Received our Park Tickets today in the mail and purchased our Cirque du Soleil tickets! Have always wanted to see the show and decided to finally just take the plunge. I know we will enjoy the show.

July will be here before we know it.

That is very exciting! Cirque du Soleil is an awesome show. We were lucky enough to see it a few years ago.

Hi guys can I join the July gang?

A 1st timer here! Being thrown in the deep end I think heading to WDW in July!:rotfl: But as the holiday was booked and paid for us, we didnt have much say in the time of year it was booked for, so just gotta go with it and melt in the florida heat! As a family from a cold part of the UK, I think the heat is gonna hit like a ton of bricks! We are just not used to it and being fair skinned we are gonna burn to a crisp! lol

We are booked for the 3rd July - 17th July staying at All Stars Music.

We have the dining plan so I have made our ADRS:

4th - Ohana dinner
5th - Tusker house brekkie
5th - Yak & Yeti dinner
6th - Crystal palace brekkie
6th - Liberty tree taven lunch
6th - Boma dinner
7th - Primetime 50s dinner
8th - Teppen edo lunch
8th - Coral reef dinner
9th - Kona cafe brekkie
9th - Tonys town square dinner
10th - Whispering canyon dinner
13th - Trex dinner
15th - Cinderella royal table brekkie
15th - Chef mickeys dinner

We have planned days off site, going to Seaworld, Discovery cove, Universal Studios etc

I am trying to decide at the mo if we need a hire car for the full 2 weeks. The 2nd week of our holiday is a definate as we are offsite alot, but the first week I dont know whether to rely on disney transport? I keep thinking a hire car would be more convienient and faster, especially in the July heat and crowds?

Welcome! You have great ADRs!!!!! Yes, the July heat can be miserable, just make sure you drink lots of water and stay hydrated. Luckily, you duck in and out of attractions and restaurants that are air conditioned and that helps a lot! As far as a car rental goes, there are pros and cons to driving to the parks. If you use the buses they drop you off near the gates, if you drive, you will have to park, then take a tram to the gates. When you leave the park, your car is often really hot and takes a few to cool down. On the other hand, buses can be crowded, especially if you are leaving at closing time. I guess it all depends on what kind of deal you can get on the car rental. I have heard it is less expensive to rent at the airport. We once rented for one week of two week stay and did get our car over at the Swan resort - it was convenient.

:welcome: I really didn't find the heat to be that unbearable as I remember in the past. We just made sure to take lots of breaks to cool off.

I highly recommend a car. We have done this the past several trips and with the kids and strollers it has been a blessing to have.

Hello - Does Spirit Air fly to RI. ??

:wave2: No basically it is on Southwest that we have to pick from as they are the only ones that are direct flights. We could go to Boston but they basically have the same rates as Providence.:confused3

We're in. Me, DF and 2 of his girls 5 and 7. We're staying at AOA July 1~12. This will be my first July trip.

Yesterday I booked an Illuminations cruise for July 3.
Will look into sharing later.
We're heading to MK with the crowds on the 4th.

:welcome: I almost was going to ask what AOA was until I figured it out:idea: I was hoping the Ariel rooms would be open and would have loved to spend one night there for DD but they won't open until late 2012.

And I just have to say I love that picture in your signature.

We love CM and anytime you ask my youngest son where he wants to eat no matter if we are at home he wants to eat at Chef Mickeys:lmao:

My son is a fan of Chef Mickey's too - we did breakfast there last summer - yum!

Welcome! I have heard great things about the Illuminations cruise. We did a Wishes cruise on July 3rd a few years ago - it was awesome!

I was hoping the same thing, would have loved to stay at AoA - but not until the "regular" rooms are open.....maybe next year!

Hello fellow DISers! I know I've been sort of MIA here on the DIS...haven't logged in for 2 weeks. I think that's an all-time record for me (except for when I'm actually away on vacation!). :lmao:

Things have been sooooooo busy at work. SING (the show I am running) is well underway, and opening night is in 19 days! I went in yesterday for a 6-hour rehearsal. The kids seem to be progressing nicely in their songs, their lines, and the set and costumes are starting to look great. It's wonderful watching it all being put together, but also exhausting and very busy. I literally don't sit down for a minute at work anymore, even eat my lunch standing up while working too (I know, not an easy task)...and sometimes I put in 11-hour days. But, I love all of it. Love what I do, love working with the students and seeing their creative and artistic side, and can't wait for all of it to come together when they perform! :goodvibes

In 10 days, I make our ADRs! We are so excited. We have everything pretty much squared away with that, and I will post what we have chosen a little later, possibly tonight! :thumbsup2

Sounds like you have been really busy - at least it make the time go fast!

I wish I had my dates confirmed, we are still trying to iron out details!

Can't wait to see your ADR list!

Hi! No doubt, being so busy makes the time fly by. After SING is over, I will be practicing for another show. Every year at the beginning of March, my school puts on a Benefit Concert and all proceeds go to a charity. This year the charity is Breast Cancer Research. This is the third year I am co-hosting, and I am also singing in the show with some of my students and some of my colleagues (we're doing a medley from the movie "Grease"). The concert is about 4 weeks after SING, but much less work preparing for it. Just some rehearsal time, a few meetings with my co-host, and 2 technical rehearsals the week of the show where we get to see all the acts onstage. So, I am anticipating that things will go very quickly until March, when things normally feel like they slow down at work.

I'm about to post the ADRs we're trying to get! :thumbsup2
