*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

My first summer trip I bought all that (collapsible bottles, filters, Frogg Togg cool pads, everything), now after 3 summer trips I only use a small fan and the free ice water. Oh and ponchos.....lots and lots of ponchos ;)

Wow, this sounds just like the plan for our first trip this June. The cooling pads are more our style, not a hand-held fan. But, who knows, maybe we will change our minds once we are there. I like the idea of a collapsible bottle - out of the way until you need it.

Here are two things we found on Amazon that will help us stave off the Florida heat in June. I think this combo will be better than buying cases of bottled water and carrying multiple bottles into the park each day. EveryDrop by Whirlpool Water DBWL2SZ1 Premium Water Filter Vapur Element Collapsible Water Bottle .7L (23oz)
I have a Vapur bottle and I love it! I like that you can just fold it up and toss it in your bag. And mine has a caribeener (sp?) clip on it so I can clip it to my bag when it's full do it doesn't get my stuff all wet. Highly recommend.

I've been looking at getting us Frogg Togg Towels for our trip. Have any of you used them?

. We love our Frogg Togg Towels. I picked up three after seeing so many people talking about them. We wet them and put them in a Ziplock bag and keep it in fridge/ freezer until It's time to go somewhere.

I just made my final payment in my trip. Yay! Im so excited to be going back to the world and pofq. Only thing left for me to do is bog lunch fastpass thingy. I cant wait to get my magic bands.

2 Quick questions about the BOG lunch FP. Will this show up on the FP page or the Dining Reservation page?

Will this be one of the 3 for the day or will it be an extra one?

I know it may already be on here somewhere, but thought I would ask. I am not a great spreadsheet maker. Is there a place that I can get a spreadsheet that I can fill in with our reservations for each day, so that I have everything in one place?

** I think I found what I need in the first post. Thanks **

I haven't tried them, yet, but everything I've read indicates they are perfect for the heat. Wrap them around the back of your neck to cool your blood flow. I've heard of people chilling them before heading into the parks. However, the technology used to create the fibers gives off a coolness once it's wet.

So, as a survivor of melanoma, one would think I have a favorite sunblock. I tend to get a new brand each year--generally based on SPF and the price. Used No-Ad for years and I still love that coconut scent some have.

What is your favorite sunblock?

Have you tried the packets? Amazon has Banana Boat travel packs so I was thinking about a couple of bottles in the condo and then carry along the packets.

I also use Jergens no sun cream...Better one? I would like to have a bit of color this summer.

You would think as one of the few people who will go to Florida white as snow and return home white as snow that I would have a favorite. I do not. I buy anything from a store brand to name brands... whatever is on sale. I try to get something with 30SPF or higher.. and waterproof. I may be white and burn like heck in the sun, but oddly I can put on the sunblock with a low SPF and it totally protects me. Go figure.

The only must for me is that it is a spray on. The convenience is good, plus, this way I can get the parts in my hair..... because that is totally OW when it burns!

So, if anyone wants to meet me on a Dismeet... look for the REALLY white girl. :)

The water fountains are horrible. But the ice water from QS places is filtered through the soda machine as a pp stated. It is fine. Cold....wet.....that's really all you care about in the summer FL heat. You are drinking it for convenience and to keep you alive.... Not for taste. I just hate to carry water bottles or anything extra in the parks when it is that hot and busy. My first summer trip I bought all that (collapsible bottles, filters, Frogg Togg cool pads, everything), now after 3 summer trips I only use a small fan and the free ice water. I would love not to carry water bottles, but we find we get really thirsty just waiting in line. No CS to pop in to there. At DLR, some of the lines can get really hot, and I assume they would be worse in Florida. Can't imagine not having access to a filled water bottle at all times.

We just paid our trip in full too! Whew!

Based on recommendations I read on the boards I'm trying Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen, SPF 100 for my face. The Aveeno one that kept my face from getting sunburned at DLR is no longer made. I really would have gotten only 70 but the 100 was cheaper on Amazon. It got good reviews so I'll give it a try. In the meantime I've been using Coppertone for faces 50spf which works well watching kids at recess, but I wanted sometime more for WDW. For everywhere else we are using Banana Boat and got 3 3oz travel size bottles from Amazon.

It does not show up on the FP page and it is not included with your three! When you make your BOG Fastpass just print your page off, it doesn't send a confirmation.

What is your favorite sunblock?.

I love the Banana Boat Sport Cool Zone.....in the blue and orange bottle. It is hard to find in the little travel size, but the stuff is great! It really is cold when you put it on.....feels like you are spraying ice water on yourself. It's a nice way to cool down while you protect yourself. I remember last year, all the drug stores had the travel sized ones packaged in a deal with a free razor. I couldn't find them anywhere else, so let's just say my husband has about 20 brandy new razors now........yep, you gotta do what you gotta do ;)

Thanks for the sunscreen recommendations! Hadn't even thought about it, but I love the idea of the cooling one and have always loved Neutrogena products for faces :-)

I'm addicted to the spray sunscreens they came out with a couple years ago. They do use it faster than the lotion though. I don't have a brand preference, I usually just buy what's on sale lol

I'm not sure if any of you use Zulily or not. Today they have a special Frozen merchandise section. It is definitely selling out fast, but I still saw some cute T-shirts. They have children and women's sizes. Feel free to check it out or ignore me.

My family and I are super excited to be taking our first trip to the world. We are Disneyland veterans and we are looking forward to traveling to WDW for the first time.

I've learned early on that there is much more planning involved in a WDW vacation vs. Disneyland. I love to plan vacations so the process has been fun.

ADRs are made, BOG lunch fast pass is secured, and FP+ reservations are all set. All I need now is for the time to tick a bit faster to get us to June!
