***Official June, 2012! Hot, hot, hot!!!***

QUOTE]

Sorry that you're feeling sick-hope that you all start to pick up soon. This dang Kansas weather had my family down for two weeks just passing it around. However it was a beautiful weekend!

Thanks for taking over the June list, its greatly appreciated :cheer2:[/QUOTE]

I haven't been sick just everyone around me. 2 of my daughters have streep throat and 1 has influenza so I am helping with their kids who are also mostly sick - 2 with influenza, 2 with streep and 1 with an ear infection. Everyone seems to be doing better right now except the 4 year old, Abygail, now has pneumonia in both lungs but caught it early so hoping for home treatments only. Oh and my husband has had influenza. All of us had our flu shots in October but for some reason they all got sick anyway.

My husband has had some, what I think are allergy issues this week, but the pollen count have been over 8,000, so it's no wonder. I use Flonase and Palgic, so I haven't had any issues, thank goodness. I work in a hospital, it's a wonder I haven't caught something...better knock on wood!

Yes, Talladega has large areas of land around the track and the infield, of course, where you can come set up camp for the week. I DO NOT CAMP, ANYWHERE! We drive up the morning of. I might try to get a hotl for Saturday night before this years race, but I don't know.

My hubby is actually in the Reserves, so thank goodness we don't have to worry about moving, I couldn't live that kind of life. I really think my hubby wants to ge out again, but he doesn't have too many more years before he qualifies for retirement benefits that would really be useful. We also have the option of having Tricare now and it is so much less expensive than what my company offers, besides all the other benefits we have like the Commissary and travel discounts, but he doesn't really see all that, since I take care of it for us...Men. It really doesn't kill him to put in 2, maybe 3 days a month and 2 weeks in the summer, he has friends in the unit and he gets to travel, not to mention the extra money for our trips. I told him that if he gets out, no more Disney trips, no more Nascar trips, no more anything, because the insurance will eat up our income.

We will really need this vacation, because DH will be gone to WVa for the 2 weeks prior to our trip and then his parents come in, he hasn't seen them since last August and we don't usually see them except every few years. He is going to have to go to the big boss, as I like to call him. Come to find out, the guy they said was already off doesn't have the seniority DH has and DH let them know that really quickly.

Our trip in January was the first time we have ever been to Disney Quest and I wasn't impressed, it really needs some work. It reminds me of a mall game room, but larger.

The TMS has the center of the track thing too, but I don't think you can actually camp down there for the week/weekend. Of course I could be wrong. This last Christmas they had a huge llight display that ran under the stand (like where the concession stand are) and around the outside of the track. My DH was like, "see our car fits through here. On race day, I just just drive through here, take out a lot of the crazy NASCAR fans, and then we won't have to deal with the traffic." Unfortunately, the three boys heard it, and they started pretend they were driving a race car through there, making people fly in all different directions.

My bil was a MP in the Army and he got out as soon as he could, which was October 2001. Hopefully, you can convince him to stay in for just a little longer. Maybe if you showed him the figures of what it would cost you in insurance if he wasn't, then that might help.

This part, "Come to find out, the guy they said was already off doesn't have the seniority DH has and DH let them know that really quickly." makes me want to buy your DH one of those huge beers in the Germany pavilion in Epcot. Good for him for standing up for himself and what he deserves.

That's what I was afraid of about DQ. We might go if we are ever going to be at WDW for 10 days, or maybe if the youngest really wants to go for a few hours for his birthday trip in January.

I'll add y'all to our prayers that they all get better soon and that you don't catch any of it. Hopefully the ones with strep react better to the antibiotics that our oldest DS did. They would put him on one, he would take it all, and then he would still have it. They said they went through every antibiotic you can use for strep and nothing worked. Then we had his tonstil and adnoids removed. The doctor found it so odd. They said that it wasn't unusual for someone to have strep, be on an antibiotic, be strep free, and then get it again. Joey's just never went away, until he had surgery.

Oh and I love the quote in your siggy.

Planning a suprise trip 6/3-6/9 for our second trip! Staying in POR-RGR with our precious princesses (age 3 and 8)! Counting down the days!!!:yay:

The highlight of our Nascar days was last March when we got to drive around the track in our minivan at 100 miles an hour. It was for Fan Appreciation Days. We had to go down these tunnels and back up to get on the track, I don't know how they take those tractor trailer through there, but they do. We sit right at the fence at the track, boy is that loud and crazy.

DH is a heavy equipment mechanic. He only has about 9 years left, but with it that close, there is no reason to quit.

The beer in Germany is DH's favorite and we finally found it here, at the Shoppette on post.

Yea, when he told me that, I asked him what the other guy said, I guess he didn't really say anything. He is the one that told DH that he would give him some time in June when his parents come, now he says he won't. He isn't even the boss. He told Dh he had to be back to work on Jne 1st, first of all, he doesn't work on Friday and second, he will still be in WVa with his unit. He is supposed to get back sometime on Saturday and has planned+ to work on Sunday night and Monday night, even with his parents here, but he wanted Tues thru Thurs off. This guy really gets an A+ for stupidity.

