Official JUNE 2008

I can't wait 108 more days! We are leaving May 29. W're not sure if we are going to stop for the night or just leave later and drive straight through.
We are at the WL May 30 - June 1 then BCV June 1 - June 6 and then AKL - Savannah View - June 6 - 8.
So far our ADRs are:
May 31 - Trails End (and then off tot he P & P Party!)
June 1 - Grand Gathering Safari Experience
June 2 - Breakfast at CRT
June 3 - Breakfast at Chef Mickey's
June 4 - Grand Gatherings Good Morning Breakfast at Tony's Townsquare
June 5 & 7 - Lunch at Hollywood and Vine Playhouse Disney ( I think I am going to cancel one of these though)
Not sure what we are doing for the other meals yet...

Hope you have a safe trip also - we like to take our time going down and will spend a couple of nights on the way and part of a day on the beach going down....

We are the kind of people who like to get to where we are going as quickly as possible, so we will take turns driving as far as can then hit a KOA if we need to and hit the road again as soon as possible. Luckily my kids are used to road trips like this, as we drive up to Milwaukee every year.

I finally paid my deposit today!! :yay: I also made reservations for our Grand Gathering Group at Askerhuse for the Storybook Princess lunch. :woohoo:

I went online today and noticed that you can order custom maps from WDW for free! That is so awesome! I had one made for each of the parks and they should arrive somewhere between 2-4 weeks. Since we are driving, I figured that the kids would really enjoy looking at them and talking about where they want to go.

I should order the custom maps for the kids.... I've never done that before and they would like looking at them.

That's how my dh is on the way home - we don't stop for anything but gas and MAYBE to eat a quick bite. I really am going to have to try to talk him out of driving STRAIGHT back this time..... everyone else is so tired that we all sleep most of the way, but it gets a little rough around hour 10-11 in the car!

If I had my choice, I'd stay at POP and go for a month! Funny, AKL was my last preference of the 3 resorts and I have to say I had a hard time justifying the cost of the Savannah view room. We are doing a big Grand Gatherings trip for my MIL 70th b-day. We told her the hotels were her choices and it has always been her dream to stay at AKL with SV. Because of the cost we opted to stay only 2 nights. We'll be paying this off for quite a while :) I just hope we can actually see some animals close up to make it worth it.
We stopped over at CSR when we were there in Oct. It was the first time we were ever there. It looks pretty nice...we loved their food court!!

The maps are very cool!! They come personalized with your families last name on them, they will say "*** vacation". I'm thinking of framming them after the trip. :cheer2:

I noticed that you are from Ft. Worth; we live in College Station. What kind of good deal did you get on your airline tickets, through whom, and what airlines? If I could find a really good deal, we might consider flying. We are a family of five and the best that I could find, leaving from Houston Interconitental, was $1500 RT.

Thanks!

I am not from TX, BUT southwest airlines does not pull up on travel search engines . .and they almost always have a deals on trips, especially to orlando. I didn't know your dates, but I searched and pulled up 5 people from Houston to Orlando for about $1100 RT (approx. $99 one way per person). It doesn't save you a ton, but hey $400 dollars more that you can spend somewhere else.

I haven't been able to read all the posts in this thread yet, but wanted to join in as we will be going June 21-28. It's our fifth wedding anniversary, but we will be bringing our 2 year old daughter. We are calling it our anniversary/last time to go to WDW before she turns 3 trip! We will be staying at OKW. We just booked and are so excited!

Where do you get the custom maps from? They sound really neat!

We are going June 14-25. We will be staying at ASMU suites. There will be 4 generations of us there (14 total). It will be my ds1 first trip. Can't wait to see his reaction.

Made ressies for Fulton's!! We are not doing the DDP, but had Fulton's been on it, I would have probably added the DDP. We really love Fulton's - their food is fantastic and the service is terrific!

Ok. Can I start packing now? ;)
