.:Official March 2015 thread!:.

Hi everyone!! I haven't been around for a few years but I'm so excited to be back. Just booked a short trip to take my DD (9) to MK and we are staying at WL for 2 nights. She has been once before but she was pretty young and I am not sure how much she remembers. Also this will be a special mother/daughter trip for us - leaving the boys with the grandparents further South in Florida so I can't wait.

I'm in for March 19-23, squeezing an extra trip out of those APs :cool1:

Just DD (9) and I as usual, have a friend driving to Orlando to catch a cruise ship who wants some company for the drive and I have enough rapid rewards for one of our tickets back. Not telling DD this time though, just going to pick her up after school and tell her surprise we are on our way to Disney :drive:

So, we must have folks doing FP reservations - how is it going for you so far?

Our window opens up on Jan 26. I've done some custom touring plans on their site, and will be interested in how they change after I do some FPs.

We're planning to do early mornings, leave around noon, then rest/pool/nap whatever, until dinner, then maybe go back to the park if people are up for it. We'll have me, DH, DS9, and DD5.

As far as ADRs, I've switched things around a lot. I think I'm pretty set now. We have a Biergarten, Trattoria al Forno, CRT, and Whispering Canyon ADRs.

We're also doing the Pirate and Pals fireworks cruise on our last night, and on our rest day (we might have two), the kids have a pirate cruise out of GF.

I just realized FP+ is all new to you :bitelip: Are you trying for SDMT or A&E? I booked ours for this trip on Jan. 4th and got everything we wanted when we wanted; but, I was much less concerned since it's just DH and I this trip. Of course there are definitely rides we have to do (multiple times!) but we are focusing more on other things this time. However what was interesting was that I could have gotten A&E any day I wanted for any time! Usually that's not the case. This is our 3rd trip with FP+ and I was able to get everything we wanted at good times the last 2 trips, also, including SDMT but never tried for A&E as my two DS's have no interest. And I've never gotten up early to book them :thumbsup2

You asked about shoes in another post. Many people suggest Tevas, Keens, my husband loves his Chacos. I do wear sneakers sometimes depending on the time of year we go but can also do flip flops if they're good & supportive, like Nike or Under Armour. Our last trip I discovered Sketchers Go Walks and I absolutely  them! They aren't the cutest but its like walking on air. I think the key is switching shoes every couple days so bring at least 2 pairs. Even the most comfortable pair at home can cause pain/blisters with the amount of walking you do at WDW so changing them out with another pair helps most people. Bottom line it depends on your feet but this is what works
for me and what many here suggest when asked :)

Have you guys seen the F&G concert lineup? I'd post a link but.....don't know how to do that lol! Gin Blossoms are there the first weekend, 3/6-3/8, which is when we are and I'm very excited to see them!:goodvibes Saw them in concert with the Spin Doctors when I was a bit younger and they put on a good show :thumbsup2

We are at 47 days! I can't wait! We're doing 1 day at each of the four big parks and getting our Engagement Photos taken in Epcot on March 9! (Germany and Italy). Getting so excited! I'm also about 90% sure we are getting APs this time when we go, since we're moving to Atlanta (6 hrs away) in June! I can't wait!

Awesome, thanks!!! I'm definitely trying for the SDMT. That is probably my biggest concern, ha. I wasn't going to do A&E, but maybe I might try for it if there is availability. DD (will be 5 on the trip) would certainly like it!

Thanks for the shoes. I just don't really have many now. I have a pair of sneakers for the gym, and a pair of open back Merrel sandals. I might order a few pair of tevas and the sketcher go walks to try out. I'll definitely bring a couple different pairs. I guess room to pack a lot is an advantage of driving down!!!

Hello all - new to the boards. Arrive early 3/13 for 7 nights with dh and dd at POR. We visited for a few days last Spring and can't wait for this trip. Looking forward to visiting all of the parks this time. Still didn't start planning early enough to get BOG reservations, erggg! Was able to get the Cinderella Castle dinner for my daughter and 'Ohana for the hubby, though, so at least they'll be happy, haha. :)

Keep trying for BoG. Especially around 45 days out when people have to cancel packages to avoid losing their deposit.