He's just going to have to go to THE boss. If push comes to shove, we will get the Army involved. He put in his vacation request in before he got orders, so they aren't supposed to be able to do him this way. It's just so frustrating. They also want to try to force him to take the Sunday he has drill off and not pay him. He is only 2 hours late and since it's because he is on duty, they can't do that either, but this guy called him and told him he had to come in right away, so he rushed home, changed and ran back to work, only to find out this guy went to pick up the order himself.

It's just really frustrating and I'm so afraid DH's mouth is going to get him in trouble, but he needs to stand up for himself.

Yeah, I was not impressed with DQ, my husband liked it, but I didn't. He went twice. I went back to the hotel and wandered the Boardwalk the second time he went.

I sort-of got to do that once around the TMS. The last day care that I worked at, I was the "Fieldtrip Director" and one year we took the kids out to the TMS. They took us on a tour of the entire place that ended in us going around the track in vans. I didn't drive and I hated it. I would have loved it, if it had just been my family. With the fact that I was the one that was resonsible for all of those children, it made me very nervous.

I think that guy needs the hammer of the Army to come down on him. I bet when your DH goes to the real boss, it will make him feel like your DH went over his head and it'll make him treatment of your DH worse. Make sure you have really good documentation of everything he has done, b/c he deserves to be fired for it.

You have been added to official yet unofficial list on post 600 page 40. Wish we could update the first page but no way to do it. We have some friends going June 2 - June 9 (Not Diser's) staying at POR also.

Other than them being cool, I didn't notice them there at all. The size of the tube is based on your bra cup size. When you first get them, they just feel like they have very little sand it in. I thought there was no way, it would be full of jell. After a 20-ish minutes soak in water, they were full. I lightly squeezed them of excess water, dried the surface off with a towl and then put them in the fridge. I did let them dry out, so I could put them with the rest of our stuff to pack. Since the Pop Century will have fridges by the time we go, I just have to resoak them at night for 20 minutes in water and then put them in the fridge over night. I also bought each of us wraps to go around our necks. My DH isn't sold on wearing his yet, but I bet if he goes one day without it, he will be wearing it the rest of the trip. I ordered mine on like a Thursday (I think) and they arrived by Tuesday or Wednesday of the next week.

I think I'm going to order these anyway-I just like the idea of something that I can keep instead of a sticky strip. So I'll have both and choose which works best. Thanks for the tip:worship:

You're very welcome. I can't wait to use mine. I especially love the MM wrap for my neck.

We're so excited!!! We'll be going (Me, DH, DS11 and DD3) from June 9th to June 14th and will be staying at Carribean Beach Resort. :cool1:

I talked to the DH about canceling our Ragland Road ADR the night before we check into WDW. I'm just paranoid that in an attempt to make it their 15 minutes early, we will have to get up early and really rush it. He doesn't want to do it. He just says that we'll go to bed early the night before, so we can get up early enough to make it. That man really wants some bread pudding. :lmao:

I actually got two packages today from Brown Santa!!! I got 2 t-shirts that I bought online for me and the Mickey head foaming soap that I bought from Method. (which is just for our bathroom at home) It's lemonade scent and smells that I have stuck my hands in a container of Country Time Lemonade. When my nephew saw it he said, "wow Aunt Kim, you really will buy anything with Mickey Mouse on it."

Post 600 is all caught up, I think. Trying to keep up with the list of June Diser's and hope I didn't miss anyone. Wow!!!!!! if we are truly just 1% of the total guest the parks are going to be very busy. (Read somewhere that we are on;y 1% but don't know if that is true or not)

Almost everyone should be doing the double digit dance . I can hardly wait. These next 2 months will be gone for we know it. Thinking about having a garage sale to get rid of some clutter, clothes and things that don't sell on ebay, and the extra cash would be nice. Just don't know if I want to work that hard for a couple hundred bucks. Garage sales wear me out.

Morning to you all! Please add my name to the list on the first page. I haven't posted in this thread in a while, but now its time to catch up with my fellow June-goers. Our trip is for ASMo/GF June7th-14th. We are VERY excited as it is our first WDW trip ever!

Welcome back!!!!!!! You have been added to what is the current list on post 600 page 40. The OP has been sick so there is no way to update page 1. Pray she is doing much better by now.

I have been tossing around the idea of sort of doing the same thing. We still have a side by side frig and washer and dryer in storage. I am really thinking of putting them up on Craig's List and try to have them sold before our trip.

The DH and I are going to try out the Polar Breeze neck wraps tonight on our training for WDW walk/jog this evening. I just put them in the frig, so hopefully they are cool enough when we leave the house tonight to see how well they are going to work at WDW.

Our first trip to WDW as a family: June 3-June 9 with a double dip on the Dream from the 10th to the 15th!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

We are All Star Movies, and pretty happy about it. :)

Can't wait!

:cheer2: Sounds like a great vacation. That first family vacation to WDW would be exciting in itself but then adding the Dsiney Dream, I would be jumping for joy. You have been added to post 600 page 40. Getting close to 170 June Diser's.
