My try at a Mardi Gras Mickey head:

Thanks for doing that. :)

I loved that image of the hat, but I searched high and low on the internet for one that wasn't copyrighted and I couldn't find it... so, I opted not to mess with it and attempt to create my own... I know mine isn't very good, but I did try. :lovestruc

D~

Touring Plans has changed some March Crowd Level #'s, and has a brief explanation why on their blog. A couple of ours went up in late March.

Counting the days (and hours) down and getting excited. Anyone else start packing? We live in Canada and don't need our shorts so I have packed those...LOL

The perfect time to travel to Disney World  We arrive the 8th which happens to be Mardi Gras :scared1: Can we expect it to be extra busy that day???

I love that You offered to do one. I could not have done it at all!! Thank you again for the Hard work and Time you put into the mickey head.

Don't know about busy but there will be lots of Purple and Gold...as far as the eye can see. GEAUX TIGERS!!
Our schools are out for a week during Mardi Gras so makes a good time of us Louisiana folk to head to the world!

I have started packing also! :yay: Since I was in FL at the beginning of January, I just washed the FL clothes and put them back in the suitcase for the March Disney trip. I had already started a Disney pile earlier (glow sticks, etc) so packed those also. So glad to see that I am not the only excited, early packer. I think I am more excited then my grandsons and my daughter just laughs at all my Disney preplanning. :confused3 Also, it sure is nice to come in from shoveling snow (for the 100th time) and see those shorts in a suitcase. :goodvibes

Add me =) =) SOOOOOOOO excited to be heading back to WDW! We took our kids for the first time in June 2009 and stayed at GF.

We spontaneously booked March 15-22 this past weekend :yay:. This time, we're trying the POP as we think our kids will actually like the theming better at their age...and last time we found we only used our resort for sleep and a couple of swims. Otherwise, we were all about the parks!

I scrambled this weekend and set up ADRs. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that you can book those online now! They didn't have that available when we planned our last trip. Of course, I'm totally going CONTROL FREAK OCD on planning out our trip now.

We're supposed to get at least a foot of snow here tomorrow (we're in the midwest)...I will be daydreaming about WDW even MORE tomorrow :rotfl:

I planned what days/what parks and ADRs and 'don't miss' rides last time - but this time I want to put more effort into planning so we aren't RACING for our lives to our ADRs and pick which park/which day with a bit more strategy.

The other BIG difference this year is we aren't telling our kids until the last moment this time...A SURPRISE DISNEY WORLD TRIP :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

We haven't decided exactly how we're going to surprise them. They are going to go nuts. I MUST keep my mouth SHUT :rolleyes1

We are being coated in freezing rain with snow to follow. I absolutely cannot wait for some Florida sunshine!!! Just found out school is canceled for tomorrow and my girls don't know we are going to Disney. Wish they did so we could spend the day planning! :)

AWESOME! :thumbsup2

We are surprising my DS in 30 days when we leave. I'm just on :cloud9: thinking about how much fun he'll have and how happy finding out he'll be going to Disney right then as oppossed to a year away will make him. (He knows a Disney trip is coming, but thinks it's a long ways away in 2012 and not in about four weeks :goodvibes)

:cool1::banana::cool1::yay: WOOHOOO We can say we are going to WDW next month now!! Now I just have to finally get airfare. Am I the only one still waiting to do that?

Weather Report just said..."ThunderSnow" today with a chance of up to 24 inches of snow....[They described ThunderSnow as a possibility of up to 4 inches of snow per hour with Thunder!...I can't help but wish I was in WDW right now....I remember the Chicago Storm of '67........Hope it misses us....
Can't wait till March!!! For the last 30 years of WDW vacationing I always said I would like to retire and work at one of the Resorts......Looks like a pretty good idea now!!!:surfweb:

We are still waiting for fares to hopefully drop a bit. Hoping to book either this afternoon or tomorrow as I think this is when they are most likely to drop (crossing fingers!!)

Hi everyone!!! OK, so during my dates of stay (March 15-2) the international cheer competition is happening. Looks like their main competition days are March 19th and 20th and then they have a celebration party at AK from 9 PM to midnight.

Here's a link to the info on their website:

Anyone happen to know WHERE they actually do their competitions? I am going to try to plan my park days (and may need to try and move around ADRs if need be) to avoid the masses of cheerleaders.

This registration info makes it sound like they are actually having victory party at DHS, not AK.

If anyone has any insight? If I call WDW do you think they'll just tell me?

Thanks!

YAYYYYY!!! We're going to have a LOT of fun surprising the kiddos, huh???? :cheer2:

We did the last minute surprise thing last year! Check out my PTR to see a video we made of it..it's pretty funny:rolleyes:
Have you checked out Touring Plans for their best parks? Also easywdw.com has them on their site!! Happy last minute planning!!!

We live in Ontario, and I have been holding myself back from packing!! It's so tempting since we don't wear any of the clothes we are taking...but I am a little OCD with my packing and end up re-packing during the last couple of days:crazy:..so don't want to re-pack more than once!

Ahh, I'm so over this weather!! 45 more days

Had to share:

Last night at work, my phone goes off. I ask my co-worker to look at it for me, because my hands were full of lipstick from a previous annoying-lipstick-lady customer. she told me that it was my mom asking what the weather for our trip would be because we only had 6 weeks and she needed to start packing tonight. LOL! My friend just shook her head and said, "now I know where you get your crazy." We laughed for a while

So I answered back (after I washed off 60 shades of "apricot" from my hand) that I would send her the second newsletter and packing list. I have become her, lol.

I wish my Magical Express info would get here. Has anyone else got theirs??

DD & DW were thinking about going to see some of the competitions, but decided against it. IIRC they said they would be taking place at the Wide World of Sports complex for that particular competition.

ETA: I just noticed this is a different competition, a week after the one DW & DD were looking at. However, this one is still listed on the WWOS event calendar, so it may be taking place there, as well.