We booked late (going Mar 14-21) & I eventually snagged a 4:30 BoG for 5 just checking randomly. Good luck!!

Wow, that's great! Thanks for the information. I'll keep trying.

I am totally consumed with landing BOG just once during our trip, but it is seeming impossible at this point! This trip is myself DH, mother, DD(16), DD(14), DD(7), and my 12 year old niece. I have been to Disney at least 100 times as I grew up there and always had friends/family working there. This is a first trip for everyone else except my mother and myself. fast pass is new to us as it has been 20 years since our last go at it. husband is in heart failure and it is kind of a 'last family vacation" experience to make memories with the kids. I have no idea what assistance I should request for him. He is in a wheelchair, he can not do steps, stand more than maybe 10 minutes. He needs to avoid germs and crowds (so, crazy people are doing Disney) and his PTSD kind of controls our ability to do parades/fireworks.

Any suggestions from vets?

So excited!

I agree with the poster who said keep trying for BOG. I also started planning within that 180 days and couldn't get it. I got up every morning and it was the first thing I did, for WEEKS. Finally, one morning, there was a time open, but I wasn't signed in. By the time I signed in, the time slot was gone! :sad1: But, that gave me a little hope, so I tried for a couple more weeks and THEN, one morning there were 3-4 times slots availabe, but THIS TIME, I was signed in, and was able to snag one. Twenty minutes later, the times were gone.

Just found this thread! Heading to WDW on my first solo trip March 5-9! I'll be staying at Pop Century and I'm really excited. I've been planning and checking out FP+ options, park hours and so much more. I'm hoping to get a FP for BoG for a lunch while I'm there. Does anyone know if they still do those?

Yes at 27 days out from the day you want to schedule lunch. There's no 180 + 10.

There is a very detailed thread on the restaurants board under dining reservations. You can find a link to the web site & how to find your 12 digit (all numbers) confirmation code.

Good luck!

Yippee! 60 days out today! I did my fp at midnight; everything went great. There was great availability for the top ones throughout our stay. I did mess up one, but was able to get us all very closely overlapping timeframes, so, all good.

I was a bit nervous because I wanted to book different experiences for our kids. One is not 44" yet. But switching once I had them all was super easy and I'm pretty excited.

Mesaboy's FP thread was awesome.

SUPER EXCITED!

I have a TouringPlans account (used it last year at DL and it was excellent) and my next steps are to update it with the fast pass info.

And, keep thinking about how to surprise the kids. We're going to do it near the end of Feb after one of their birthdays. I'm just not sure how. Maybe a scavenger hunt.

Good for you with FP's! Now the stress of that is over :dancer:

I like the idea of the scavenger hunt to surprise your kids. I never surprised mine, they've been going so often since they were 1 and 4 it's just not so much a "surprise" thing now lol. In fact, we're planning on going for Thanksgiving and now tonight, in the middle of this blizzard we're having in NY, DH brings up the possibility of an Aug. trip, also :cheer2:

Going that often sounds awesome! What great memories. I got to go to DL as a kid usually once a year in the summers when I would visit family in LA. I have wonderful memories from it.

I'm dying to take them to DL. I was there once, 20 years ago, and I don't remember much b/c I wasn't really "into" Disney then :sad1: But DS9 is SUCH a pain on flights (he hates flying)! I love him but really, he makes the 2.5 hour flight from NY to Fla. seem like it lasts forever, so I dread the flight to CA lol!!! We'll all be miserable before we get there :sad2:

Hopefully in another couple years he'll handle it better............older DS12 really wants to go but also doesn't want to be on the plane with his brother! :rotfl2:

I could have sworn I posted to the thread....but it appears that I did not!

We will be at WDW March 7-14th for spring break! Soooo ready to for March to get here and we are "home" again! We will be staying at POR for the first time. We decided to splurge and get a Royal Room.

37 days!!
