***Official June, 2012! Hot, hot, hot!!!***

:o) Son is a serious Disneyholic. He went to Character auditions last week, and is planning on doing the college program hopefully next summer. I have already been checking out the who's going list, and have joined the FB page as well. :) More than ready to head to the World. We're driving. He graduates the evening of June 9, and we are leaving immediately after...trading his graduation cap for Mickey Graduation Ears. :cool1:

I hope his audition went well!! Did they say when he would know something?

DD just got into the college program. She starts 8/15. She's in the recreation program. We're going to visit her 10/23-10/30. Darn, another reason to visit WDW.:cheer2:

I got 2 newbies added to the FB page last night, Welcome. We're a chatty bunch! I love having other Disney Freaks to chat with, most of the real people I know don't want to hear about it.

A friend of mine at work said I couldn't go a whole day with out talking about Disney, I don't thing I could go a whole hour...lol

You would think that with me living in Texas that I would be more used to them. The little one that we found in the living room of my inlaws house wasn't the first time that I found a snake in a house. When I was growing up, my sister and I were up late on a Saturday night waiting for wrestling to come on. Not the WWF wrestling, but back when the Von Erichs were wrestling. Anyway, I was sitting stretched out in front of the tv on the floor when I noticed movement around the bottom of the tv. It was a snake. Before I took time to notice what kind it was I jumped up, ran into the living room, some how managed to jump from the kitchen floor to the top of the table, screaming my head of the entire time. My mom came out of my brother's room where she had been watching tv with my brother. My mom had to go wake my dad up b/c all my screaming didn't do it. Luckily it was just a grass snake, a rattlesnake might have chased me.
When we were little it wasn't uncommon to find rattlesnakes (full grown adult rattlesnakes) in our yard. We lived in the country and our property was surrounded by rock crushers. My mom's cousin owned the house before we did. B/c of the house being surrounded by rock crushers, it's no unusual for the house to shake a little depending on where they were blasting. Well this one time, my mom's cousin heard the blast, and felt a small shake. She was standing at the kitchen sink doing dishes. Then she started hearing things falling from the trees. She looked out the window by the sink, and yep rattlesnakes were falling out of the trees. The only thing we can guess is that they blasted really close to a den of rattlesnakes and the blast made them fly through the air. I guess in my little town in Texas pigs can't fly, but rattlesnakes sure can. :lmao:
Then my poor DH was unlucky enough to work on a dryer once. When he took they dryer outter shell off he told the person that he knew what was wrong. They didn't believe him, so he had to go physically show them. They had a rattlesnake stuck in there dryer and it was keeping the appliance from working. Just in case it is ever a problem for anyone, appliance repair guys usually don't remove snake from appliances in order to work on them.

OMG :scared1: I couldn't live like that. I seriously would have to move. I saw a snake in our front yard probably 21 years ago and haven't seen one since. They could possibly be out there, but I don't spend much time outside. I think most of what we would have are like rat snakes or some other harmless species, except down near the river and I don't go close to the river.

I'm glad I could help. It seems like we jump from one crisis to another around here, so I have gotten really good at venting and then letting it go. Sometime, you just need to vent about it, so you can get all your frustration out before the level headed side of you takes over. I tell my DH that I need to have my little outburst of a freak out and then I can stay calm about it. If I don't the stress about it just builds and builds. The Serenity Prayer somedays really keeps me sane.
Sounds like a plan. I'll just have to keepy my anti-social DH out of the loop. We'll have to figure out a day that will work for us, and maybe others staying at the PC.

Oh, boy do I know about panic mode, but when I have time to stop and think about it, I can be more reasonable.

I'm usually the more anti-social one, it's more shy than anti-social, but I have to come out of my shell sometimes. My DH is all about meeting new people and just talking to people even if they obviously don't want to be talked to. It's funny because my grandparents would talk to anybody. I sure hope we can meet. I know klmall is probably going to join us for breakfast one morning.

