we had places to eat. This will be the first trip where we are not doing the DDP, the kids eat like birds and it's really too much food for DH and I. But, I do have ADR's at Crystal Palace (breakfast), Akershus (breakfast), and Ohana(Dinner). I may add one more just not sure where yet.

Happy Planning!!

Welcome! I love that you did ADRS before you trip :)

Question of the Day:

Sine we just found out that bvkramer is expecting, this brought up a great question. What do you recommend to do for those who cannot ride certain rides while their family or friends are enjoying them?

I always plan out our next event or ride, aka I map surf!

Shopping and eating Dole Whips or No Way Joses...

So, all my May buddies, have you paid off your trips yet? Getting close? I think most of us are due in March. Personally, most of my tax return is going to the trip... XD

We using are tax returns for our trips also :)

Jumping on board here...we just booked our trip, May 30 - June 5...staying at the Contemporary!

I am sooo excited I can barely contain myself! I went with my family when I was 9, we stayed at the Fort Wilderness campgrounds in my grandparents RV! My husband has never been, so this his first time and them we have two kids, 7 and 5...

My husband thinks I have lost my mind with my planning...already booked Ohana for dinner, Chef Mickey for Breakfast and Akershus for dinner...

Yesterday I was watching a youtube video of them closing the castle at night and tears were just streaming down my face...I have no qualms stating that this trip might mean more to me than anyone else in my family!

I'm way more excited about trip than my husband or my daughter -- and the trip is SUPPOSED to be primarily for my daughter! If your family or anyone gets sick of hearing you talk about your trip you're welcome to look me up -- I seem to never tire of talking about it!:laughing:

I agree shopping and eating is always an option. Also its a great time to take in a easy ride that maybe some people in your party wouldn't want to ride. For example Carousel of Progress, Living with the Land, or American Idol Experience, this is something my daughter and I did this past trip cause she was too short to ride some rides and my son and husband didn't want to ride the "boring ones." Its a great way to get out of the heat and off your feet.

Question of the Day:
How does Disney fit into your holiday season or Christmas?

I have tons of Disney Ornaments on the tree!

We have tons of Christmas ornaments, a Tinker Bell tree topper, we watch all kinds of Disney Christmas movies (The Muppets Christmas Carol, A Nightmare Before Christmas, some Jiminy Crickett Christmas compilation movie that we only have on VHS).

My parents won't ride ANYTHING (which makes me wonder why they bother going, but I digress...), and they usually just wander around near the ride, and look in the shops. I mean, Disney is VERY well themed, so there's lots of interesting things to stop and look at, even if you're not riding something.
