Hi all

Just back this afternoon from our quick anniversary trip! I don't usually post how good/bad our trips are, but with all the negative stuff that shows up on the boards these days I feel like I want to. We had a great time and saw some of the old "magic" that I feel makes Disney special - the little stuff. Nothing major, but you hear more now than in the past about rude CM's and guests being told nothing can be done, the absence of the special things, and that wasn't our experience. First, we got 3 "complimentary" anniversary desserts at our TS dinners

We weren't looking for this or expecting it; just one of those things that makes Disney special. Two of these desserts were after we'd turned down ordering dessert! Also we were wearing our anniversary buttons most of the time (had to remind DH a couple times lol ) and SO MANY CM's enthusiastically wished us a happy one. Yup, they do it all the time I know, but many times they were alone, nobody else watching so they totally didn't have to, yet they said it with huge smiles.
I bought a purse in DTD, a cross-body bag Fri. night. At the bus stop Sat. morning the strap broke

SO annoying to carry but we didn't have time to go back to the room as we had to get on the bus to be on time for our KTTK tour. Afterwards we went into the Emporium to see if we could exchange it, which I didn't think they'd let us do since we had no receipt. Well they let me do it no problem. But what made me happiest was the afternoon we were in Casey's Corner. A youngish boy, probably 12-14, had just gotten his food, stumbled, and dropped his fries. DH had tried to catch them but missed. I told him to go up and ask for another order (he was alone; I assume whomever he was with was waiting somewhere for him) which he did, except the counter was incredibly busy and crowded and he wasn't very aggressive. Anyway after about 15 minutes I just pushed my way up, explained to a CM what happened and asked her to give the kid more fries. She said "oh yes, right away!" stopped what she was doing & helped him.
In AK DH had a fairly long conversation with a CM manager about his company (Starbucks) and Disney. It was clear this CM loves his job and regardless of what you think of Disney as a company these days, it was great to hear him talk with such enthusiasm for his job. This was also true of our KTTK tour guide (although I suppose that's part of that position

)
I know these are simple things. But like I said, lately there are more negative stories on here, or stories of people who were a little let down on their trips, which is why I'm posting this. I sincerely hope all of you March travelers have wonderful trips with some special little moments sprinkled through!
