****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

Welcome all - Only a little over 6 months to go! Can't wait :) Getting my ADRS together now!

Thanks for the welcome! I am constantly planning our ADRs. We'll be on a mini-vacation on the day that I can make ADRs so I'll be making them after we get home. Hopefully, I'll be able to get all of the restaurants I end up with on my list.

We haven't quite booked yet but does anyone know off the top of your head how far in advance you can make ADRs? Even if we dont get free dining we will add that option to whatever package we book. Maybe this can spur my relatives along and we can get the ball rolling on actually booking things!

You can make ADRs 180 days in advance.

Greetings all!
Add me to the list will be visiting over from England for 21 nights from May 3rd to May 24th staying at Coronado Springs for our first stay on site.

ADRs picked out just waiting for November 5th to get them booked up.

21 nights is wonderful! Are you on the dining plan?

Indeed, making use of the UK's free dining promotion - however upgraded to the regular dining plan from the QSDP to get the TS credits.

Yay! We're finally having a family meeting tonight and hopefully we will nail down some dates and book it!

We're staying May 10th-18th at AKLV! :thumbsup2 Trying to keep it a surprise for our girls. We'll see if it works. :scared:

Great! Sounds like you have a lot of ADR planning to do!

Have been working on that for a month now.
Have a very picky sister coming along. Everything is planned out, I'm in holding pattern now until November 5th to book up my ADRs. New experience for me.

How many people do you have coming with? Sister? wife? father? That must be hard to get all the plans together!

Walt Disney World is a family pilgrimage - so me, sister & parents. It can be a little tiresome. Needless to say it involves menus, research & spreadsheets. Still half the fun is in the planning! :thumbsup2

May DISERS: I have a challenge..... :cool1:

For each May DISER to list their 5 top restaurants that they will be visiting in May. This can either be quick serve, signature, or just a TS credit restaurant.

What I will do is put together a list of the most visited restaurants! Then we can all discuss the options this week before we have to make our ADRS! :surfweb:

Here are my top five:

1. Tony's Town Square - Love sitting outside around 2:30 and waiting for the parade to come by. But be careful, sometimes you can't get an outside seat.

2. Le Cellier - Love the atmostphere and the Maple Creme Brulee

3. 50's Prime Time Cafe - Lots of fun and enjoy the entertainment!

4. California Grill - Amazing Sushi with an amazing view!

5. Boma - Love the culture in the buffet and so many different choices

Let me know what you think!

Check out post 2 for the list! Post 2 - Dining list!

Here are my absolute musts for each trips

1. Le Cellier - le drool!
2. Beaches and Cream - No Way Jose's are the best dessert! And their hamburgers are the best!
3. Pecos Bill - An absolute must each trip
4. Flame Tree BBQ - Love it!
5. Sci Fi Dine In - Love the atmosphere!

I do want to know more about Kona Cafe. We're planning on giving their breakfast a try.

OK. Good challenge - places I have to visit:

1. Coral Reef - I had the best steak I ate on Disney Property here. Plus I like the atmosphere.

2. Trail's End (Breakfast) - I love the theming & the selection of food. A great way to start a morning.

3. Rose & Crown - I enjoy the take on British food.

4. O'hana - delicious & the surroundings are fantastic.

5. Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe - Sunny Eclipse is a performer. I have to go here at least once a holiday.

To throw a spanner in the works the best steak I had anywhere in Florida last year was over at SeaWorld in Shark's Grill. It was unanimously the family's favourite.

We like to try at least one new restaurant each year but we do have our favorites.

1) Ohana: Tried it this past May and knew that we'd be going back. Our table was right by the window and we were able to watch Wishes while we ate our dessert.

2) Coral Reef: I just finished writing about our most recent meal there in my trip report. The service and food has always been excellent.

3) Crystal Palace: Many years ago, we booked a dinner ADR at the Crystal Palace and it's now a tradition that it's our least meal of our Disney trips. We love the fire roasted corn spoonbread.

4) Pecos Bill's: Sauteed mushrooms and cheese sauce! Need I say more?

5) Pizzafari: I know that it isn't "all that" but my son loves pizza and we've always been able to find a table in one of the many rooms there.

For each May DISER to list their 5 top restaurants that they will be visiting in May. This can either be quick serve, signature, or just a TS credit restaurant

1) 'OHana - Polynesian Resort (This is going to be our "romantic" dinner together)

2) Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (Mostly for the kids in our group)

3) Tutto Italia Ristorante (My family is very Italian, so this is pretty much a given. We also enjoy the fact that the Italian waiters and waitresses can actually say our last name correctly).

4) Liberty Tree Tavern (A little something for everyone)

5) 50's Prime Time Café (My parents love it)

ALSO, I am happy to announce that I am officially into the 100s with my Disney countdown! 199 days, baby. I started counting at 350, so I'm way too excited. lol
