*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

Hi, we will be at OKW from 6/8-14th. It will be the first time that we are staying at OKW. I was lucky enough to get a BOG ADR today and was looking to cancel an ADR for 4 at Chef Mickey's on 6/8 at 645pm. Is anyone Interested?

Alright... teachers... we can get through this! :woohoo:

Hey guys! We will be there June 8-13, staying at CSR(hoping for a cabana room). We are dining at:

Kona cafe (6-8) dinner
50's Prime Time cafe (6-9) lunch
BOG (6-10) dinner
Tusker House (6-11) breakfast w Donald
Raglands (6-11) dinner
Garden Grill (6-12) dinner

We will be leaving for RR Friday n staying a few days at Panama City Beach, then back to Texas :(

Any insight on how that week will be? This will be our 1st ever trip in the summer months. We are preparing for heat n crowds but wanted a lil insight from you guys! Thanks and hope to beet a few DISBOARD FANS along the way. <good times sprinkled w PIXIEDUST>

For all the teachers out there....

I pointed out, earlier this week, that we (at least here in TX) had about eight weeks left of school. Since I did that, this week has dragged by like no other! I feel like I can't even see the light at the end of the tunnel, even with Disney being that light at the end of the tunnel!!!!

I teach in Maine. We've had 6 snow days, so our last day is June 18. Although it seems far away, I'm glad we booked our first WDW vacation for June 21-27. With all we still have to do before school is out, I'm sure the time will fly by.

I teach preschool at a preschool through 12 private school and we get out May 29th. We just finished assessments and observation reports and have parent-teacher conferences coming up this week. And Mother's Day projects to work on and Open House... The last two months of school are crazy and I just focus on my WDW trip.

DH teaches middle school math :crazy2: and his last day is June 16th, so I gave him one day to pack and we leave on the 18th!

Thanks and hope to beet a few DISBOARD FANS along the way. <good times sprinkled w PIXIEDUST>

That just made me laugh and want to say I'm steering clear of you. :rotfl2: Yes, I know you meant meet and it's beat, not beet. But still, when I read it to myself I just couldn't help but laugh out loud. :rotfl:

Hi to my fellow DIS teacher friends! We had 8 snow days but still get out May 30th (kids are out on the 29th). I was soooo hoping to get out the week prior to beat some crowds at WDW, but mother nature had something different in mind. Luckily we only had to make up the 5 built in days and the others have been deemed "acts of God days." Yahoo! So, we are heading out the afternoon of the 30th and will be at Epcot at rope drop on the 31st. :thumbsup2 Hope these next 43 days go by fast!!!

Ugh! I just finished making my FP+ selections. I started at 9pm pacific time (so 60 days out back east time) and now it is 10:38pm. It was slow! :snail:
Between my internet going in and out and trying to figure out which rides not to go on after we eat it took forever. Well, I also had 10 days to do.

And some of the choices I don't think really need FP from what I've heard, but I had to pick something. :confused3 Also, often it's "BEST CHOICE" was right in the middle of my ADR! And it even said it overlaps but they still thought it was best. Crazy!

I left one day completely open. No FP+ and no ADRs.
Ok, going to bed now. :cloud9:

You can change the times on your fp+. I don't understand why it doesn't let you choose the times you want instead of just assigning a time. Obviously during an ADR is not the best time for you lol

Sounds like a great trip. PCB, FL is my hometown! Now I'm in Concord, NC though.

You are lucky. We had to make up 7 days. They got creative and we tested an e learning day yesterday and they took away 2 random days we had off and extended the school day. We now get out June 6. So that gives me a week to get my bearings and then we head out to Wdw. I was getting a little scared when they were adding days but thankfully they started getting creative.
Have a great trip.

We always add our snow days to the end of the year. We've never had so many snow days that we needed to find alternatives. We are out on the afternoon of 18th, then my wife and I will be at our Disney resort the evening of the 21st. We will make it work!

