Official JUNE 2009 Thread!!!

I have 20 days left before Disney. I'm starting to get a little nervous about the weather. We have never been in June. We usually go in April or May. My husband's work schedule would not allow that time period this year. I'm not worried about the heat..just the rain.

We leave in 2 days for our 5th stay at POR, in June. Most likely, you will get a short bout of rain, every day. It usually doesn't last long, though. We have always had a few days when it doesn't rain at all.

We all carry a small poncho in our pocket. On most rainy days, we just find an indoor attraction and by the time we're done, the rain has stopped, and we didn'nt even use the poncho.

Suzanne I hope it doesn't rain! But I always wear them on water rides. I know I look like a big dork, but at least I'll be dry!

I have my fingers and toes crossed that it won't rain. It is more than a downpour here right now and they just made an announcement that people that parked across from the back entrance need to move their cars due to flooding. I am going to Florida to get away from all the rain we have had, I sure don't want more.

Glenda, I think I am going to try to wear a poncho on Kali and see if it helps, I would rather not be drenched, although it was my feet that suffered more last time and I was wearing Croc Flip Flops. I can't think of any other water rides that I ride, since I won't ride Splash Mtn.


We leave in 31 hours. I am soooooo excited.

We leave in 9 days! I hope. DH has missed 3 days and is down with 2 pinched nerves in his back!! Please send him some pixie dust for a fast recovery and an understanding boss! He's having to take 12 days off for our vacation so I hope that his boss doesn't get mad about these 3 that he's had to be out!!!!

Thanks for the advice about the rain. I'll be sure to bring ponchos for all. I love these boards. I have learned so much. I think we'll be very prepared for our first trip.

I was missed to!!!
We arrive the 23 and leave on the 29 at the movies.

I am counting from the day we leave our house and that's in 15 days!!! We will be driving from IL and spending one day with my MIL.
Is there anyone staying at the movies around this time?

Tomorrow is my last day of school/work. I'm a TA at a Preschool and now is when I will get all my shopping and packing done. I'm planning on going to Home depot next week to get my mickey to!

16 days and counting down fast!

A couple of nights ago, we started watching at least one Disney movie per evening. Tuesday was Finding Nemo. Last night was 101 Dalmatians (animated). Right now, we're watching The Jungle Book. We may also watch The Fox and the Hound or The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I think Saturday we'll try to go see Up.

Is anyone else doing anything to get their families ready?

Tomorrow is really start packing day, so I can get an idea of what, if anything, I need to buy that isn't already on the list.

I have a countdown chain that only has 11 links left. (We already took #12 off today)

I was thinking about doing something next week. I do have a Disney Jeopardy game to play in the car. I was also going to buy 2 new DVDs for the trip. I was thinking of DVDs that we only have on VHS. Older ones like Hercules or Pinocchio?? We have a 15 hour drive, so I thought that might be fun for the car.

I'd like to hear about other ideas that people have come up with.

We love to watch our Dinsey Planning videos over and over again, but they are the ones from 2005/2006 with Erin, Dave, Stacy, & Luke. I have also been watching the Travel Channel shows on Youtube. I don't seem to get anything out of watching my Disney movies I want to see park stuff.
