~~*Official July 2013 Thread!*~~Our Month has Arrived!

I'm going to Disney World!

This will be my fifth July trip, so I don't need all the people who keep telling me, "Boy, that's going to be hot!" Yeah, I know! I'm still going, people!

The first time I went in July, I was in college and went with a group of twelve friends. I was on crutches due to knee surgery, so they got me a wheelchair and took turns pushing me. At one point, all my friends were griping at the heat and I said, "You know, it's not really that hot." Well, all twelve glared at me (if looks could kill, lol), and one answered, "You're not walking!" I never mentioned the heat again!

Since that trip, I've experienced just how hot and humid it can be in July and how you can still be sweating even at 2:00 am during EMH. But, I don't care - because I'm going to Disney World!

:welcome: If you want to tell me your specific dates, I will add you to the resort list on page 1.

I am a bit late joining the group. Our original plans were for May but work schedule didn't allow for that. So July 15-July 24 at Art of Animation. Can't wait even though this will be my 9th visit I am as giddy as a first timer.

:welcome: I added you to the resort list on page one. :thumbsup2

I believe I have everything updated on the list on page 1. If anyone would like to be added to the resort list, would like to list ADRS or park days information, please let me know and I will be happy to add you to the list.

If anything needs to be changed or updated, also let me know please. I have tried to post everything, but things have been really busy for me lately, so I might have overlooked something by mistake.

If you want to post ADRS, pleast list a specific time or designate the meal.

Ex. Boma @ 7:30 am or Boma (breakfast)

This helps to make sure I post it correctly. Thanks everyone!

I keeping hearing the same thing from people. First, i was born and raised in Florida, I am VERY aware of what July is like. 2nd, Going to Disney in July is better than not going at all. Why don't people get that! I love these boards as you all get it! I have waited 3 years for this trip and can't wait to go!

Have a Great Week - July People !!!!!:cool1:

You too,;);)

Well heres some good news.... Hubby has agreed that since we are staying in FLA off property 9-15 on his parent's dime, and he doesn't have to be back to work until the 22, we can STAY a few extra days! So I am now on the hunt for 3 nights point rental / DVC points. I am not going to sweat it. Because my dates are set in stone, ( 15,16,17) and I really don't care where I stay as long as it's on property ( would prefer Boardwalk but I will not cry if I can't) :guilty: I will just wait till I fall into something good.... refuse to stress!

I am also having surgery TWICE before we go to July ( nothing life threatening, but you never know) so I hope I don't have any complications that will trip up our Disney Vacay with the Inlaws.

So hopefully within the next few weeks I will have my ressies for on property July 15-18.:cool1:

Boardwalk Villas has always been a dream of mine since I was young. I never thought in a million years it would be a financial possibility for us to stay in a place like that. When I was a kid and flying to Orlando every year to see family, we were in no financial position to EVER stay on property. But I had a relative who worked as an environmentalist for Disney Properties, so while they were building up the area in the 80's , I would go on calls to the property with him, ( once we saned for rare fish, once we counted turtle nests!) and we would sneak into the resorts and tour them and swim in their pools.... I used to dream of staying there, but a.) we had little money and b.) everyone in my family hated Disney....Funny how things come full circle. Now those same family members are in their late 50's and have season passes and go twice a month. ( now that they built rt. 429, it has turned their 1+ hour journey to Disney property into a quick, 30 minute ride!)

I also know one of the :firefight who works at Disney... so I do have an in for a free ticket once in a while.... shhhhh. lol

We put our despite down today for July! Our long weekend trip has turned into a 6 night stay at POR- royal room from June 29th-July 5th! The group includes myself Lisa, my 17 y.o sister, my godmother/aunt and her daughter/cousin who is 6.
I've done most of my recent traveling to wdw in January so this will definitely be different! We're working on ARDs now but having a tough time finding something we like in MK.

:welcome: I added you to our resort list on page one. MK food is always a struggle for us too, just because not everyone likes the same things. What about crystal palace? With the buffet it might just be somewhere everyone can find something to eat? Or you can always leave and take a quick ride to one of the monorail hotels if you are feeling adventurous....just a suggestion. Again, welcome!

Tried to discuss Disney with my in-laws last night. I figured since they were nice enough to book a week vacation 1 mile from Disney property, they were interested in taking their grandkids to Disney World. Yeah... no. No interest, in fact they were mad at me for booking "Be Our Guest" for our entire party, saying they don't think they will want to go to Magic Kingdom at all. I swear, talking to some people is like banging your head against a brick wall. :furious:

Thanks! We've got ADRs for 1900 park fare for our first night, O'hana on our pool day, and then Chef Mickey's for the last morning so we pretty much covered the monorail resorts. My travel agent suggested Crystal Palace too or whispering canyon. I'm just not sure if that's too many buffets or not. Our other ADRs are Tempen Edo and 50's Prime Time. I love being able to bounce ideas off all you! My sister couldn't care less about where we ate, and the little one doesn't know we're going yet!

I feel the same way! My sister couldn't care less what we did while in WDW. She is at least excited to go but doesn't want to worry about any of the planning!

I figured that would be the way it was with my Inlaws, but to not even want to set foot in the park with the 9 and 6 year old children? Wow, that just blew me away. They are very set in their ways, and everything is always about them, so I am not really surprized... would have loved at least ONE day with them to show them the magic.

My Pop ( father in law) has agreed to go to EPCOT. Brother in law will go along too Im sure. He is a scientist so we lured him in with that angle. He is a really fun guy so I hope we can get him to tour with us. Husband is completely on my side so far, and says we are getting a 6 day PHP for the four of us and just doing what ever we want. We're also staying three or four days after his parents leave Orlando to finish out our tickets, see more family, and just enjoy not being in NJ. LOL!

:welcome: If you want to tell me your specific dates, I will add you to the resort list on page 1.

Traveling July 13-20 :cheer2:

ADRs:
July 14 - dinner at Via Napoli
July 16 - lunch at Le Chefs, dinner at Rose and Crown
July 17 - dinner at Mama Melrose's
July 18 - breakfast at Kona Cafe, lunch at Liberty Tree

Any opinions on other Epcot eateries?