Yeah, I did that. I don't know why you couldn't just pick your own times in the first place either. I don't know how they decided those were the best times for me when I had an ADR.
Also I noticed that if you accepted the times they give you, you then had a button on the bottom that said something like "plan another day". It then took you to another day's FP selection. If you changed their times you had to just say Done, leave FPs, and choose FP off the menu again.

As a college student, I only have three weeks left of school :rolleyes::rolleyes:

but then again that last week is finals week

but once school ends i feel like june 1st will come that much quicker :beach:

Favorite Disney Character: Too hard to choose - Maybe Goofy or Cinderella, or the genie from Aladdin??
Favorite Disney Movie: I love them all, Frozen has made my top 3 though!
How Many Trips?: This will be my 6th - 4 as a kid, 2001 - 1 year anniversary (Music), 2008 - when my 1st DD was 4 @ CBR

Best Disney Story: Wow, I can't even begin. I'm so glad my DH and I went before kids for our anniversary, and then taking my oldest when she was 4; it was so exciting. We talked my parents into going on that trip and my dad was NOT looking forward to it. He had the best time of everyone (because the planning was done so well!) Now he's so excited to go back!
What do you look forward to most on your next trip?
New experiences - Just Disney!

I've been a long time user of the DISBoards (from when I went in 2008), but this is my first time to ever post. Just intimidated I think. Seriously, for me, the planning is almost as fun as the actual trip. I have all of our touring plans done, ADR's done, now about to go book some Fast Pass +'s!! Wish me luck!!

Thanks for reading, and thanks to all the loyal posters that make my trips amazing by your tips and planning advice!

My brother didn't want to go, but then they went two years in a row, and now he's saying he's ready to go this year...

Hey guys :) I'm new to this forum, my wife and son and I planned our first trip to wdw, we are from California so we know Disneyland too much and we finally decided to make a trip to wdw after saving enough money !!! We are heading there from June 7 to June 21! Would love to know any tips or any information u can give for first timers :) hope to meet other Disney fans from here :)

My tips: Relax, don't let the other people get to you, and know what you want to do in advance. I don't know that it is possible to see EVERYTHING, but make sure you get in the things you feel can't be missed. Hated it one year when I got home and realized that the exhibit in the China pavilion was a mockup of the Terracotta Warriors. I used to teach China, and it would have been perfect! So...the next year....I made sure I had lots of pictures. Also must say that I LOVE EPCOT....and just love wandering around in the countries. Now if the rest of my party would be in less of a rush once in a while....

Hello again,

I was on this thread over the winter but didn't have any definite plans. Then we went through a few months thinking that there was no way we could go this year.

I am so happy to say that we were wrong. On Friday I got home from work to see my DD21 holding her Mickey Mouse with a big smile on her face. She told me that she had gotten the internship that she wanted AND that they told her to go on vacation with her family and just let them know when she will be gone. (Apparently the man who interviewed her said he'd be madder if she didn't go with her family.) So, within an hour, we had booked a trip. Dinner reservations were done before going to bed that night.

Best Disney Story: Winning Magical FP in 2007 during the Year of A Million Dreams

We are arriving at POFQ on June 14 and Leaving on June 21. We've gotten some decent Dining Reservations considering that we tried at the 64 day mark instead of 180.

Now I have to figure out the FP+. Our day to do this is Tuesday. Any tips for this would be greatly appreciated. I will also scour the boards for more info.

I know there is a facebook page for June Disers. I'll work on finding that too.

We are all so excited!!:dance3:

Welcome back! So glad that it's working out for you!

Best Disney Story: Dec. 2012 my parents came with us. It was my 75 year old Dad and my 64 year old mom's first trip. I'm so glad that I got to share it with them.
What do you look forward to most on your next trip? I am looking forward to relaxing!! Although, my family doesn't think I relax much. They think I'm more like a drill sergeant. I always try to pack in every possible activity. Don't want to miss anything. Maybe I will slow down a little this time. This is our last family trip before my DD goes away to college. I want to soak up every minute of it before our life changes.

