*****OFFICIAL July 2012 Thread! Feelin' HOT HOT HOT!

I finally took the plunge and bought our plane tickets this week. We were going to drive, but with our plans changing for our September trip, we decided that we could afford to fly. I am so glad. We always drive, but flew with the kids for the first time in September and it was so nice. Glad we could afford to fly this time too!

I just wanted to say HI guys :wave2: I'm wishing I had planned July now :dance3: Just popping my head in because I miss you guys!!

:flower3: Wish you were coming too!

And now, I am gonna be able to focus more on WDW plans and theme park itineraries. I love the planning stage!! :)

I just purchased our flight down. I already had the ticket coming home but I was waiting for the price to drop a little for the flight to Disney. Of course it might all change depending on any snow days but so far this winter has been wonderful:cloud9:

Hi everyone! Well, the show I have been running since the Fall (SING) was last night and the night before. For those of you who are newer here, SING is a competition (in some NYC high schools) where the students write, direct and perform their own musical, from the script and lyrics (to music from existing songs), to the costumes and the set, and the performance. There are 2 groups in my school competing against each other...Senior/Fresh and Junior/Soph. I have been coordinating it this year for the first time and I had a blast doing it! Senior/Fresh won, but both shows were spectacular! The kids worked so hard and it was phenomenal. So, now things are winding down a bit here...and I am able to come home at 3pm from work most days!

And now, I am gonna be able to focus more on WDW plans and theme park itineraries. I love the planning stage!! :)

Glad to hear it all went well! I love planning too - it is sometimes my favorite part of vacation!

Hey July hotties! Thought it might be fun to list our ADRs so we can see what we have in common. If you would like to tell your ADRs, I would be more than happy to compile the list for us.

I love doing things like this! :goodvibes

Thanks for taking on the ADRs!! As soon as I get ours figured out, I will let you know. I am waiting to decide where we are staying - and waiting for a PIN or AP rates - to help with the decision!

I booked flights for us too - the rates were reasonable so I went for it. I am glad we are flying too. We are driving down for spring break then end of March and after that trip I am sure I will appreciate it even more.

Now I am debating again....should I stay with the Poly for the first part of our trip or do Savanna view bunk beds for the kids at AKL? We are staying at AKL when we get back from our cruise anyway, but don't know what to do for the first part. My DH will probably kill me if I switch again. :rotfl2:

That is a tough one! I always like to stay at different places, so I would probably stay at the Poly - not to mention that the Poly is one of my favorite resorts! The nice thing about doing both is that one is near MK and the other is closer to the other parks.........Good luck with your decision!

Yeah, I really want to try something new too. I haven't stayed at the Poly in years and we love going there every trip. We love the restaurants, grounds, and my kids love walking through the GCH. Plus with staying at AKL for the second part of our trip, we can have the best of both worlds. I think I will just stick with my original plan. Thanks for the input. Great reasons to stick with my first choice. :thumbsup2

Going July 21-29. Hopefully is doesn't change but hubby might have to go to school during R pcs so it could throw the whole summer off. Staying at POP.

Glad I found this board!! We are going to WDW this July 7-13th. It will be me, DH, DS7, DD5, DD4, and we are bringing my brother along with us. It will only be our 2nd trip (and DB's first!), as we went last July too. The heat was crazy, but we didn't care!! Looking forward to some pool time this year though...last year I ran us ragged with tons of plans and ADRs. :faint: My oldest DD is looking forward more to the pool than the parks this time! :lmao:

Congrats to both of you on your trips. If you have any ADRs that you want to add to the list, let me know.

I am with you! We built in a ton of pool time into our trip this year as well. Can't wait!

In exactly five months, we will be sitting on the Poly beach getting ready to watch the fireworks! Can you tell that I can't wait?

I'm getting so excited for this trip! (Now some pixie dust and a PIN would just throw me over the edge, but I'm excited none the less!!)

We decided NOT to drive (yay!! Actually my ILs decided as they are "bringing" us and I'm planning! 20+ hrs each way in a caravan with a 3 month old, 3 year old and 4 adults :scared1:

So when I told them we could ALL fly round trip for under $1000, and that we were considering flying and them meeting us, they said they would fly too and pay for the tickets!

All of our ADRs are booked too! I don't think I will be changing any! I'm not in love with all of the chioces but the trip is for DS and I think he will love the character meals, and that they will be a bit more family friendly then some of the nicer places I would like to try. Also since ILs are footing the bill they are big quantity/buffet people :confused3 I'll aim to please all!
Here's our list of ressie's as of now if you want to add them to the list!

July 11th Garden Grill 5:40pm

July 12th Tusker House 12:05pm

July 13th Chef Mickey's 6:55pm

July 14th O'hana 5:20pm

July 15th Hollywood and Vine 11am

July 16th Crystal Palace 8:05 am

So excited to see this thread getting more activity - always helps the time to go quicker!

Still have not booked a room yet - hoping for a PIN code or AP discount. Most likely will end up in two rooms at a value resort - DH likes the extra space. I wish the "regular" rooms at AoA were open for summer......

I do have one ADR so far, but will wait to post it when I have a few more. We want to do the Wishes Dessert Party this year, and possibly Cali Grill.

Hi guys! You can add me to the July list please.

July 24 - 29

Still deciding on resort...will be either pop or por ... waiting for the AP rate to decide.

This is just a Mommy and Me trip for myself and DD7, celebrating our birthdays in July.:cool1:

I don't have any ADRs yet, as we just decided to go this week.

The last time we went in July was 2010 and had a great time!!

I would love a pin too! Right now, we are booked under AAA which is better than nothing but a pin sure would be nice.

I added your ADRs to the list.

I am so excited. I booked our Pirate League ressies yesterday. YAY!!!!

How exciting! That is one thing that I am thinking about for my son, but I am worried he will just sweat off what I just bought him! Lol.

I love it when the boards pick up. Makes the time go by so much faster I agree.

Can't believe I can officially say that our trip is less than five months away! Time is really picking up. Had to cancel our September trip and I was really sad about it, but now that we get to go longer in July, I am feeling good about things again. My mom is going to be able to go for longer now too, which the kids will love.

My kids have no idea that we are going yet. Don't want it to be a total suprise but I don't want to tell them yet.

We are taking them to see Disney on Ice this weekend. A little something Disney to look forward to and the kids are really excited.

Hi!! I remember you from the July 2010 thread! That's the last time we went too. We'll be there July 23rd for 10 nights, same time you will be there! Welcome back! :):)

I too would rather go on one long trip rather than 2 shorter ones. To me, it feels more relaxing and like more of a vacation that way.

You're right that time is picking up...I can't believe it's the second half of February already and that in just over a month, Spring will be here! We are off this coming week from work and school, so really looking forward to relaxing and just enjoying the time with DH and the boys. In 5 months from Sunday, we hit the road! First to Tampa and then to Disney!

I can't believe you have off this next week. I would kill for a break. My kids at school are challenging this year and with no snow days it's making it feel like the year is crawling. Would love a good week off to recharge with my family. At least we have off on Monday. That helps.:thumbsup2
