*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

About 2.5 hours until I can check-in for my flight online. I should be vacuuming and doing a last tidy but I just can't! Too busy clock watching! Which is silly because doing the last of the housework would kill time but try telling my subconscious that! :rotfl:

Attire question for the Disney experts: My wife believes I should bring a pair of dress shoes for our TS dinners. I bought two different brands of light weight, breathable sneakers, one white pair for the morning hours in the parks, and one black pair for evening ADRs and park hours. My plan was shorts & T-shirt during day, kakis with golf shirt in the evenings.

Please help answer the question: Is a golf shirt, pair of kakis, and black sneakers 'dressy' enough for our ADRs at the California Grill, BoG, Tutto Italia, and Rose & Crown?

Yes - and you'll see much more casual attire, too!

Finished decorating our Magic Bands! Hopefully the picture uploads correctly.

Wonderful! Did you use a dotting tool? I've been looking for one for years but haven't been able to find one.
I spent yesterday, my first day off of work, running around and picking up things to decorate ours. I want to do Nightmare Before Christmas on DH's and still trying to decide if I should try acrylic paints or nail polish. I'd rather use pens but it I think I remember people saying they run when covered with a clear coat. I still may test for myself.
For me, I'm still not sure. I thought it would be fun to do a Disneyland theme. But not sure if I could get the detail I want with out pens. I bought Minnie Mouse tattoos just in case. And I saw they had Minnie Mouse duct tape at Walmart if all else fails.

I have officially checked in online for my flight tomorrow :hyper:

I have also run out of steam doing boring round the flat before I go stuff. If I didn't have my friend staying while I'm away I would be abandoning it at this point! I am in holiday mode :wizard:

At craft stores they have packages of the tattoo transfer paper so you could print your on Nightmare stuff. I think I remember seeing it in our local Michaels next to the tshirt decorating transfers.

Sorry for the pic being so big everyone! Anyone know how I can make it smaller? I used photobucket and tried to shrink the size but it didn't work. The pic is a little overwhelming that large.

Those are so cool! Where did you find all the things to decorate them with?

I got all of the tattoos at Party City. Each package was only $1 each. The red one (mine) was just done with white nail polish. Each band got a coat of base coat polish, dried, decorations (tattoos or fingernail polish), dried, coat of base coat on top again. No cracking or anything. I painted them while they were wrapped around a cup so that they kept their form while the tattoo was applied.

I did not use a dotting tool. Just white fingernail polish and a toothpick. It worked great. When we go my fingernails will match! I'll post a pic of that too when they are done. I saw a trick on pinterest (don't know what I'd do without it) that said to just put a pin with a flat head into an eraser on a pencil and poof...you've got a dotting tool! The toothpick was just as easy though.

Funny... my DD used white fingernail polish on her band with Ariel to make it look like bubbles. She also used a toothpick! It made perfect circles also!

I just got back from Michael's! Have to think about that. If I got paper for ink jet printers I could print some stuff. I would need to re-install Photoshop on this computer first to resize it and flip it.
I got some acrylic paint sealer and a waterproof perm. black pen. I may give that a try.

I've tried those tricks on my nails and maybe I have the wrong kind of pins and toothpicks because they don't come out like dots. :rotfl:

Evening visit to DHS yesterday, just me and DH! Hit a couple of favorites, shopped, snacked. Noticed the costumes displayed before GMR are different from last time we went, and since they sent us in the side entrance, we saw details of the theatre we hadn't noticed before-love the intricate Disney touches!! My favorite part was sitting at the bar in the Tuned In Lounge drinking rum and cokes served by a guy dressed like my dad while The Dick VanDyke Show played in the background :-) ; the onion rings were awesome, too!

I may have to try the nail polish trick. Your red one with all the Mickeys just looks so neat! Mine's blue, though. Not sure what I'd do with it. Maybe try to make the castle. Right now we're just glad we were able to book in time to have three separate colors so we don't get them mixed up.

I am in the airport, having a peppermint tea and cooked breakfast in Cafe Rouge. It's here, traveling day!

That tea sounds terribly healthy for the start of a vacation ;)

We treat traveling day as part of the vacation - makes it feel more fun :) Have a safe journey and a fantastic trip! :goodvibes

12 days... I still have two weddings and three surgery exams to get through (as well as two more episodes of Game of Thrones... Not sure if I can handle that part after last weeks episode... :( lol)

Two more days! Tonight we're having our Disney dinner party - drinking tropical fruit punch from the Polynesian Village Tiki glasses my sister-in-law got me.