I accidently ran into one of the Diser's from our January FB group. I was looking for my husband near BTMRR and she recognized me and came over. I was using a scooter and wearing a big boot on my foot, I was pretty easy to spot...lol

The DH is just anti-social at times. I am just shy, until I get used to you and the my mouth just won't stop. We play WoW and SW:tOR and he talks up a storm with especially the WoW people. We are still new with the SW:tOR people and he doesn't raid with them like the WoW people. Plus we have been in the same guild in WoW for years now, so we know them more. He'll talk to anyone. This one time we went to Six Flag Over Texas and they were having their Fall crafts and folk/ blue grass music type thing. Well the DH found the Civil War Reenactors and I swear we spent more time talking to them than actually riding rides. He will talk your ear off if you bring up the Civil War, so you have fair warning. :lmao:

I just wanted to confess that last July when we went I was proudly displaying my lime green mickey head and saw a few other diser's who recognized what it was. Then 2 of my DGS's got in a fight while the 3 year old DGD went into total melt down mode. Well I took that Lime Green Mickey Head and pulled it off my purse to hide it. Didn't want any of the other Diser's to recognize us. So this year I will carry my LGMH on my purse but if the DGK's act up it goes back into my purse.

Son was cut in first round of the character audition. It's all good though, because when he does do the College Program his dream job would be Jungle Cruise Skipper, or Great Movie Ride. We'll see. He did well at the audition, just not real sure what they were looking for. He was auditioning as Full Time/Seasonal, and I think the CP auditioners had a better chance :) He did enjoy it though.

I am sorry he was cut. I don't know anything about the CP. Has he already in it, or has he applied to it yet?

June 7 Pop Century.....Can't Wait! A little over two months.

There are going to be several of us at the Pop Century at that time. Also, I noticed that you are from Fort Worth. We lived in Keller/ North Fort Worth for years.

For those that are going to drive, how much money should I have in our minivan for tolls? As of right now, I have two mini-M&M containers of quarters. Which is right at $28. It that enough? I am going to get a few more full of quarters, but hopefully can use those for the penny presses.

Yes, born and raised here in Fort Worth!:)

I'm not sure where you are living now.....but we drive out I-20 and cut south in Jackson, Mississippi and hit I-10 in Mobile then south on 75. Now, I don't remember any tolls except for maybe one....Florida Turnpike (Ronald Reagan Turnpike)???? and that is what takes you into Orlando.

OK I think post 600 on page 40 is all updated with 3 new June Diser's soooooo :welcome::welcome::welcome: to them. There are alot of us going in June this year, you can check out the list if you want to see who will be there when you are.

We are so excited about our June trip even if it is going to be Hot! Just 61 days until June 1st, sneaking up on me - I better get busy or I won't be ready.

I am surprised at how easy it is to get dining reservations this close to the trip, added Liberty Tree today for 12 with no problem.

Strangest thing...none of my messages from the last three days have shown up on the boards :( Anybody else having issues?

Only 61 days? Shoot... time is going too fast this time around! I need to get my butt in gear and get on my friends. We need to meet up I think for a trip informational meeting!

We didn't go far. We're in Justin.

That sounds like the way we were thinking of going. Depending on finances, we may stop a night in Orange Beach, AL (near Gulf Shores, AL).

Which means that if everything works out right, we'll be leaving in 60 days!!:banana:
To make today even better, I started week 6 of school. That means, after this week, I only have 2 more in these classes. Then I get an 8 week break from school!!!:banana:

Morning, I went AWOL for the weekend, I ususlly try to do that, the weekend is hubby time, since I don't see him much during the week. Besides we took off and went to Zoo Weekend at the Mongomery, AL Zoo, it was so much fun.

As far as tolls in FL, there are 2 that we go through, one on the Turnpike and it's $2.25 and then one on the Western Beltway that is $1.25. I usually get a roll of quarters just in case and we have a good bit of it left over, unless we go to the exit with the Target and I think it's $0.50.

My hubby says we are going no matter what his boss says, so I guess we will be at WDW in 65 days, it can't get here soon enough.
