*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

Wow, we both took our first trip in 1976 and we're both going back to WDW in June 2014! Great minds think alike!

Today is 50 days out for us, which means we're paid up. WHOO HOO!

I am the Brother :)

Name: Louis, Jennifer, Brenden (10) and Julie(3) Morris
Travel Dates (if known): June 6 - 10
Where Will You Be Staying?: Pop Century Resort
Travel Party: A total of 10 over three families. Trips overlap.
Current Location: Aiken, SC
Favorite Disney Character: Captain Jack Sparrow pirate:
Favorite Disney Movie: Pirates of the Carribean
How Many Trips?: This is my family's first
On-Site or Off?: On
Best Disney Story: We Are suprising the kids on this trip. They know we are going to Florida but are thinking that we are only sopping in Orlando for lunch. I wonder just how long it will take them to figure out we are checking in at the resort instead of a restaraunt :cool1:
What do you look forward to most on your next trip? The looks on the little ones faces.

Hey bro! Glad to see you found the Disboards! :thumbsup2

Tomorrow night at 9pm pacific time I should be able to make my FP+s. Fortunately, I have the day off of work, so I'll be able to spend some time doing last minute research. I've also thought of the Mine Train ride which is still not up yet for a choice, and thinking even after I make my selections, I'll need to be watching for that to open up. Then I'll have to switch things around.

I wonder how hard it will be to get a FP+ for the new ride and how long the stand by will be. I'm thinking of the 6 hour lines at RSR in DCA when Carsland opened up. :crazy2: We are not waiting 6 hours! I also wonder how early people will get to the gates in order to get to the ride first thing in the morning. Anyone know when security at MK opens in the morning? 2 hours before park opening? 1 hour? Will there be a long line at security before park opening? Just trying to plan my strategy, but I guess I will have to wait and hear from other people.

Honestly, if the line is that long, I will just wait for my next trip to go on it...
I never think of any trip as a once in a lifetime trip. :-)

I'm messing with mine now. I got Anna and Elsa for two of us (yeah!) and now it won't let me add the other two attractions without replacing the one I have with a 'recommended' attraction. How do I get it to do just one at a time? Help, please! :guilty::confused3

I'm getting nervous about this too! I wonder if they won't open fp+ until the attraction opens? Our only morning in MK we have a Whispering Canyon ADR for 8 and I'm debating if I should make it earlier...

Who's got two thumbs and received her ME tags in the mail yesterday?

THIS DISER!

Not sure if I follow you, but when you picked FP you would have had to pick 3, right? When I first went on, I made sure I got A&E, and just took whatever else they recommended with it, so I could hurry up and confirm. Once you have your 3, then you can change the attractions on your other 2 FP.

For all the teachers out there....

I pointed out, earlier this week, that we (at least here in TX) had about eight weeks left of school. Since I did that, this week has dragged by like no other! I feel like I can't even see the light at the end of the tunnel, even with Disney being that light at the end of the tunnel!!!!

Being a teacher myself, I completely understand! We just started spring break today...finally! I'm hoping everything flies by once we get back. June 14 still seems so far away though.

I heard that FP+ for the mine train will open when they announce the official opening date. Keep an eye out for that announcement. That's what I'm doing. I'm sure we'll all share on here to when they open up. :)

We still have all sorts of testing left to go so that will help (or hurt depending on how it goes). Thankfully, the students get out on the 6th and we get out on the 7th. I have "Jersey Boys" tickets with DH on the 8th and then my friends and I leave for WDW on the 9th.

I teach in Maine. We've had 6 snow days, so our last day is June 18. Although it seems far away, I'm glad we booked our first WDW vacation for June 21-27. With all we still have to do before school is out, I'm sure the time will fly by.

I'm blessed to have 3 AP Government classes this semester do once we get past the AP exam on May 13 it's smooth sailing. I don't know if that will make the wait drag or speed up though. The only thing I'm upset about is that I'll be missing my seniors graduating for the first time ever but the trip was booked before they set our graduation date. I'm sure I'll get over it quickly when I'm only way to WDW.

Except for a trip way back in 1972, at the age of 14, which was part of a FL package tour, this is my first complete Disney experience. My wife and I will be celebrating our anniversary. 60 day mark next week. Have all my FP+ choices planned, knowing full well there will need to be changes.

I'm on spring break this week but when I go back next week I only have 5 weeks left! I teach head start so our year's a little shorter than the public school's.

Yeah, our school just started quarter 4. I want it over, but I've been so sick this year. I just want to be better so I can actually get to Disney alive! :)

I'm at the 67 day mark... need to make those FP+ soon. Then, I'm like... do I really like my ADRs? But... no... don't touch them.... DO NOT CHANGE them. lol. I just think it's funny I put all the character ones at the end. I tend to put the things I like at the end. hehe.

Alright... teachers... we can get through this! :woohoo:

So excited! My friend and her son is joining my boys and I at POR so we adjusted our room from a RR ( thank goodness my boys never knew this surprise) to a preferred that fits all 5 of us. Now my resort fee is half:) I had to cancel Ohana since I couldn't add 2 to the ADR. For the fun of it I tried again today and I was able to book it for all 5 of us:) 43 days to go:)

That is called the stars lining up! Or everything happens for a reason. I am hoping for some of the same for my trip! I ended up having to cancel my package and re-book a room only res. Therefore, all my FP choices were also cancelled :-( At least the ADRs remain. The whole trip was very dependent on the tax refund, and we still didn't have it at day 45. Then when I checked the status of our return, I got a message from the IRS that our return would have to be paper filed ( a 6 to 8 wk delay) because someone already e-filed a return with our SS numbers on it! So lots of paperwork has followed and lots of stress!! In order to save the vacation, I had to delay final payment as long as possible. Jean at the res. phone line was very patient with me:-)
