***Official June, 2012! Hot, hot, hot!!!***

Thanks!!! Did you have this done at your resort or at one of the parks/DTD? I just didn't want to go to eat and realize I have no dining credits suddenly :idea:

I did it at GR at DHS. I always go to GR at DHS if we need to go to GR, they seem to know how to handle eveything better. I dont think the resort can do it

Oh, honey, it's going to be okay. I will keep your family in my prayers. Everything will work out and you will get to go. I'm here for you if you need to talk. Hey, I'm your good luck charm :goodvibes You have been here with me through my struggles this month, now, I'm here for you!

Thank you so much. Hopefully, the surgeon will tell us that it's not as bad as we imagine it is.

Monday is my neck surgery which is just a two-hour in/out surgery and then I get to stay home for a week and read the DIS for hours on end! Since I have been answering calls at work to the tune of over 1000 calls since April 2nd, surgery is almost a mini-vacation compared to answering people's questions over and over and entering stuff on my old PC at work. :badpc:

As soon as I can after surgery I have to get up on our exercise machine and start walking to build up stamina for all that walking I want to do in June!

I'll keep you in our prayers.
I need to get back to walking as well. My DH and I had been really good about doing it every day when he got home, but then he hurt his leg and we couldn't do it. When his leg got better, his allergies started bugging him and I can't get him to do it. I may have to start doing it first thing in the morning, while he's at work, if he isn't going to walk with me.

It's been really hot here in Maryland lately and I keep thinking that this is how it will be at WDW.

I have never been down to Disney in warm, warm weather so this will be a first. In fact, I've never been in a pool at Disney in my 13 trips but I think I will swim this time!

Thanks everyone for listening to me blabber!

Kathy

We went for our 5th wedding anniversary in 2000 the week of 4th of July. I think we only went to the parks 2 days though. I'm not looking forward to the heat and humidity at all. I thought about swimming in the afternoons, but I just hate to lose the park time.

Just made the final payment for our June 18th trip! It's happy dance time! :cool1:

Congrats!!! :banana::dance3::banana:

I still love logging into my ressie to see that we have a $0.00 balance.

Started organizing and "packing" things yesterday! My husband swears he is only going to make me happy but when he is telling me to write down all the good snacks lol I can tell he is excited to! :) Trying hard to still keep it a secret from the kids but Im dying to tell them.

My DH used to act like he didn't really care one way or another about a WDW trip. Then we had to cancel the last trip, and DH was upset (not as upset as I was).

My DH and I have talked a little about snacks, but he didn't want to talk much until he found out when I was going to get my money. There are two snack items that I am not willing to budge on though. As a kid we always took 2 things on road trips and I plan on keeping that tradition. Those two things are a huge bag of Jolly Ranchers and lots of beef jerky. Then we'll have Dr. Peppers, whatever the kids want to drink, regular green Monsters, and some uberMonsters.

I was having a hard time keeping the trip a secret from our DS, but now I think it's best they dont' know about it. If we do have to postpone b/c of my fil's back, they would be less upset about canceling a Cocoa Beach trip than a WDW trip.

It is beyond hot in FL this time of year, we have already broken records here for the last 2 or 3 days. It's going to be super hot in FL. I can't stand the heat and I keep saying we won't go back to WDW in June, but I can't stay away. With hitting the park in the morning and then a mid-day break, it will be manageable.

I am not looking forward to the heat at all. Maybe we'll get lucky and it'll be unusually cool while we are there and stay in the 80's.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, if we had to cancel the trip atleast the kids wouldnt be disappointed since they didnt know about it. Thats so exciting now that you know you have your money available:cool1: vacation is on! woo woo :moped:

Now I just need to buckle down and finish up my classes these next two weeks, but its so hard when I just really wanna plan our vacation and research Disney instead of History. Oh well, come the 15th Im done!:worship:

Maybe thats what we will do our first day after checking in, we will arrive in MCO at 10am so Im sure the room won't be ready. We can head over to DHS and upgrade :) Thanks for the advice!

Yes, it is great we'll have the money. Now I just have to hope that whatever we find out today at the fil's surgeon won't keep us from having to postpone.

I had the same problem with my school. Normally, I only take one class every 8 weeks, but this last session I took 2 classes. My school does it's classes kind of odd. The semesters are 16 weeks, broken down into 2- 8 week sessions. Most classes only meet once a week, but there are a few that do meet twice a week. I took 2 classes in the first session of this semester, so that I didn't have to worry about school while at WDW.

Us included, Im sure you and your family are in everyones thoughts and prayers. Keep us all updated. :hug:Hopefully it will just be something harmless!

I wanted to finish my associates finally so I crammed six classes in this semestser to get it done. Now Im just burned out. My husband was going to start his Masters program and that was how they ran his classes too, he waited for after our vacation bc he didnt like the idea of having to study while we have fun lol.

