** Official ** March 2011!!!

Just got my tags and packet in the mail today! Woohoo! It was funny because my DW opened it with my son in the room thinking it was just a regular Disney mailer. She had to get up and run out really quick so he didn't see the awesome luggage tags :scared1::laughing:

Thankfully, he was stuck on a Zhu-Zhu pet and didn't notice. The secret is still intact. :worship:

Well I wont be able to make the meeting cause we are leaving on the 9th but I'll play......

I am Allyson, married mother of one from Louisiana. Teacher by trade although just doing some subbing at the moment. Work tends to interfere with my daily life, LOL!:rotfl2:

I love love love to read, thats about the only hobby I have. This will be my 12th trip to Disney and our cast of characters will include my mother and my apiring actress daughter (10). She keeps me hopping with all her activities.

This trip, Daddy has to work so he is staying home with the 2 kitties while the girls have an adventure!

Now HOW MUCH LONGER????? I cant stand to wait anymore!!

Lisa, I am so sorry for your loss. Nothing can fill the void, but you are doing the right thing. Going back to a place where you all shared great and happy memories together is a good step. I wish I could be there to meet you and your daughter, but will be leaving Pop on the 15th....Maybe I will leave little hidden notes for her around the property! With a nice long stay, make sure you sit and rest in between....I use to make up Disney trivia for my boys,,to see how much they remembered from the day before...EXample...List the names of all the soda's in the food court self serve station....What color is the "POP Century " sign in the entrance driveway?!!! What ever you do...just love every moment of being together,,in the most magical place on earth..:flower3:

Hi Everyone! My name is Bickiana, and my dates have been posted on the list but I realized I never introduced myself. I'm from NYC and have loved Disney for a very long time. I work part time at a bank and am working on my masters in childhood education both regular and special ed. My husband and I have been married for almost 4 years. He works at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and took his first trip to Disney for our 1st anniversary and he loved it. This trip is for my son's 2nd birthday and its his first visit. I've been reading a lot of the older post on here and it sounds like March is going to be a very busy month! Went in March last time and it was wonderful not too warm in the morning and at night but that was fine, we managed to get some swimming in so I was happy :). We're going during Mardi Gras like many of you and was giving a tip by ash-n-brensmom about the LGMH that Colleen created. I found it and its great but I can't seem to save it :confused3 can anyone help? Thanks!

Just right click and choose "save file as", and then you can open it in any paint/graphics program to add your username (or for a very low-tech solution - you can print it blank and write on it yourself!).

I have another blank that the non-Mardi Gras crew might like. Flower & Garden LGMH -

thank you for you kind words....my DH gave us the love of travel, so we have decided to travel as much as we can....I know this wll be a hard trip, we went to DLR in April courtesy of Jim's boss and it was strange what things would trigger a memory for us, so know we will have some hard times, but hope to be able to embrace them and look forward to making newmemories too!
Love you idea of the trivia, I gave Megan a hidden mickey book for xmas so she all excited to look for them. You note idea is sweet!!!!

Colleen, love the new mickey head, great idea, going to use it for our trip!!

Lisa, I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you and your girls have a wonderful trip and create some new happy memories.

Colleen- Love the new Mickey head! Going to save and print it for the trip. :thumbsup2

We'll be there Mar 18-25, so too late for the meet up. But I'll share our info anyway. :)

I'm Mandi. I work part time at our local convention center and love it! I get to see all kinds of awesome shows, often for free. The rest of the time I'm a SAHM to my 4 kids. I've been married 10 years this year (together 14) to my DH Michael. He's a paramedic and a captain in the fire department. He's a Disney nut just like me. He even worked at Disneyland in the 80s. We've been AP holders at Disneyland for most of the last 10 years. Neither one of us has been to WDW in close to 20 years. :scared1: We taking this trip in March without the kids to celebrate our anniversary. (Our honeymoon was at DLR, so seem appropriate. lol ). My parents are flying in from Indiana to watch the kids. This will be the first time we've been apart from the kids for more than a night. I cannot tell you how excited I am about that! :rotfl:No getting up at the crack of dawn, no breaking up fights, etc. It's going to rock! I'm not even phased at the level 9 crowds they are expecting according to touringplans. I am content to just be with my DH and take in the sights. I know there is no way we can get everything done, and I don't intend to even try.

LOVE this!! Thank you so much!

Lisa I am so sorry for your loss but I am glad you are able to be at a place that makes you all happy even in the face of sadness. I admire your strength.

Love the thought of possibly running into fellow disers!! Here is a bit of background on us lol:

My name is Heather and I will be finishing Nursing school in May :woohoo: I have been married since May of 2009 to my AMAZING dh who set up an extremely romantic proposal at Disney in California Grill during th fireworks in 2008 so how could I say no? It was my first trip back since 1994 (which was my only trip at that point lol) We honeymooned to our DVC home resort Kidani village in May and we have two amazing little boys ages 6 and 4 who will not be joining us on this trip! Adults only woohoo!! There will be 5 possibly 6 of us total, should make for an interesting time ;) We have been to the World 5 times and on a cruise once. We look forward to many more trips together!! Hope to see some of you there with our LGMH!!

March 12th is not ideal let me know. I just picked the date essentially out of a hat. I would love to get to know some of the people on this thread better. Maybe we should get to know each other better before:

My name is Jennifer. I live in Washington, D.C. but I am originally from Toledo, OH. I am a lawyer by trade, but I work for a labor union where I work with our pension funds. I am married and my husband is a graphic designer.

