*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

Hey guys :) I'm new to this forum, my wife and son and I planned our first trip to wdw, we are from California so we know Disneyland too much and we finally decided to make a trip to wdw after saving enough money !!! We are heading there from June 7 to June 21! Would love to know any tips or any information u can give for first timers :) hope to meet other Disney fans from here :)

Just wanted to say welcome to the Dis Boards! We are in the same situation as you. We've always gone to DLR and know what times are the best for which ride, etc. But this trip will be our first at WDW. We know nothing about it. Which resort did you pick? We are staying at POFQ because of it's small size and we've heard good things about it. Picking FP+ rides and times will be the hardest because we don't know which rides have the longest lines and when.

Also want to add, next time you go to DLR, be sure to check out the DLR forums here. Even though I'm vary familiar with the parks, I always get great info and stay up to date on the current happenings there.

Hey pinkbudgie thanks for the welcome :) we are staying offsite about 5 min away from the parks, we rented a car because I prefer to drive than to take the buses. So we are doing 10 days at the 4 parks, basically 2 days each main park and a 3rd day for whatever we missed :). What days are you going in June? I am so excited for our first trip to WDW! So much planning is involved but it's so fun. As for DLR thanks for the info, our AP expired and we did not renew this year due to funds :( but we used to go every week to DLR :)

54 Days 20 Hours

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

BTW, I used the BOG website that was posted here and got FP+ for lunch in early June!

We let our APs expire too because of WDW this year. We are 8 hours away from DLR so didn't visit every week, but a couple times a year. I am NOT looking forward to buses, but don't really want to drive either. I'm spoiled by being able to walk everywhere at DLR. We are going the last two weeks of June with 10 day park hoppers. We are doing 4 park days, then a rest day, 4 park days, then a rest day, then two more park days, go home the next day.

Honestly, the advice I always give is this.... Pick the must sees and make sure you hit them. Don't worry about what you miss, because you will miss something. And, in general, just enjoy yourself.

I realize that's probably not the tips you were looking for, but I find things more enjoyable when I just go with the flow (um... with the necessary planning that DW requires though factored in)

:thumbsup2

We usually buy Premium passes at Disneyland since we live within an hour and we go often during Summer blockout days. We took this trip as an opportunity to get a Premier pass. Instead of thinking of the total price of the pass ($1080 after taxes, yikes!), we thought of it as only $380 more then the cost of the Premium pass we usually get. This is comparable to a four or five day park hopper pass with water park and more option. Since we are going for 15 days, it feels like we are saving money. :-)
Oh, the 10% discount and opportunity to buy Tables in Wonderland for a 20% discount at many restaurants that being an annual passholder provides us is nice as well.

Oh, and the gold Premier pass looks special too. :-)

We're offsite the 14-21. We're at windsor Hills.

We're driving from home so I'm packing water and other favorites, but there are several stores in the area. Are you renting a vehicle or will you be using the shuttle services? I don't know much about any particular companies.

Ds3 just watched all the Lilo and Stitch movies and Stitch seems to be among his must meets, along with Mickey and Jake the nebber lan pirate. So, just wanted to say :welcome: Mr 626 !

Hello again,

I was on this thread over the winter but didn't have any definite plans. Then we went through a few months thinking that there was no way we could go this year.

I am so happy to say that we were wrong. On Friday I got home from work to see my DD21 holding her Mickey Mouse with a big smile on her face. She told me that she had gotten the internship that she wanted AND that they told her to go on vacation with her family and just let them know when she will be gone. (Apparently the man who interviewed her said he'd be madder if she didn't go with her family.) So, within an hour, we had booked a trip. Dinner reservations were done before going to bed that night.

We are arriving at POFQ on June 14 and Leaving on June 21. We've gotten some decent Dining Reservations considering that we tried at the 64 day mark instead of 180.

Now I have to figure out the FP+. Our day to do this is Tuesday. Any tips for this would be greatly appreciated. I will also scour the boards for more info.

I know there is a facebook page for June Disers. I'll work on finding that too.

We are all so excited!!:dance3:

I always try to pack in every possible activity. Don't want to miss anything. Maybe I will slow down a little this time. This is our last family trip before my DD goes away to college. I had been wondering if I should do this or not. I have the UG on my Kindle and don't know if you get a discount for that or not. But I may as well give it a try. I didn't know they had FP+ picking info. It seems so new and always changing I wonder how accurate it will be. However, on my own I don't know anything anyway so I may as well give it a try.

So I'm looking for some advice from those of you that are experienced with going to WDW. We get into MCO at 4:40 (after leaving ABQ at 8:20 that morning). I know that a perk with Magical Express is having them pick up our luggage and deliver it to our resort. BUT… I don't really want to wait all night to get our luggage. What are the chances we would have our suitcases by 7-8 that night? Or since we get in so late, would it just be best to get our luggage ourselves and take it on the bus? I'm just not sure what to do. :confused3

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Staying up until 11 (Central) to do FP+. So, hopefully, I'll be updating post 1 between now and then.

Just want to note that I have seen where people have used the BOG lunch ressie website to book FP+ at BOG, and they are being turned down at the restaurant, even with screen shots and print outs, if they did not make those FP+ with an email invitation. I also see people asking how they can keep up with who has what. Seems pretty simple to me, if everything is locked to your Magic Band and your email. You swipe your band; if one wasn't sent to the email associated with your band, it would flag it, right?

Not saying don't try it...but I'm of the opinion that I wouldn't want to jeopardize my chance at getting an invite...and with two birthdays on our trip, shouldn't we be practically guaranteed one? (Yea, yea...there are NO guarantees....)

ETA...falling asleep over here...to realize that I've got one more week before FP+....ugh.

No personal experience, but I've seen others say take what you need for that first night and morning in a carry-on bag. That way, if you don't have the rest of your luggage quickly, you still have what you need to get you through until you can catch up with your luggage.

Our plane lands a little after 6pm and I asked the same question. After reading various answers I decided the best thing for us would be to pick up our own luggage and take it with us on the Magical Express. I don't think we could pack everything we need for the first night and morning in our carry on with all the liquid restrictions on planes these days.

I had also read that others got in fine that way. Do they now have a way of tracking if you got an invitation? I haven't done it, I'm just trying to figure out if they do care now or if they are just glitchy anyway. Have you seen anything recent on this?