Hello!

Today marks the 30 day countdown for our Mom/Son trip! :woohoo: We are staying at the Port Orleans - French Quarter from June 1st thru June 7th! :cool1:

Cannot contain excitement! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

And since I just found out about the lime green Mickey heads, we will be wearing ours! ::yes:: Hope to see my fellow DISers there! :thumbsup2

Thanks letthewookiewin! Every little thought and prayer helps! I have a lot of faith in my surgeon and I'm sure things will go well! I will keep this thread informed.

I've decided that I will just put up with the heat and duck into shops and spend $$$!

WOO HOO!! I got the emails that I have been waiting for!! I'll have the money that we were planning on using for extra stuff to and after WDW and WDW spending money in no more than 14 days.

That's if we get to go.:headache: My fil went to the doctor today and what we thought was a pinched nerve (bulging disk worst case) is a laundry list of things and the worst of them being a cyst looking thing on his spine that may be cancer. He goes to the surgeon tomorrow, but the doctor he saw today didn't think he would be able to run appliance service calls anymore. Actually, they don't want him walking more than a few steps max and told him to stay in a wheelchair. If he can't run calls (and my bil is unwilling to run them on his own), that only leaves my DH. Which I don't know if he can, or they will let him, take time off for a vacation. The fil could be having surgery as soon as this week or next. I swear I feel like Gandalf is standing between us and WDW saying, "You shall not pass."

Your fil and family are in our prayers :hug:

Hang in there and please keep us posted :goodvibes

Thank you all. The surgeon was a lot more optomistic than the doctor. If the fil didn't have other issues (like recent blood clots in both lungs, and 60% blockage in his heart) the surgeon would have scheduled surgery for this week. Now he just has to get an MRI on his neck, and get the aproval of his heart doctor and his hemotologist to take him off his blood thinners. He has to go back next week. My mil is going to try and get my bil to run calls since we will be gone from June 1 to about the 11 or 12th. Neither of us see it happening, but all she can do is ask. I could see Disney giving me a private jet to visit the parks whenever I wanted to and handing me the key to the Cinderella Suite before that happens though.:lmao:

I am so happy today!! It's funny how happy you can get over an envelope when you know it's from Disney. I didn't think we would be getting anything from Disney about our trip b/c we aren't doing DME. Not totally sure why I had that stuck in my head. I thought anything we needed, we would get at check in. Well I got Mickey Mail today and it had the cutest luggage tags in it. It just makes the trip seem even more real and close.

:woohoo::dance3::woohoo:

Hopefully ours will be here soon. Our yellow tags came last weekend :banana:
Just waiting for our tickets from UT got a great deal through Mousesavers. Also on the lookout for our new luggage :cool1:

I finally decided on a 3 piece set from Samonite 20 % off and free shipping. Nice red color and I'm thinking about tying some bright colored ribbon on the handles just to help make them stand out a little more :goodvibes

I wish we were getting Mickey Mail, but we won't since we have a room only reservation.

don't you still get mickey mail?? Last year we had a room w/ a dining package, but no park tickets, and we still got mail...maybe it was because we used ME.

No, we won't. Yes, if you have a room and dining, you will still get them. You have military package don't you?

We decided it wasn't cost effective to pay for dining this time and I will get my tickets on post a few days before we leave.

If you don't have the military package or an annual pass, you have to purchase a complete package to get Mickey Mail.

OIC :) Thanks for the info!

I mentioned this on the Facebook page, but didn't get much feedback. I know I said I didn't like CBR, but we can up grade for $110 (total) more than Pop for the 3 nights we will be there, just not sure we will like it. We really didn't care for it the time we were there. The reservation is in a preferred location, I'm just worried that we will spend a lot of time waiting for the buses.

I think we mainly hated it because. Were there for such a short time and the love bugs were extremely bad (it was in Sept 2008).

I need some opinions. What would you do?

We stayed there on our first trip and we all loved it. We were in Trinidad South, and I didn't think the walk to Port Royale (?) was bad at all. In fact the one time I walked it (maybe I did it twice) I rather enjoyed the little walk. There was only one time that I thought we had to wait forever for a bus, but that was more b/c of the company we had than the actual wait. There was a group of middle school cheerleader there, that thought we were really interested in listening to their silly little cheers, very early in the morning. Their mothers thought it was just the greatest thing under the sun. We took the first bus, that they didn't.

That's a hard one though. If it was an upgrade from a Mod to a Deluxe, there would be no question. For me there just isn't enough of a difference between a Value and a Mod to do the upgrade. Unless it included going to a Mod that would have Queen beds. Then it would be worth it. Personally, I would put the $110 on Disney gift cards, so you can treat yourself to something at WDW that you normally wouldn't buy. If you put it on a gift card, it will keep you from spending it on something else.