I think we say that we are going to slow down every year...and then we don't. In fact, I was just having this discussion with Mom. We should slow down and enjoy the scenery in EPCOT.

How Many Trips?: Been to Disneyland at least 20 trips but this is our first to WDW!!
Most excited about: watching my kids get stoked out on Disney magic. And eating a waffle sandwich.
Not excited about: FP+. And the flight to get to Florida.

This will sound silly, but, even after all the trips I've been on, I didn't know there were waffle sandwiches at WDW... Although... When I went in 1988, there was a QS in the Land in Epcot that had this cone that kind of was like a waffle, and it was filled with a beef/cheese mixture and was really yummy. I was sooo looking forward to eating it when we went to WDW in 1998...but that QS wasn't there anymore. :(

Best Disney Story: We Are suprising the kids on this trip. They know we are going to Florida but are thinking that we are only sopping in Orlando for lunch. I wonder just how long it will take them to figure out we are checking in at the resort instead of a restaraunt :cool1:
What do you look forward to most on your next trip? The looks on the little ones faces.

Yay for family! I can't imagine keeping it a secret from DD. Of course...we talk about it too much and ask her for her opinions... And now we go every year, so she just assumes that's where we're going for her birthday!

We just booked an unexpected trip today for June 6-12 at POP. Hey, that's only 51 day from now! Better get busy planning.

Lots of planning to do!

Hey guys! We will be there June 8-13, staying at CSR(hoping for a cabana room). We are dining at:

Kona cafe (6-8) dinner
50's Prime Time cafe (6-9) lunch
BOG (6-10) dinner
Tusker House (6-11) breakfast w Donald
Raglands (6-11) dinner
Garden Grill (6-12) dinner

We will be leaving for RR Friday n staying a few days at Panama City Beach, then back to Texas :(

Any insight on how that week will be? This will be our 1st ever trip in the summer months. We are preparing for heat n crowds but wanted a lil insight from you guys! Thanks and hope to meet a few DISBOARD FANS along the way. <good times sprinkled w PIXIEDUST>

If you want a Cabana room, fax in your request about 2 weeks before check in. Or, you can call and have your request added to your account. Last year, I faxed it in on a free faxing website.

Everyone complains about June being hot -- and it is hot -- but I think July and August are worse. YMMV.

Also want to note we are pretty close to PCB. Definitely need a beach trip soon...if it would just WARM UP!

I'm waiting for my window to open in about 12 hours. I also don't get why they don't let you pick what you want and when you want, instead of suggesting what it wants you to want so that you can spend even more time waiting for pages to load so you can painfully slowly change everything to what you knew you wanted and when, in the first place  I sent an email about it a few weeks ago suggesting they look at this at some point. All it does is force users to spend more time on the site and it's not like it isn't already struggling with the demand of the traffic flow.

Did you get everything you wanted in the end PinkBudgie?

Wow, we both took our first trip in 1976 and we're both going back to WDW in June 2014! Great minds think alike!

Today is 50 days out for us, which means we're paid up. WHOO HOO!

Yes they do. I hope you have a great trip.:thumbsup2

Yes, everything was available. Even Elsa and Anna were available several days in to my trip. But I didn't need that. Really there are few things it seems like FP is good for, and the rest are just fillers because I had to pick something. I am still hoping for a FP for BOG lunch, 7DMT, and MSEP. Obviously, none of those were a choice so I'll have to keep checking.

Hello all :-) and thanks for the warm welcome. Being from Texas we are well aquatinted with the heat. I'm preparing myself and my son with Under armor heat gear shirts and shorts. Strongly urging my daughter and wife to do the same. Cotton is just a big no no unless it's a tank, but I'm not a big tank fan. I'll leave that to the ladies. Lol.

I really wish the fastpass was like it was....I see no advantage in having a magic band if you can't get another one once you use 1 that you have used. As a resort guest, I would like to see it revert to the old way :-(. Sorry just venting.