I have been to Disney 7 times in 3 years for both personal trips and work trips. I am obsessed with Notre Dame football (Go Irish!), and my favorite things to do at Disney are eat and drink.

Who is next?

Jennifer

Hi guys! Unfortunately, I can't do a meet up on the 12th as we won't be there until the 15th. But, here's a little bit about me...

My name is Kelly. I live in the suburbs of Kansas City, but I have lived several places including New Hampshire, New Jersey and Arizona. I primarily grew up in New Hampshire. Hubby and I are both 36 years old. I am a banking consultant who is lucky to be able to telecommute (been a REAL blessing with all these snow days my kids keep having!) and my hubby is a CPA working as a Controller for a large healthcare IT company.

My kiddos are 6 and 9 years old. We took them first to WDW in June 2009 - celebrating their first visit and our 11 year wedding anniversary. My hubby went to WDW several times as a kid. I went just once when I was 7 years old and don't remember much except parts of Magic Kingdom. They were building Epcot then!

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Disney...perhaps I am the biggest Disney fan of our family . But, I know the kids will be THRILLED we are going back. We are surprising them right before we leave :rotfl:.

Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry to know that you and your daughter have experienced such a loss. It must be so tough. I think you are amazing for modeling such strength for your daughter, even in the face of incredible tragedy.
My dh's unit was the first military unit on the ground in Haiti after the earthquake. He will never forget ... and neither will I.
You are teaching your daughter a wonderful lesson...life does go on, though forever altered. God bless.

Hey all, this is my first post, but been researching our trip for several weeks. My name is Tim, DW, DD8, and DD7 will be visiting March 12th - 18th during the girls spring break. It will be our first trip to WDW. Wife has been to DL when she was younger. Will be staying at CBR and DD8 will be DD9 on the 13th.princess:. We have CRT booked for that day for dinner, our first day at the parks since our flight doesn't arrive until 9:50 on the 12th. We are from Oklahoma (displaced Texans) and so far have CRT, O'hana character breakfast and Wishes Dessert Party booked. We are planning on 3 days at MK, 1 day at AK, 1 day at Epcot, and 1 day split with DTD/DHS. Any recommendations or cool things to do would be appreciated.

Thank you everyone for your condolences....we are looking so forward to our happy place!
MonkontheMove, thank you to you DH for what he and all the military did for everyone after the earthquake...my husband and many others would not of been recovered without their help and support to the rescue and recovery units there!
Life does go on...it just took a big turn for us, but we are learning our new journey and starting a new chapter of our lives!
Thanks again everyone!

You are going to have sooo much fun! For suggestion-don't skip the parades! The electrical parade at MK is amazing, and the floats AK are a personal favorite, but we have never been disappointed in any WDW parade. To grab a prime viewing seat, plan on staking out a spot about 1 hour before time, grab a beverage or snack & relax!

At AK, Festival of the Lion King & Finding Nemo are both wonderful shows. You won't be disappointed in either. Kilamanjaro Safari's is unforgettable if you love animal, and if your family likes zoos, both the Pagani Forest and Mahrajah Jungle trek are beautiful viewing experiences. If that's not your thing, enjoy the rides & PARADE.

Epcot will be in bloom, and the Flower & Garden festival is gorgeous. Our favorite ride there is Soarin'. Akehaus has princess character dining, and if you like Mexican food (being from TX you might;) the outdoor QS Cantina de San Angel has a new fresh tortilla taco menu that is supposed to be super yummy for lunch (at dinner it become a sit down dining experience). I believe there is a Best of Epcot thread that tells you a lot about 'must do's" and the Kim Possible kimmunicators and KIdcot have been suggested as fun ways to enjoy the WS.

For DTD, I would recommend going early in the day b/c it was SUPER crowded even by Disney standards last year when we went in the evenings. We were in WDW 3/17-3/23/10 and I did not enjoy DTD after dark b/c of how crowded it was, but found the day shopping & dining much more relaxed.

For DHS, don't miss FANTASMIC!!! Awesome, in a word. Everyone loves TSM, so try & get FP early for that. DDs would probably really enjoy the B&B show if you can squeeze it in. If your girls are thrill seekers ToT is uber cool & RR is my favorite WDW coaster.

HTH

I won't be at the meet on the 12th - so jealous. Any excuse to have a Dole Whip is a good one!
I will be there March 3-6 and am hoping to get into the passholder event for expedition everest - cross your fingers for me!

My name is Lara - I have a trip report on here from another solo trip I took last year. This is my "I have to fit in one more trip before my AP expires trip"!
Disney World is my happy place and I have been going once a year at least for the past 10 years.
I have met some wonderful people through Disney and the love of Disney - so I am always happy to meet others!!!
I live in the Atlanta area, but I like to fly down anyways....
Goofy is my favorite character, but I do love them all!

Hey all-

So we are on it seems for the Dole Whip meet at the MK at the stand in Adventure Land at 1pm. Please respond to let us know you can attend.

Anyone else like me and keeps playing with your dining reservations? We just added Victoria and Alberts to our reservations. It is a place that I have wanted to go to forever but my husband has always balked at the dress code. :confused3

This time, we are going and I can't wait!

Jennifer
