****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

For those that have been in May before, what is the weather generally like? Mostly, is it crazy humid?

We went in mid-May this past year and we hit a beautiful week. The temps were 75ish and only hit mid-80's on our last 2 days. We didn't find the humidity to be bad at all and we only had rain for the first hour we were on Disney property (at the resort). I'm hoping for the same kind of luck this time around.

When we went this past October, we got rain one morning... it was miserable. I'm not a fan of Disney in the rain.

My parents go every May, for their anniversary, and claim that it's always pretty hot (but not as bad as the summer months), and the lines are generally short. I'm hoping they're correct!

We went last year - I found the weather to be incredibly pleasant. I didn't find the weather humid; it was more direct heat. Being in the sunshine was warm but you could feel a definite difference in the shade. I was never cold, not even at night but I didn't ever feel claustrophobic like sometimes in summer with the humidity.

I actually found the weather slightly too cold to swim, but that is personal opinion (I must've been the only one!). The comparisons are all with August though.

Great time of the year to go.

Well, it looks like we're going to be there for an extra day... my dad has offered to pay the difference to fly instead of drive. I hate flying but can't argue with the fact of being there in less than 3 hours compared to 2 days! So now we're planning on flying in Friday, May 4th (arrival will be around 9:30 pm) and then we have a free stay gift certificate from Red Roof Inn so we'll use that. Saturday will be spent at Downtown Disney & we can check into Bonnet Creek at 4pm then I booked Hoop De Doo for that night at 9:30.. yay!!!

I'm so excited! It adds a bit more planning to my agenda (ordering groceries, car rental, etc.) but I'm hoping this will be the right decision. Although I'm not thrilled about flying (especially at night!)

Toy Story Mania or Buzz Lightyear Ride?

Our family is split down the middle. Dh and older dd like TSM, while younger dd and I like Buzz better. (I agree that it doesn't whip you around as much as TSM) and youngest dd thinks buzz is easier to shoot.

Toy Story Mania all the way. My husband is on a mission to beat me next time... he claims he didn't really "understand" it last time. lol...

We were there in May this past year and thought the weather wasn't bad at all. We could walk all day and never got sunburned. Its was great weather for late night swims.
